  1. Take the W and move on to the next. A knock on the narrative that we can't win close ugly games.
  2. Ok.. I will theoretically play this "fire McD" game.... So we fire him. Who do we hire? If they are better than McDermott than why aren't they already coaching in the NFL? Is there some prodigy college coach that is desperate to come to Buffalo? Or do we get back into the re-tread game and bring in some tired, repeat offender head coach that already washed out at another franchise? Do we promote Ken Dorsey? What would be the plan moving forward? Or is this just a "FirE EveRyONe CuZ I'M mAd" thread? ... firing McDermott would be one of the worst moves in franchise history and immediately set us back. He is one of the best 5 coaches in the game.
  3. I was going to come in here and chime in with my thoughts but then I read your post and it pretty much summed it all up. Well said.
  4. I am reading a lot of people talking about the Jaguars like they are some trash team from 3 years ago. That team won their division and a playoff game last year. They are likely going to run away with the South again this year. I am not trying to say they are juggernauts or anything but at the end of the season, I don't think that this loss will look as atrocious as some of you are taking it, injuries aside. We played poorly with a decimated defense and still had the ball down 1 score at the end. The sun will rise again tomorrow everyone. Preferably on US EST for our Bills.
  5. My thoughts: 1. If the NFL is going to have games in different continents, they should ensure both teams have the same opportunity for travel. Today was absurd. 2. Absolutely deflating watching player after player go down on Defense. Fingers crossed while we wait for updates. 3. Elam was consistently targeted and I think that we now know why he has been scratched the previous weeks. 4. Despite our D being incredibly shorthanded, they really balled out for most of the game. The repeated 3rd down conversions were back breakers. 5. I really think that the key point of this game was the Gabe Davis drop. We were driving and could've potentially taken the lead on that drive. Ifs, ands, and buts... i know. 6. The crowd did everything they could to give the team life. It just wasn't our day. 7. Go Bills.
  6. I left the 716 area in 2004 when I joined the Navy and since then I have been back numerous times with friends of mine in the service. These people are from all over the country and each of them have had nothing but wonderful things to say about the people here and their experience. One of my friends wasn't much of a pro football guy. He is from Roanoke, Virginia and is pretty much exclusively a VA Tech fan. I brought him to the Texans game a few years ago, he got to tailgate and now he is hooked. Same thing for another friend of mine who is from Jersey and is a Jets fan. He always (in good fun) poked fun at Bills fans and the area. I brought him to a game, he got to tailgate and hang out, get some local food. He said it was the best sporting experience he had ever had. That's just two of my examples. There are many more. We can be incredibly provincial, but I do love where I am from. The people are a big part of that.
  7. This thread reinforces how difficult it must be to be a GM / Coach at that level. This thread is filled with Bills fans, who all would claim that they understand football, but have such wildly different ideas of what we need to do, or what we failed to do, who is great, who is trash. Threads like these should be studied in Sociology and Psychology classes. To contribute to the thread's title: We are just as likely to win this year as the last two. It comes down to breaks, injuries and a handful of plays.
  8. Great year when we are able to be the team that knocks out the Patriots and the Dolphins from Super Bowl contention. In back to back weeks, no less. on to Cincinnati
  9. Going to be tough to bring him back unless he takes a team friendly deal. Especially after what Baltimore just gave Smith
  10. Playoff Josh + Dolphins game Josh = Postseason Passing Records in Jeopardy It's simple math
  11. As someone who spends a lot of time on football team fan forums (as they are one of the few types of websites I can browse on my work computer) I will say that their board is one of the most toxic boards in the league. It is very active, which is a good thing, but it is full of trash takes, and more scummy posts than most others. The level headed fans just get bombarded with absurdity as they all scream into a vacuum. A key difference would be: We are playing Team A. They would say, "if Allen runs we gotta hit that guy and hit him hard" I think that is fair We are playing the Fins. They say things like "break his f'n legs" or "I wish someone would take him out" just ugly posts in general They are constantly wanting to fire everyone (similar to a few posters here, haha). Tua is incredibly polarizing for their fan base, understandably. But there is still a loud portion of their fan base that wants to roll with Skyler Thompson... Is this how we were during the EJ Manuel days when people were calling for Jeff "Tuel-time" Tuel? Mostly, reading their board makes me genuinely happy for our continuity and the players we have, starting with #17, of course. Go Bills!
  12. We will see how the week progresses regarding Tua. I would think that suffering at least 2 confirmed concussions in one season would be enough to shelf someone for the year but the playoffs make teams/players take increased risks. A large portion of our fan base would be hoping that one of our players would play, assuming they cleared protocol, regardless of how many concussions they had suffered. So I am sure the Miami faithful are doing just that. Regardless, I don't think it matters. No one is stopping this Bills team this year. Lastly, I really hope that the Tua conversation this week doesn't turn ugly. The medical issues he has been working through this year are serious too. Don't have us be the fan base that wishes harm on others. Go Bills
  13. I think that they're the best broadcasting duo in sports
  14. I really dont think that they will pay him anywhere near what I believe that he will ask for. The only thing going is that the running back free agency pool is so incredibly deep this year. Personally, I would prefer they dump their available funds into offensive line, wide receiver and potentially resigning poyer.
  15. First Star : Motor / Cook tandem Second Star: Still giving it to Josh. 2 TDS thrown. 1 ran in. The Ints were bad but on the day when he passes Marino for most TDs through his first 5 seasons, he deserves a star. Third Star: Kingsley Jonathan for making the best of his limited time on the field.
  16. Another game where I think our offense is just completely disjointed and ineffective and then I look at the score and we're sitting on 35 points. How spoiled I have become lol bonus gift from peterman to close it out.
  17. Same. Oct -Dec 2004. My graduation day was 17 below with the wind chill. It was horrible but looking around at all the people from Georgia and Florida, etc. warmed me up a bit. Haha.
  18. Speaking about coaches giving directions to players down the stretch in games... did you see the end of that Patriots Raiders game? Hahaha
  19. I was worried that I was going to throw off the cosmic Karma waves due to this being the first game that I have watched from home since the Rams game but I did my best to resurrect the tried and true rituals that lead to victory. Wife and I texted "Lets Go Buffalo Bills" to each other prior to kickoff, despite sitting mere feet from each other on the couch I wore my Zubaz pants with my throwback Allen Jersey. It got warm in the apartment around halftime so i took it off and my bills hoodie. Realized the error of my ways going into the fourth quarter and promptly put it back on. Victory was secured shortly thereafter.
  20. I would hope that that is the case. (coaches giving explicit directions)
  21. Maybe. Maybe not. He is still a player, in a contract year (i believe?) who willingly chose to not tack on a TD, that practically no one would have blamed him for getting, in order to completely drain the clock and set us up with a chip shot field goal for the win or overtime (baring some crazy block and return scenario). In the scenario you presented, it seems that Penn State was losing at the time of that play. Our game was tied so it isn't exactly an apples for apples example. I understand where you are coming from but like I said, everything else is an endless stream of what-ifs.
  22. My 3 Stars Allen. Bass. Poyer. Poyer mostly because we are still undefeated when he starts
