  1. But Allen did show instant gratification this season. That's fantastic is it not. Albeit a little later but so did LVE. I hate playing the "wish we had XXX players we never drafted" as much as the next guy. But instant returns are great. That's one less season where we find out if our guy can play vs not. Had Edmunds balled out this year we wouldn't be on pins and needles that next year is the year.. and if that doesn't work we're even more nervous year 3 this is the year! So I respect JuJu and LVE's quick returns. They're simply on the fast tracks to great careers. We just have to hope Zay and Edmunds pan out later. The Mahomes miss isn't so bad because we knew day one he was a shut down corner. I'm rooting for Zay and Edmunds to justify their status, and every year they don't is diminishing chances they will. Knowing someone can play high level football immediately is fantastic. It means not wasting opportunity cost. No one in their right mind wants Zay and Edmunds cut of course we're rooting for them to play top ball ASAP. It's not impatience, we're very likely going to see their contracts out. Felt the same way about Shaq Lawson. But we can acknowledge it'd be great to see them show why we drafted them same way it's great JA is showing it. Would you rather have Allen or Rosen at this point? Why do you pick which one? Because Allen has had a better season rookie year. I'm sure Cardinals fans are preaching patience as they should but don't tell me they're not biting their nails they might have whiffed that one.
  2. Yeah I've already said it's pretty hard to the hands down better than Leighton Vander esch by this point career-wise. He looks multiple Pro Bowl bound already at the least. Could have had it this year if he played every game like he has the second half of the season. So basically we're praying on a miracle that Tremaine Edmunds ends his career flat-out better than LVE because that's looking to be perennial All-Pro status. Obviously LVE is more than athletic enough to play the game and is very smart to boot. I see a slightly more athletic linebacker with a lot of catching up to do in every other facet of the game.
  3. Fax Beane didn't draft. More fax, our owners had us in a bizarre situation where we have no idea how much or little impact Whaley had on the draft with McDermott and that is such a strange situation all due to the owners indecisiveness. So this is a silly argument Draft that year turned out pretty darn well on the defensive side of the ball somehow anyway
  4. I'll take a guy that's already a key player in one of the league best defenses rookie year over a guy "THAT'S ONLY 19 AND MIGHT BE AS GOOD AS, AND IF WE'RE LUCKY, BETTER THAN LVE". There's a thing called proven commodities in this league. The faster a rookie picks up the game the better. Who cares about potential when we're looking at someone that's met if not already exceeded potential. Being 19 doesn't mean a hill a beans. It makes you a bigger question mark as to what you're going to turn into.
  5. Those are almost all expansion teams I'd say we're most comparable to the Vikings. Had some good runs to the SB, never won it. And have had a beast in the division: Packers/Patriots with transcendent QBs foiling our past 2 decades. The Lions are to the Vikings what the Jets are to us.
  6. It would work better if there was a Matt Bradford at Detroit. It's more apt for Stafford
  7. Foster was a great find this season. I assumed we had to find SOMEONE given were thrusting anybody and everybody into this WR corps. It would be pretty damning if we didn't find one new guy we could stick with for next season.
  8. I don't care how good some might think McDermott is/ can be. There is no world in which John Harbaugh isn't a supremely better HC than McDermott. Don't see it happening sadly.
  9. I want this kid to win MVP over Brees
  10. arguably the best of any team really.
  11. He also knocked Burfict's socks off last year. That's worth something to me..
  12. If there's an elite WR to be had at the top I'm all for it. Otherwise trade down and down and down some more. Do like the Cowboys and get a Travis Frederick #32 overall
  13. Not even close man. There's Matt Flynn and Sam Bradford for starters.
  14. The game was all around chippy and pretty crappy to watch out of teams playing a meaningless game for me.
  15. Big Ben's been throwing to the leagues best WRs his entire career. Can't dock him for it he's great and all but there's certainly some chicken and egg going on with him and the offensive players he's been surrounded with that also do great on other teams with lesser Quarterbacks
  16. Stat Padford is one of the best nicknames coined for a player. I frickin love it (courtesy of Rob Parker) He's like.. 1-15 in primetime games. Horrible record vs winning teams
  17. I was incredibly nervous about our JA investment preinjury. He brought a new animal when he came back. Showing everything he's capable of.
  18. A fun watch but really friggin hard to see on TV at a sports bar. Everybody loved seeing a snow game and it ended up being the main TV audio game haha. That NEVER happens with the Bills in Texas.
  19. Some posters think any given player is a perennial All-Pro at any given time if they wear a Bills jersey haha
  20. He really did look like he didn't want to be out there. He settled down after getting into the game rythm though. Honestly I feel great after watching JA show no fear ever. Just a kid having fun. One of my favorite Brett Favre quotes after his teammates were ribbing him for his movie performance. "Hey Frank! How many movies have you SUCKED in??" Should be Peterman's line to all the armchair haters out there. Own it and be proud you sucked in something not many get the chance to lol.
  21. He was smashed when Suzy Kolber asked for his analysis on the sideline during a Jets game. All he had to do was be sober and say something basic and stupid to Suzy. Instead he made a solid move on her on national television. https://youtu.be/Gc65NC44dSk "So Joe what do you think about the Jets this year?" "I want to kiss you. I could care less about the team struruggulin..."
  22. He did but I chalked it up to limited exposure to knowing him in the first place, and being surrounded by better parts. I liked the old O Line coach but I don't know how much to pin on the new guy with what he's working with vs what we had before
  23. Thanks. I have a bad habit of lumping the whole interior O Line unit as 1 performance. But it does sound like the C and Miller are the worst of that unit. It's just seemed like I'm constantly hearing Teller's name called for holding and what not. On big plays no less. I think it's easier to get a guage of the tackles. I think Mills gets beat up here a lot but he is what he is. A stopgap vet.. that you shouldn't count on to shore up against the better pass rushers. The interior seems more codependent on each other's play correct?
