  1. Should be the way it's always been. did he make a football move? did he take 2 steps and then the ball came out? if so, then it's a catch and a fumble. This was never an issue for as long as the NFL was around until they started messing with it in the last 5 or so years.
  2. If it's for Rosen, I'm fine with it. Make it happen, Beane!
  3. That's kind of where I was going with this thread. What if Beane and Gettleman already have a deal agreed to, but are just waiting to submit the paperwork/announce it until a bunch of teams start pulling stuff like this?
  4. Or Gettleman has already agreed to give it to Beane.
  5. Not necessarily to derail the Jets, but any team that wanted to jump up there to grab our guy. If we can still get our guy and make them give up a bunch for nothing.
  6. I don't know. I just have this feeling. I have no "inside sources" or anything like that. But this just feels to me like Beane is sitting in his chair at OBD with a big grin on his face. Either they truly have no intentions of moving up from 12 and he made the Jets give away all of their draft capital, OR he already has a deal for #2 in place and didn't want to let anybody know.... Therefore the Jets STILL give up all of their draft capital, and still can't get in front of us. I don't know. It's just that everything they've done to this point has all been 2-3 steps ahead.
  7. Happy for Tyrod. Also happy he's the starter of their team, not ours.
  8. I love it. Watching McCarron's press conference now. Loving what I hear. I know it doesn't necessarily equate to play on the field. High-class, high-character guys.
  9. Great post, OP. Good stuff to hear from a fan who's actually followed him.
  10. Because the rookie WR class isn't much to write home about... That's why you see guys like Watkins getting these big paydays.
  11. You win the award for "most premature post"
  12. Exactly, and that's the difference. If he was a great player, teams would have no problem signing him. When you're a mediocre player, the play on the field isn't worth the baggage that comes along with you. Again, if it was Tom Brady, or pick a superstar black player for that matter, say, LeSean McCoy... it'd be a totally different story. When you're the absolute best at what you do, the teams will still sign you. When you're mediocre, it's just not worth it. And I'd argue that for most (I'm sure there are a handful) it actually has very LITTLE to do with race, but the way he chose to protest. Kneeling for the national anthem. If he'd been out protesting in the community, alongside citizens, or protesting in another way, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But your post generalized the people on this board as being racist... and that simply isn't the case. Are there a few? Sure. But that is a very low number.
  13. Why are we racist? Because we don't think he's a good player? What does that have to do with one's race?
  14. damn autocorrect!
  15. This isn't necessarily true. If Tom Brady were taking a knee, teams wouldn't give a crap. When you're a mediocre QB, the baggage isn't worth what you get on the field. Is Kaep a decent, OK Quarterback? Sure. Is he good enough to overcome the baggage? Hell to the no.
  16. No. Tyrod is better. For the love of god, someone please delete this thread.
  17. I don't understand what someone could possibly not like about this, on the Bills side at least. You were able to offload a huge salary, move up to #12 in the draft, while not really sacrificing any performance on the field, as Dawkins played just as well as Glenn last year. I think the Bills definitely were the winner in this trade. I can't think of a single thing to be upset about. It'd be one thing if we didn't have Dawkins.
  18. And the Browns stay in the pit of misery! Dilly dilly!!
  19. And with the big name FA QB's probably going for 20-30 mill a year, 10 million doesn't sound terrible for a guy who took a team to the playoffs last season.
  20. I'm no Tyrod fan, but........ A backup that led a team to the playoffs...
  21. It's a relief that we have a coach who understands that the job is not done. Unlike Rex, who thought we were a 16-0 team and didn't realize that you still have to work to get better.
  22. While I'll admit Tasker is average, I do enjoy his appearances on the John Murphy Show. Definitely has a different insight, even if I don't necessarily agree with it. It's not just the same old talking points. I don't think he's near as bad as you make him out to be. There are plenty out there that are MUCH worse. Maybe it's because I like him as a person and I'm a bit biased... but I've never had that "Oh my GOD will you just SHUT UP!!!" moment like I have with so many of the other "analysts".
