The Bills lost yesterday because… (karma reasons only)
gtw3 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only thing that I can think of that I may have done to change the outcome of the game was that I changed out my computer monitor at my work desk, where i sit to watch the games) mere moments before the kickoff of the JETS game. These last 2 losses may be on me... I gotta find that old monitor. -
As I have mentioned before, I am in the military and am currently deployed so I have limited internet hours and limited access to content during that time. One thing that I have access to, and loads up fairly consistently, is this website and other forums. Likely because they are mostly text and not a lot of images. So I spend a lot of my free time browsing ours and other team's forums and I just want to say that this fan forum is one of the best ones in the league. There are so many people who contribute frequently (for better or worse haha). Almost all threads get significant views and responses. Our mods are active. Game day threads are like clockwork. I go to some other team's forums and it isn't the case at all. We may not always agree with each other on our topics but we should all agree that we have a pretty great thing here in this forum. I know this may come across as a LAMP post but that honestly isn't the intent.

Pulse check - How confident are you that we can beat the Browns
gtw3 replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, thank you for recapping all of our collective miseries for us in one simple post. I guess we will see you back around draft time? No point in watching anymore since we will "ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS" find ways to lose. -
Seriously disappointed in this board at how many have turned on Allen
gtw3 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not me. I haven't turned. In fact, I ordered 3 new Allen Jerseys last night out of spite of all of the people who have turned on him. And my wife and I decided to name our son (who is due in February) "Allen" as well. ... joking. ..or am I? -
Play 4 full quarters to our capability
-
Yeah, and the ref appeared to be looking right at the play too. i don't know how you miss that.

Why do some Bills fans refuse to have confidence in this team?

Fortunately, they get 4 more chances. -
Why do some Bills fans refuse to have confidence in this team?
gtw3 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
We will be fine. Our Opponents W-L total for the season so far is 50-33. We have a +99 Point differential throughout that stretch. The best in the NFL (pending the eagles game final, they are +90) For some context, here are Miami and KC's. The teams I think most people would consider our main roadblocks to home field. Miami 45-37 Pt Dif: +11 Obviously, that is not a fair representation of their capabilities when healthy with Tua. I am just pointing out the facts so far this season KC 40-44-1 Pt Dif: +64 What we are thought was going to be a juggernaut of a division is proving to be more of a cakewalk for the Chiefs and the entire AFC East is over 500. We are playing a First Place Schedule and the results are still there. 6-3 through 9 games played. Beat all 3 other AFC divisional leaders so far. We still have a chance to split with the Jets and the Dolphins when we get them at home. I think the Bills will rattle off a few wins in the coming weeks and people will look back to the past two weeks and realize they were 3 point losses against pretty good football teams. -
They say that it is supposed to be a safe way to create some wiggle room, especially with a giant as your QB. Execute the snap and push forward with assistance from Davis, even a half a foot. Do it again and the game is over. We were not able to execute the snap.

I really thought this game was a tale of two defenses (both being the Bills') They forced two turnovers. Got a few sacks in pressure packed moments late to force multiple 4th downs including the 4th and 18. They had two amazing goal line stands. For the most part, they were fairly stout in run D. But They allowed the Vikings to convert way too many 3rd and 4th downs They gave up an 82 yard touchdown run They couldn't stop Jefferson in the 4th Q and overtime. I wonder if Edmunds being out the second half was a large contributor to their surge in production. (edit just saw chronicandknuckles saying the same thing a few posts before mine) He was a factor in the interception that Benford got because his length altered the throw. After their first drive, Minnesota really did not do much in the first half. That's just something that I was pondering in the hours after the game. Justin Jefferson made one of the best and most clutch catches I have ever seen. It just sucks it was against us.

How much on Sunday will be an evaluation of Brandon Beane?
gtw3 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Every game is an evaluation of your GM. Along with every draft pick, signing, release, extension and trade. Every move a GM makes is scrutinized, this game is no different. The thing that a lot of people struggle with is the sample size. -
I said that I understood what the OP was trying to say. Not that I necessarily agreed with him. I know that some people disagree with me here, but I think we have one of the best coaching staffs in the entire league.
-
No. It is not a "good thing" that our all-world QB is hurt. I do understand what your intentions are with the thread though, that the coaches may be forced to look into different avenues to generate offense and it may provide versatility down the road. I just refuse to ever say that Josh being injured is a "good thing" in any way.

With so many people wanting to jump off of a cliff or burn it all to the ground after a mid-season, divisional, road loss, I thought I would TRY to provide a little bit of perspective and hope. Looking into the past 5 Super Bowl winners, they all had points in their seasons where their fans likely assumed it was “a lost cause, all the players sucked, they were cursed and/or they probably should fire everyone.” 2021 Rams (12-5): Lost 3 games in a row (weeks 9-12 w/the bye in-between). Got beaten by SF twice including a 31-10 loss in week 10 and a loss in the season finale. 2020 Bucs (11-5): Lost 3 out of 4 mid-season (weeks 9-12) including a 38-3 thrashing by the Saints. Brady, I’m sure, was washed up, Arians had no idea how to coach, it was a failed experiment and they all needed to be fired. 2019 Chiefs (12-4): Lost 4 of 6 (Week5 – 10). This was the season where Mahomes was injured and missed some time. The initial fears on his injury were significant but he ended up only missing 2 games. The Chiefs went 1-1 in those games. 2018 Pats (11-5): Lost 2 of their last 4. Got stomped by Tennessee in week 10. Lost in week 14 in Miami on that crazy last second lateral walk-off play. They’d lose the next week against Pittsburgh to drop their record to 9-5. Their worst record through 14 games since 2008. I’m sure the sky definitely wasn’t falling in New England (sarcasm). 2017 Eagles (13-3): They were fairly dominant throughout their regular season but lost Wentz in week 13 for the season. It was their second loss and dropped their record to 10-2. I’m sure the Eagles fans felt cursed at the time. Had a “why can’t we have nice things” mentality. A sentimentality that I have seen expressed this week on this forum. Point being, Super Bowl caliber teams still lose an occasional game. Especially on the road against divisional rivals.

I'll keep my thoughts brief: Poor game by Allen (despite him being our entire offense). Bad picks two weeks in a row. Clean it up. The Jets defense is as good as advertised. We have got to get healthier at some point. ( I hope ) It is a long season. The season will not be defined by a week 9 road loss in New Jersey. Get Milano, Rousseau, Poyer and White back for the Vikings next week and get back in the Win column. It'll be ok everyone.

NFL Week #9 - 11/6/22 GAMEDAY Bills at Jets Pregame Thread
gtw3 replied to Chautauqua Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wonderful 3 AM start time for me out here in Japan. Our game is the game that is televised where I am so I'm going to get a quick nap in now and be ready to go by kickoff! Go Bills! -
Good old political talk on the forum... as uniting for Bills fans as Johnson vs. Flutie or whether or not we need to focus on running the football. I don't know much about bitcoin, but I do have a map of my yard showing all of the spots where I buried my life savings. Can't trust those banks!

Blue on Blue for Jets- Plus Records of the Bills uniforms
gtw3 replied to Mr Wild's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was never much of a fan of blue over blue. It was my second least favorite combo, only ahead of the combo that shall not be worn. BUT! They keep winning wearing that combo so I say keep on wearing them -
41-9 We get a PAT blocked on the opening drive touchdown and the Jets think that it will possibly come back to haunt us... but it does not. Go Bills

A few rhetorical questions about the trade: Did we get better? Undoubtedly, Yes. Did we sell the farm to get better? Absolutely not. This is a win of a trade, even if we do still have a log jam and some redundancy at RB. Hines is an upgrade and makes us more dangerous.

If Beane doesn't do anything before the trade deadline it's an epic fail
gtw3 replied to Adamb412's topic in The Stadium Wall
This thread...... Some of you need to spend some time watching other teams play or even going to other team's forums to get some perspective. Even when we are "off" we are still better than most teams in this league. When we are "on" we are untouchable. That is due to a combination of the talent that Beane has acquired and the coaching staff's ability to coach it. There are only a handful of franchises in this league that don't look at what we currently have with envy. Yet every week there are a few, and I do believe it to be the minority, of us that want to fire everyone. I trust that Beane is doing everything he can to smartly set us up for success. Not only this year, but the next, and the next.... He is one of the good ones. Go Bills. -
NFL Week 8: Packers at Bills - post game thread
gtw3 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
A coaches dream for the upcoming week of practice... A game that you lead the entire time, flirted with blowing the doors right open and it being a laugher that ultimately felt closer than it was but you still win by multiple possessions. There was a lot of good to take from this game but also very obviously things to clean up for a divisional road game next week. I wouldn't want to be a Jets defender next week. I think it is going to be ugly.
