  1. Ertz Rudolph Cook my Top-3 most likely, in that order. Beane will be aggressive at the TE position, but won’t overpay.
  2. I think they’ll do their due diligence. He’s older but still solid. id like him at the right price. $4m-$5m?
  3. I believe Ertz, Rudolph and Cook are the most likely. Older guys who can be a #1 option for 1-2 yrs and really help Knox develop his game overall and his confidence can build back up being in more of a complimentary role.
  4. I just don’t see them cutting Klein, because that’s whose job he would take.
  5. I mean it makes sense. Figure out where you’re gonna be in 2021, with a better outlook on the 2022 salary cap, and go from there. They’ll obviously extend the 5th yr option for both Allen, and Edmunds as well, but they need to see where the dust settles a bit before putting that much money out.
  6. My question is who is trading up this year? I wonder if Covid doesn’t severely limit the movement in the draft, and most teams just kind of stand pat. Unless a QB like Trey Lance or Mac Jones are there and someone wants to really go after it, I don’t know how much movement there will be at all. of course I could be totally wrong and we could see tons of trades.
  7. Yea, cover 1 did a great thing on the cap and mentioned Diggs in particular. Basically you convert his salary this season to a bonus, that converts $11M and Pro-rates it over the time left on his deal. At the same time you tack on an extra 2yrs at about $20M or so, so that $11M becomes about $2.2M on the cap per year for the 5yrs of his contract. This does all of the following: -Diggs gets a check for about $11M when he signs this new deal. -Diggs and his agent get to tout a 2yr extension with a $20M aav -Bills get two extra years of their #1 receiver at a rate that will likely be a bargain in 4yrs. -Bills save about $8M on Diggs cap hit in 2021.
  8. 1) He fits the scheme perfectly 2) He’s a perfect character fit. 3) we can create the money easily enough (Butler & Jefferson alone would save $13.3M) 4) we have the need at the position -The only question is if he’ll want to actually play in Buffalo, NY. Green Bay can make the room, is a contender, and his his childhood team. Cleveland could offer more money and is closer to his wife in Chicago, but not by much. And I’m not sure how much of a contender he views them as.
  9. Could he play the big nickel, or is he more of an outside only type of player. Also I believe if they kept him it would be 2nd or 3rd round.
  10. I think Wentz was the more logical fit for Indy because of his ties to Reich. Darnold could still end up in Washington, Chicago or even Carolina. He could also end up in Houston but I think DeShaun ultimately ends up in SF or Carolina.
  11. Looks plausible. I see Wentz going to Indy though. And I see Darnold going to Washington. Bears will end up trading from round 2 to late round 1 for Mac Jones.
  12. I think they might go for a hybrid LB/S/Slot CB to cover TE’s. The defense was exposed in the middle of the field. I would believe they want to get longer & more athletic there. Hamsah Nasirildeen is my favorite but could see a guy like Ifeatu Melifonwu from Syracuse or South Carolina’s Israel Mukuamu. All three also have great names.
  13. He would really add a different dimension to the offense even than Brown. He’s like a suped up McKenzie. Him being a Panther also leads me to believe he’ll be on the Bills radar.
  14. If I’m the Bills I’d offer a 2yr $15M deal. You can tell a guy like that he might get $1m-$2m more somewhere else, but here he’d be on a lights out, elite passing offense and be able to really add another dimension to a creative OC’s playbook.
  15. I think speed at running back is key (Marlon Mack? Tevin Coleman? Matt Breida? All could cheaply add another element in the backfield). I also believe finding more speed off the edge is a major need. They need to find someone with some burst to get after the QB.
  16. Well they can also do outright pay cuts. They did it last year with Kroft and DiMarco. I could see them easily saving $4m or so on Jefferson. I could see them doing the same with Matakevich as well and saving $1M-$2M
  17. I believe Cappacio is doing his state of the roster on his podcast, “SalSports...and stuff”, so He’ll get to the DL sometime this next week. Also Joe Marino on “Locked on Bills” is doing the same thing and will also likely get to the DL one day next week.
  18. I think that’s a valid point. I also don’t think it’s crazy to wonder if Toney would still be available at 30. I think by draft day he’d require a trade up.
  19. Speculation, not really anything substantive. I mean he literally said “was a fantasy non-factor for much of the 2020 season” and I get that’s a reflection of his stats... but quoting it as his fantasy numbers just seems kind of... simple. I’ll admit I haven’t really been much of a Buscaglia fan. He has a big base because of his work on local tv and now on the athletic... but he almost seems kind of PFF’y. ”I found this stat and since this stat exists it means this player is good/bad, no matter what other stats you show me or film I see”.
  20. Not only that. I think in these economic conditions, guys like Jefferson and Addison know they won’t get much on the open market, so a pay cut is in their best interest. I think continuity is a big part of it. I also think they want to keep as much depth as possible. And you continue building that systematic depth by retaining your own and allowing them to teach the system to the new guy and so on and so on. the one guy I’m conflicted on is Brown. I think like Tompsett says in the pod, it just depends on their medical evaluation of Brown. Is it something he can come back from and was just a minor thing? Ok cool, come on back for one more go. or was it a bigger issue that could likely linger and limit his explosiveness (which is such a huge part of his game). If its the latter, they cut him. If it’s the prior, they try to negotiate some kind of pay cut/extension with a lowered cap hit.
  21. The only way I see Brown getting cut outright is if they find a reasonable deal for someone like Kenny Stills ($4M or so). Maybe Perriman or John Ross. But I’d be wary of giving any trust to a guy like Ross
  22. It’s 2hrs long, but within the 1st half hour or so, you really get a great understanding of the Bills cap situation. As they go along you can see that if the Bills do everything they need to do, they could keep Brown, Hughes, Hyde, Addison, basically only cutting Butler and maybe Jefferson (if he won’t take a cut), and build up close to $40M in cap space. By far the most informative information regarding our cap situation and offers more than just “need cap space = cut that guy”. https://www.cover1.net/buffalo-bills-salary-cap-special/
  23. He’ll be back on an RFA tender or a short term extension. And that’s the right move. He’ll compete with Dane Jackson for playing time at CB2. A lot of people want a big name there, I’m fine with a guy at CB2. Spend your assets elsewhere (pass rusher) and better (also pass rusher bc they paid big and got little production for the money they spent)
  24. I just don’t see him getting that much after putting up 3 sacks in his two seasons of play. Agreed. I’m just wondering if he’s gotten to the point, and more so the league (with the cap being lowered) that they won’t pay for a guy who just has a name with no production. I believe a 1yr $2M deal with maybe $1M guaranteed is something worth looking into for both sides
  25. Had literally almost zero production this year for Tennessee (literally zero sacks in 8 games played). But he’s an athletic freak who’s been near 10sks multiple times. McDermott discussed players coming here and “becoming the best version of themselves”. All that being said, could he come to Buffalo on a one year, $2m-$3m prove it deal? He’s an elite talent who’s never been able to put it all together and imo is a perfect fit for the Shaq Lawson role in our defense.
