2nd Team O-Line better than last year's 1st Team
CLTbills replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. That's the point I was trying to make. It was hardly because of the O-line's "success" -
2nd Team O-Line better than last year's 1st Team
CLTbills replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While this is true, I'm not sure you can say it was because of the protection. I think it was more his ability to extend the play. With any other quarterback (or at least most), that "average time holding before passing" would have been much shorter because they would have been on their back a lot quicker. And I think a case can be made that Josh "holding on to the ball" was simply because we didn't have one single receiver that could get open on a consistent basis. Looking at last night, it's amazing what a couple good receivers can do for a young QB. -
Kicker is fine. Yeah, he finished last year making 6/11.... He was also playing hurt. Kickers don't just forget how to kick. Much to do about nothing. He's fine.

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-Season Game 1
CLTbills replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
By the way..... Isn't it nice that all of our griping and discussion is about who should be the #3 and #4 RB's? Kind of nice for a change...... -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-Season Game 1

And if that's the case, I don't know how any reasonable person could say that Yeldon deserves the spot ahead of Singletary -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-Season Game 1
CLTbills replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In all fairness, @GunnerBill didn't say that Singletary had a bad night. Just that he's not going to be the #1 back. He is NOT ahead of Shady or Gore based on his performance last night. He had a good performance, sure. But not elite. Yeah I'd have to agree. I know there are 3 more weeks, but as of right now, he's definitely the odd man out. -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-Season Game 1
CLTbills replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like it. I'll say this.... do we have areas we can improve? Absolutely. However, this time is light-years ahead of last year's group. Our defense is going to be NASTY (Yes, I know Luck didn't play). Offense, while not KC Chiefs, will be efficient enough to score 24 points a game. With as good as our defense looked last night in their first outing, that will be plenty. Only really saw one bad throw from Josh, which was the one at Zay's feet on 3rd and I think 5. But he also threw a beauty that Zay dropped as well. I also saw some improvement from Josh as far as extending the play. Last year, when he felt pressure, he'd just tuck it and run. Last night, it seemed like he would use his feet to extend the play, but didn't just take off. He kept his eyes down field, looking for a receiver and the best thing was, when he didn't find one, he threw it away. -
7 Year Old's First Game - Preseason? WTF?
CLTbills replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be bringing my four-year-old for his first game next week, when the Bills come to Charlotte. Got some freebies from a customer of mine. We've done a handful of baseball (Charlotte Knights and/or Kannapolis Intimidators) games, and it's hit or miss. Sometimes he sits and watches, sometimes he just wants to run around. It's the age. And you wont have the drunks at a preseason game, for the most part Here's to hoping our kiddos end up loving the Bills as much as we do! -
What say you? Predict tonite’s outcome...
CLTbills replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First and foremost, no injuries to either team. Other than that, I just want to see some time for Josh to throw and to see him make good decisions and accurate throws. That's really all that I care about tonight. -
How many Bills games have you been to
CLTbills replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
probably around 40. I've had the opportunity to see them play some away games, too. At the Jets in the old meadowlands, Cincinnati, and here in Carolina. This coming week will be my third Bills game here. -
Colts vs. Bills, 1997. Early in the season. I was seven years old. The thing about that game I remember, is we were down 26-0 in the second quarter. Bills came back to win late on a big run by Antowain Smith to take the lead late in the 4th quarter.

Shady's combined yards from scrimmage in 2019...predictions?
CLTbills replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
my first thought when i read the question was 1500. I was surprised when i clicked it and it was an over/under of 750. I think he blows it out of the water... only question is by how much. -
Collection of Josh Allen Feedback from Camp

Just goes to show.... none of this camp stuff matters until they're on a game field. -
Unofficial depth chart released before Preseason Game 1
CLTbills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At whose expense? short of trading McCoy (which I'm 99.9% sure isn't going to happen), how does he get out of the #4 slot? They're not cutting Shady or Singletary, and I have a hard time believing they'll cut Gore before him. I could be wrong, I just don't see him out-performing those 3 in any way, shape, or form. And I can't see them carrying 4 RBs. Good problem to have, though. -
What if Matt Barkley gets hurt?

All aboard the Tuel train!! -
Do you like joint practices in TC?
CLTbills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely. During camp when your QB makes a great play, the negative side of me goes, "our defense is terrible!" and likewise, if the defense makes a nice interception, the narrative is, "Our QB just throws interceptions!"... It'll be nice to see them against another team, for sure. -
The good news about Kyle Peko's wife
CLTbills replied to TigerJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cancer sucks. Period. Congrats on winning your battle, @TigerJ. I've had way more of it in my family than any one family should. Lost my dad when I was a senior in high school, among several other aunts, uncles, etc. It blows. -
You're only as strong as your weakest link
CLTbills replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get all the hate for this post. There are multiple position groups that are going to see guys that might be the #2 on another team get cut. WR, CB, and RB all come to mind. It's a good problem to have, trying to decide which ones to keep when they're all capable of producing. There are guys that started on this (#2 overall) defense last year that may get cut because we've brought more talent in. Definitely the first time in a long time I can remember having this kind of depth of quality talent. Not like having 3-4 great players and a bunch of backups in starting roles. Just think back to last year. We were trotting out Vlad Ducasse as a STARTER, and he started yesterday with the third string OL. The point that I think the OP is trying to make is this. If our worst player is a guy we don't want to get rid of because he's actually a dang good player that can start on another team, that's a pretty good problem to have. Lay off, all you Negative Nancy's -
Who's Most Responsible for Pats* Dynasty: Brady or Belichick?
CLTbills replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many do they have without Belichick as the head coach? Remember when Brady blew out his knee, and Matt Cassel, who hadn't started a football game since high school, led them to a 10-6 record? I don't think it's any question who's more responsible. -
Oh I agree. Makes me wonder what kind of influence this particular coaching staff had on him to keep him on the straight and narrow. Because it's not like he was here one season and stayed out of trouble. It was a several year period of, thankfully, none of this craziness. But then again, I don't even think that necessarily is the case, because his first two years here were under Wrex. Just very intriguing why he was good here for a couple years, and then it seemed like the second that he left, it all came flooding back.
-
It's unfortunate. It really seemed like he had it all together here in Buffalo for once.
