Sideline TEMPERATURE Dolphins v Vikings
UConn James replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, but you can add layers and have heaters for warmth. You can’t take off enough layers in heat / sun, and disallowing shade / air conditioning efforts bc the Phins aren’t using it is terrible policy. -
Maybe because their concrete isn’t failing. I mean… in Buffalo the stuff they poured in the renovation in 2013(?) is going to pieces, if you look at the BN’s photos from that story several months ago. Buffalo weather is different than KC’s. Stuff just seems to break down faster. Also, they may have the wider concourses and such, or were able to upgrade those in reno.

Thought the sideline reporter said they brought out the cart, but Spencer waved it off and walked back to the sideline and then locker room.

I know someone whose family (his dad was a CEO of a not-small but not-big company) had an oceanfront summer house up in the Cape Cod town where the Krafts summered, and sometimes babysat for their kids. The stories, as is so often the case of the rich, show how big of an * Kraft was. But his love for his wife Martha(?) was very real. Even though she was thrice more an * than he was. And yet everyone in the media just talks about how nice she was, either because that’s the mask she wore in public or they just brown-nose to maintain their access because what difference does the truth make(?). As I do for so many things these days, all I offer is a “Whatever 🤷♂️.”

Did Epenesa just earn himself the Jerry Hughes treatment?
UConn James replied to Sherlock Holmes's topic in The Stadium Wall
The comment AJE made seems to be what set him off. And while Hussy is supposed to be impartial and the cooler head on the field… yes, McD is going to be none too pleased. I read in a spot piece that now including this one, there have been 5 ejections in the league this year. Hussy has done two now, both in the last two weeks. Not a great look for him either, but the ref union closes ranks and holds grudges, which we saw firsthand with JH. Would have been a wiser move for AJ to just apologize post-game. -
Cook is just SLLLOOOOWWW.

Special Teams aren’t, so far. Taiwan Jones needs to kiss Gabe right on the *. WTF is this guy doing on the roster at like 35 years old if he can’t even field a KO?

Yes, but the Boston market is usually blacked out from a CBS game in the same time slot when the Pats* are on FOX. Promo, do you get WPRI, the CBS out of Providence? The Bills-Ravens was on there yesterday, and I would bet they’re carrying the marquee matchup, given this slate. Hartford CBS will carry the Jests, I’m certain. Slight chance Providence does too because it’s Jets-Dolphins as an AFCEast division game.

Worried about Cook……is it too early?
UConn James replied to streetkings01's topic in The Stadium Wall
It may just be my eyes, but Cook has just looked SLOW when he’s gotten the ball (mostly in the garbage time vs TENN). This is both in hesitation and in how fast he’s running out there. SLOOOW. -
Bills open at -14 next week against Steelers

What would be the deal with PITT starting Trubitsky? He has familiarity of our system, seeing it in practice all last year, but we have familiarity with him. Is that a wash? -
Antonio Brown exposes himself in a hotel pool
UConn James replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
It might take the legal system of another country to finally DO something about this clown. This is what happens when people with severe behavior issues never get checked because they can throw, catch, kick, etc. an inflated ball. Thrown out of college? Wah. Slap on the wrist of probation in FL. Send him to prison for a few years and see what he learns. -
Not the Bills, but Northwestern Univ. (near Chicago) released renderings of their new stadium today. The new Ryan Field will cost ~$800M and have a capacity of 35K, which is a downsize from the current field’s 47K. Looks kinda similar to what is said to be the design for us, with the awning over most seats. Are we going to have to go to three tiers to fit 60K? (Also, fer chrissake, 204KB is the biggest image size allowed here and it kinda sucks to have to do the photo-compress app three times before it’s small enough. 204KB is insanely small & crappy quality these days. Sorry to vent, but…)

Who Do The Bills Sign At Cornerback?
UConn James replied to Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD's topic in The Stadium Wall
What happened to Cam Lewis and Siran Neal? -
How soon we forget Korey Stringer. His family created a sports science center at my alma mater UConn after he died of exertional heat stroke in 2001 after a Vikings training camp practice where the heat index was 99* (and reached 110* that day). How the league can continue to schedule mid-day games in Miami & Tampa (tho, yesterday’s game there had a 4:30 start) in the early part of the season just takes a poop on the notion that they care about player safety.

Which plays did we miss on the most that cost us?
UConn James replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
The final play. McKenzie juked for an extra yard for 8 seconds instead of just dropping to the ground. We would’ve had time for the spike a the FG try. -
We don't have the mentality to win close games
UConn James replied to UKBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Also McKenzie not just dropping to the ground after the last catch, rather than trying to juke for an extra yard for 8 seconds. If he doesn’t do that, we have a FG try. His situational awareness leaves a lot to be desired. Probably why Dorsey was pissed in the booth. -
Besides the common sense in having multiple egresses off the field, this is another reason to have separate entrances for the visitor and home locker rooms in the new stadium.

How about giving Jordan Philips the carry ala Refrigerator Perry? Sorry, that haiku thread is getting to me.

I was/am more of a Rafa-n and for awhile in the mid-00s, really didn’t like Roger because he seemed very smug at times to me, a show-off, and perhaps because he won too much(?) when before Rafa & Djokovic came along, any competition wasn’t there. But I’ve come to really respect his game, how much he brought to the sport, appreciating his humor, and his interaction with the kids and other players. Some of the things that changed my perception was 1) being stopped by the security guard at the Wimby players’ entrance because he didn’t have his ID badge and he patiently waited for his coach(?), who was carrying it rather than making a situation. I mean, he was a 7-time winner of that tourney and was the most recognizable face on tour and an A-lost sports star and worth hundreds of millions in sponsorships alone but he just calmly stood there. 2) Telling off Djokovich’s team box when they just wouldn’t shut up. Their jeering was one of the reasons people didn’t / don’t like Novak. 3) Seems like a good family man.

On a Uni devoted FB group I’m on, they showed a college equipment manager prepping the footballs first with shaving foam / cream, leaving it on for an hour, wiping off and then using the mud product and brushing. I think it was that the shaving cream softened the leather a bit and helped remove whatever oils / grime was used in manufacturing. I seriously LOVE this kind of content and when I was young wanted to be an equipment guy. Just the ritual to it, the careful control of the aesthetic, ….
