Looks like we're shorthanded tomorrow - Covid-19
MJS replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, not looking good in the secondary. Hyde hurt, now Wallace, Norman, and Marlowe out. Anyone with a pulse will have to play. We might have to pull a Seattle and blitz all game long and hope to get to the QB enough. -
Another team angle related to Josh’s play...

And he has only lost one game when they lead at halftime (although that was a big one. The playoff game). -
Pete Carroll - Was he so stupid or just thought McD was????

Yeah, was there anyone who thought the Bills would run so little? Even in heavy passing attacks teams run more often than that. So yeah, I think everyone was surprised that the Bills ran so little. Bills fans were certainly surprised. So I don't get why people are attacking his comment. -

I disagree. McDermott has gotten conservative to hold onto leads plenty of times and the team usually DOES win those games. -
Super awesome! Allen is easy to root for.

If you think that, you are just not understanding how defense works at all.

He throws it, and McKenzie runs around.

"Playing not to lose" is the appropriate approach sometimes. We can't be so rigid. Being too aggressive when you really should drop into coverage will burn you. Each game and each down of football requires a unique approach. I do like it when our defense is aggressive, but there are times (like earlier in the year when we blitzed Fitz over and over and he picked apart the defense) that I want to bleeding to stop and the defense to change their approach. I feel like the team needs to be very nimble. One aggressive approach will not get it done. -

Belichick has made plenty of good trades over the years. And he takes the "sunk cost" mentality and moves on from players that don't work out quickly. But his drafting has always been below average. Now, part of that may be he is always drafting so low. He seems to neglect certain positions, though, like WR and RB.

Gary Gramling (si.com) Josh Allen Quote
MJS replied to BillsIsrael's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These days he just looks like a bonafide superstar and those head scratching moments are pretty much gone. But honestly, I hope he never loses the fire, because that's when the amazing things happen (and sometimes some bad things). But you just know he's going to do something spectacular in a Superbowl some day that will cause the nation's collective jaw to drop to the floor. Throw five defenders off of him and then launch a ball 50 yards down field for a Diggs TD.- 29 replies

You can ask him that, but why? We all know the answer. He didn't challenge because he was across the field and didn't see it, he didn't get a call down to challenge it, and they were on the 1 yard line anyway (not that you'd get that much out of McDemott anyway). And then he'd add "we are constantly evaluating how we can get better. We have a growth mindset and that starts with me." Really there isn't such a thing as a good question in those settings because you won't get the REAL answer out of them (nor should you) and everything else we already know the answer to. Ask Allen about the INT against the Pats? He'll say "Diggs and I had a bit of a miscommunication on that route and we talked about how we can get on the same page. We feel really good about that going forward and we're constantly trying to improve in our communication." I just really don't see why these press conferences are even done. They are more than useless. They are just a waste of time.

I've felt for YEARS now that pres conferences are useless. Pretty much for any team. I guess I don't really see the point of them. The players and coaches don't want to be there and they don't want to answer the questions. They just try to get through without saying too much of anything and keep things general (and I don't blame them at all). But you're right. 90% of the questions are stupid or irrelevant. And when you do get a good question the coaches and players don't answer because they don't want to give anything away to opponents or give them any bulletin board material. I find it much more interesting when a journalist sits down for a 1-on-1 interview. Players and coaches seem to open up more in those situations. And even when they come on radio shows they tend to loosen up some.

Wow. Tommy boy in the bottom 5?

I understand that. But there's no denying that mobile QB's are more agile and able to evade defenders in the backfield better than your traditional pocket QB's. I don't watch Ryan much at all, so I was unaware that he was elusive in the pocket.

I'm pretty sure they do count that.
