  1. Funny story, Zac Dysert was my wife's last boyfriend before she met me ?
  2. I thought it was very well done. I love how Coach McDermott puts such an emphasis on energy, intensity, the team, etc. Nothing on this team is about the individual, it's all about the team. He has an incredible command on the locker room. Excited to see more of these, and very excited for the regular season to start!
  3. I thought the same. The only one he had something positive to say about was Deshaun Watson. basically I look at it like this... If a white player came out and basically named all the black QB's and said that they're all "trash", it would be all over the media that that player is a "racist". Just sayin'
  4. Maybe, or Daboll just wanted to get a lot of pass attempts in to evaluate the QB's. I wouldn't read too much into the play selection in the first preseason game. I doubt the game plan was philosophy-based, probably more evaluation-based than anything.
  5. no. Just.... no. he had two good series' in a preseason game. His actual regular season performances to this point greatly outweigh 2 preseason drives. Who's trading for that? Other than Cleveland, who has their starter AND first overall pick QB?
  6. My concern with it is that, as all judgment calls, there are going to be WAY too many of these calls that they just plain get wrong, and they can change the outcome of a game. I saw one last night, where a guy hit him, with his facemask (head up) and was called a penalty. The plays happen so fast, it's hard to see without the benefit of slow-motion replay. This rule is going to change games with bad calls.
  7. This is the dumbest take I've read on here in a while. Maybe the coach has no desire to run the risk of sending pre-season game ONE (of which the final score has zero relevance) to overtime and get someone hurt?
  8. Yeah. Agreed. A couple of my Panthers-fan friends commented on Murphy as well and how good he looked.
  9. It definitely wasn't a Cam Newton-style, 3 feet over his head, uncatchable ball, that's for sure.
  10. I thought Julian Stanford looked awful. He was wearing number 51 right? He was the one guy that stuck out to me as, "this guy has no business being on this team." Got burned, overran plays, I didn't see him make a good play (I did miss a bit of the late 2nd and early 3rd quarters putting my son to bed, so it's possible he made some good plays and I missed them.)
  11. It was slightly behind. But that's a catch you have to make at the NFL level. Not every single pass is going to be dead on the money. That pick is absolutely on Ivory. And I am 100% NOT a Peterman fan. But No way can I blame that on him.
  12. Kid has a cannon for an arm, that's for sure.
  13. To go along with your Daboll point and the personnel combinations. It was great to see, in the first preseason game, the guys execute. They were changing personnel groupings, at some points, EVERY DOWN. And there didn't seem to be much confusion on the players' part. They seemed to know what they were doing. Didn't see any timeouts called because guys didn't know where they were supposed to be. Even when the 3rd string guys were on the field. Kudos to the coaching staff for having them prepared. All in all, I am as encouraged as I could possibly be after the first preseason game. I know it's only preseason. But I live in Charlotte and only get the Panthers broadcast... and even their broadcast team was talking about how one-sided the first half of that game was in favor of the Bills. I thought Robert Foster looked great also. He had 2 steps on the Panthers DB's more than once... that one that Allen overthrew by a step sticks out in my mind. The dude can certainly run! Some of my Panthers-fan friends have been talking about him this morning and how good he looked as well.
  14. Draft kings has games in the preseason??
  15. While I think this is (possibly) great news that it's not nearly as common as we thought.... Haven't we been told over and over that the only way to confirm CTE was for the person to be dead and you have to actually examine the brain? How the hell did they do a study with LIVING people, and go, "whelp, no CTE!"
  16. I've never understood the "new stadium" nonsense. I live in Charlotte and there was a lot of talk about how once the Panthers were sold, they would "have" to build a new stadium to replace the old, outdated one. I've been to a few games there (mostly all Bills games). It's a pretty nice damn stadium, compared to NEF. And I LOVE New Era Field. Some of my greatest memories are there as a kid. I just feel building a new stadium will alienate a HUGE portion of the fan base that simply won't be able to afford single-game tickets, let alone PSL's. Lets face it, Buffalo isn't exactly a white-collar town, where people just have 25 grand laying around (per seat) to throw down for a PSL. Did you watch the game when the Bills played in Atlanta last year in their big fancy new stadium? The home of the defending NFC champions, who took the previous year's Super Bowl to overtime, in the early part of the season.... you'd think there'd be TONS of hype. The place was EMPTY. If you want to kill the gameday experience and have a half-empty stadium, that nobody wants to pay for in the first place...... then yeah, go ahead and build a new stadium.
  17. Going with the over. The moment I read the thread title, the number that popped into my head is 6.
  18. Yes, but not for the reason of, "he's a second round pick so he should be on the team".... Do we really have six or seven wide receivers that are better than him? Unfortunately, no.
  19. I really don't like the race card here. In all honesty, I'm pretty positive just as many (if not more) hate Manziel as hate Cam.
  20. Yeah, we got to the playoffs. Was/am I excited about that? Hell yeah. But the fact is, we had the next-to-worst passing attack in the lead. We were fourteen yards away from being the worst. We got to the playoffs on the back of Shady, NOT Tyrod. Did he get us to the playoffs? Yeah, I guess you could say that because he was our quarterback. But if you think he's the main reason we got to the playoffs, and not Shady, and the turnovers created by our defense, then I think you and I were watching different teams last year. Furthermore, we made the playoffs at 9-7 in an incredibly weak AFC and, although the score was close, lost EMBARRASSINGLY to Jacksonville in the WC round. Again, was/am I excited about the playoffs? You bet. The last time we were in the playoffs, I was 10 years old. But if 9-7 in a very weak conference and barely squeaking into the playoffs on a miraculous 4th and whatever play by another team 800 miles away and then getting embarrassed in the playoffs is the goal here.... I'm not sure that's a team that I want to be a fan of. Thankfully, I know that this coaching staff has it's sights set much higher. We almost cannot regress at the QB position. We were fourteen yards from being the absolute worst in the league. So I guess, technically, we could regress those fourteen yards. But that's okay if it's with a rookie, still getting his feet underneath him, as long as there's progress. Insanity is leaving a 3-year starter, who just led your offense to the next-to-last passing attack in the league, in your offense, and expecting something to change.
  21. But this is the perfect example of the national media not having a clue about the Buffalo Bills. They go... "You got rid of Tyrod? His completion percentage and turnover ratio were really high, how are you going to win without him?!?!?!?" When anybody who actually watched this team play a football game last year will tell you that, yeah, he had those stats because he checked it down or didn't even throw the ball.
  22. We had the 31st ranked passing attack. I highly doubt we're going to "regress" at that position.
  23. I'm glad CBS sports has a damn editor. First paragraph: "ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The genesis of the Buffalo Bills' potentially epic 2018 draft can be traced back to 51 weeks before they actually selecting quarterback Josh Allenand linebacker Tremaine Edmunds both within the first 16 picks on that hectic Thursday night." Jesus my three-year-old would go.... "daddy that doesn't sound right!"
  24. Keep in mind, the FO four years ago and the FO now have literally nothing to do with one another.
