  1. I think if they go zone they won’t be able to blitz as much. That’ll open things up for Beasley as well if they switch to more zone
  2. I agree, but I don’t believe they normally have their CB’s shadow receivers. It’s more, one plays one side of the field, the other plays the other side. Also, I’d expect a lot of motion by Buffalo, they’ve been getting plays in pretty fast allowing for a lot of motion at the line.
  3. I think they go wide early as well just for the simple fact that it shows more of what the defenses intentions are. As you said, if we go empty and have 5 wide, if they blitz someone is open. Or at worst Josh is going to have WIDE open rush lanes.
  4. I think the Bills will want Peters or Humphrey against Brown. That leaves Smith against Beasley or Diggs and Buffalo will take advantage.
  5. If this is the case I believe Peters will be matched up against Diggs, snd that’s good for Diggs. Peter’s aggressive nature will overplay and Diggs will be able to get open.
  6. Wondering if anyone had any insight on how they play their CB’s. Will Smith play in the slot? Or is Humphrey mostly in the slot? Do their corners mostly stay in their same spot, or do they follow a particular guy across the field? I just believe that if Humphrey isn’t the one who shadows Diggs. He’ll get his catches. And if Humphrey isn’t the one in the slot, that Beasley’s route running will win against Peters or Smith as well.
  7. My question is how they play their CB’s against us. I believe I heard on a podcast they don’t usually have their guys follow receivers. But I also wonder who plays in the slot against Beasley. Peter’s and Smith are mostly outside corners. So does Humphrey play the slot? If he does, I believe Diggs will have a day against Peters or Smith. Peter’s ultra-aggressive nature tends to overplay against a guy like Diggs. If it’s not Humphrey in the slot, I think Beasley will be able to get open against whoever they play in the slot I also like the matchup of Davis versus Arnette. Davis has basically proven himself to be a starter in the last quarter of the season. Allen has gained trust in him, which he’s earned, and proved it to all of us last week with those toe drag catches. That’s my crux. If Humphrey covers Diggs, I believe he can limit Diggs. But that will leave Beasley against either Peters or Smith in the slot and I don’t believe they have the agility to keep up with Diggs route running.
  8. I don’t think he’ll be a bad coach necessarily. I just think they have a lot of work to do. And most of the guys on that defense are built for Williams blitz heavy man cover schemes. Saleh’s defense is the opposite. They’ll basically need to pull a McDermott and 86 about 75percent of that roster I would believe. It’ll also need to be seen how Douglas and Saleh work together. Will Douglas draft players that he tells Saleh to “make fit” even if they’re not a good scheme fit. I have no idea either way, I’m just saying it’s a possibility. Im also assuming they go in a different direction than Darnold, so who will develop that #2 overall pick, be it Wilson, Fields, or possibly even Trey Lance? That’s another big big question. I know I’m stating the obvious here, it all just seems like a big uphill battle to turn that franchise around.
  9. I mean it’s people at a live football game. I’ve been to at least 20games in my life and every game I see the yellow security coats going down an aisle every game breaking up fights and kicking people out of the game. 60,000people 6,000 600 60 6 there'll be fights every time!
  10. But that was him against cover 0 and man coverage all last year no matter who he played. Except Miami...
  11. Might be a good guy to add into next weeks game plan
  12. I agree he took chances. I thought the overall game plan was conservative. He should’ve coached conservatively in those chances in such a tight game and it might’ve went their way.
  13. Hughes. No Costanzo in the game, Hughes is going to take advantage.
  14. I do believe our defense is better than that of both those other teams and that will help us a lot. And for those worried about our run defense. I am too, but I did a bit of digging, and while the opponents were different... Before the bye, we allowed 280car-1349yds-4.82yds per carry. After the bye, 134-564-4.21yds per carry. That 4.21 would rank top-10 over 16 games Over half a yard per carry difference. I think the defense is getting hot which is why our margins are so much better lately. More turnovers, good special teams as well have helped give the team better field position and more possessions. I believe this is something that is able to continue because our defense is getting healthy at the right time and has seemed to be playing better snd better each of the past few weeks.
  15. I like this a lot. I don’t think their corners can match up against our WR’s, with or without Beasley especially if Brown is back. Diggs, Brown, Davis & McKenzie is still a tough group to contain.
  16. Maybe they put us at 1:00 Saturday because we’ll likely be the biggest favorite and it has the possibility o not be a tight game?
  17. Listen to Cover1’s podcast with Greg Tompsett from a few weeks ago. Even at $175M cap next year they’ll be able to keep basically everyone important and only have to choose between Williams & Milano. If the 17th game brings the cap up to about $190M, they’ll be able to keep everyone. According to Spotrac, we should have about $5M of cap space going into 2021 if the cap is at $175M, with 39 players signed. You’ve got to consider they’ll cut or restructure certain fringe roster players (Matakevich, Lee Smith), along with guys who are rotational (Butler), and extend guys like Brown/Hughes/Hyde in ways that will save them money in 2021, and be easy to get out of in 2022. Then if you consider turning Diggs salary into a signing bonus (which will give him a bug fat check, but save us cap space around $7M-$8M in 2021), that’s more savings. They could do those moves I’ve listed and save roughly $30M against the cap. A lot of guys (McKenzie, Kroft, Roberts) that are free agents will likely stay in Buffalo for veteran minimum. Let’s say they sign 6 of these players for a total of $7.5M Add in 6 draft picks, which will likely cost $4M against the cap. thats 12players for $11.5M. you’d still have $19M to bring back Feliciano, Williams and Milano. If you backload those deals, 2021 cap hits for Milano ($7M), Feliciano ($5M) and Williams ($7M) would put you right at that $19M number with 54 players on the roster. don’t get me wrong it would be EXTREMELY tight. But even at $175M you could bring back Feliciano Milano and Williams, only have to cut guys like Butler, Matakevich & Lee Smith, while restructuring some of your older veterans (Hughes, Brown & Hyde), along with Diggs (pushing his cap down the road which won’t matter a great deal bc of anyone deserves big money it’s him & Allen). If the cap goes to $190M+, they’ll be able to keep just about everyone for another run.
  18. Could also see the team wanting an extra body to throw in for the dolphins game. Get Brown/Diggs/Davis on the bench as early as possible. He’d provide solid depth. If Beasley does miss time I could see Diggs/Davis playing slot, Brown outside snd Diggs/Davis rotating the other outside spot. Davis has developed to the point where I see a Beasley injury being overcome as long as Brown comes back.
  19. That would be optimal... and hopefully the Titans and Ravens would play each other... get at least one of them out of the way. Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Miami and Indianapolis do not scare me much.
  20. OT or another playmaker on defense. I think someone like a Shaun Wade (could play outside, slot or even safety) could be interesting. I think they’ll draft an OL early though, either 1st or 2nd round. They need to keep that depth up and it’s something Beane obviously values.
  21. I think the AFC does have a major advantage: Mahomes Allen Watson Herbert Mayfield Lamar Plus you’ll likely have Lawrence & Fields entering the conference next season. Plus Burrow! NFC Rodgers Wilson Brady Murray Brees Goff Stafford Ryan I would say in 5yrs the only ones from the NFC who will still be there will be Murray Wilson & Goff and POSSIBLY Rodgers.
  22. I agree 100% about drafting & developing OL. Regardless of whether Williams comes back. Doesn’t have to be Day 1, but just keep bringing guys through the system. The front office has also shown a propensity to find good O-Line Talent in free agency.
