We all have female relatives and having them doesn't change the fact that there are still two types of women: victims and victimizers. Just as you hear stories of what happens to your daughters' friends, I've heard of stories involving manipulation at the hands of females that either did or could have resulted in severe punishment for the guy involved with her. AB is a rather flamboyant personality, he's no saint, but that doesn't blur the picture for me; too many times a halo gets placed over the heads of horned figures, on the strength of being female. I'm not going for it.

Was the O Line Good, Bad, Or Indifferent in Game 1?
BurpleBull replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh Allen finally has time to scan the field...Bills are still the Bills at running the ball. I'll leave it at that. -
My belief before the season began was that if the Bills were able to beat the Jets twice, beat the Browns, and avoid major injuries, that they'd be a team right at the top fighting for a wildcard berth, or that they would make the playoffs outright while other teams in the AFC were battling for that last spot. I think both the Jets and the Browns are teams on the rise, so the Bills beating the Jets once in the fashion that they did on the road, is a good indicator that Bills are also to be mentioned as a team on the rise IMO. I'm not buying that the Browns are as bad as that thrashing suggests they are, nor am I buying that Jets are 0-7 bad.

The Jets will not go 0-7...they're better than 0-7.

70 yds on 4 carries...pretty damn good.

Does AB set a dangerous precedent?

When I think of dangerous, I think of land mines and shrapnel. -

Noah Spence, Treadwell headline visits today
BurpleBull replied to PirateHookerMD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Laquon Treadwell has a past of being a featured player, putting up big numbers, and he has good speed to go with size; I feel always that players who haven't maximized their potential elsewhere, have a real shot at a redemptive story as a Buffalo Bill: the Jerry Hughes Effect. If Tyron Johnson blossomed into a special player, I'd welcome it but would be surprised because of the little I've seen of him through video clips; I'd rather take a chance on a player with 1st round talent, who hasn't panned out yet in his early career, than place hope in a less heralded WR becoming the next Robert Foster. -

I'd feel better about Laquon Treadwell as a Bill than Tyron Johnson, if the Bills were to sign him. -

He looks average to be honest, but at least he has some height to him, to go along with his straight-line 4.3 speed. -

Josh Allen studying Tom Brady (SI)
BurpleBull replied to Buffalo86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does Josh Allen really need film of Tom Brady playing smart football before doing it himself? The only person that can make Allen a more cerebral QB and curb his impulse to force things at times, is Josh Allen. -

Dawson Knox Playing on Friday!

I'll hold off on the excitement until he's shown flashes that he's the second coming of Dallas Clark. Glad he's getting on the field though. -
If you were to assign letter grades to Dawkins, Spain, and Long, what would they be?
-
Spain just doesn't strike me as very imposing for his size; I'd like to see Long get his shot at LG.
-
I think a lot of folks in here just knew that Spain came from the Titans---starting so many games for an organization that's had more recent on-field success than the Bills---and likely convinced themselves that Spain was really solid because he was so trusted in protecting their "franchise QB". I'm surprised at how Spain seems to be regarded a shoo-in at LG; I thought from the jump that he was being brought in to compete for a spot (RG specifically), but would ultimately serve as O-line depth if retained. I'm really surprised that Spencer Long doesn't even seem to be in the mix for the LG position, because he's who I thought would solidify the left side of the line playing alongside Dawkins.

What is weak link after game 2 of preseason?
BurpleBull replied to Orlando Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before preseason started I was saying how I didn't think Spain would be a starter; I thought Spencer Long was best suited to play LG. I still hold to Dawkins LT, Long LG, Morse C, Feliciano RG, and Ford RT as the most dominant lineup. -
I don't get it.

I guess you'll just have to be last to get onboard, after it's become abundantly clear how integral Devin Singletary is to the Bills' success; most of the positive attributes that he brings to the team were on display versus the Colts. I'm not saying you have some agenda to take away from what Devin Singletary brings to the table, but you seem to be trying really hard to not see what he brings to the table; maybe that's why you made mention of his last three carries being better than his first three (his 3rd and 5th carries were arguably his best), as if that has any bearing on anything. Perhaps you just have an affinity for LeSean McCoy: that might explain you stating, "It's still Shady's team", as if consensus is that McCoy's status on the team is currently being threatened by Singletary. Singletary displayed the same attributes found in his FAU highlight reels; he showed the excellent vision and ability to slip tackles. He also showed the ability to catch the ball: something he did very little of in college. Devin Singletary set the Bills' up for 2nd-and short rushing the ball, 3rd-and-manageable after a 2nd-and-10, and accounted for four of the Bills' eleven first downs by the time he exited the ballgame (two rushing and two receiving). My biggest concern was Singletary's ability as a pass protector given his size, but during the broadcast it was mentioned that Sean McDermott didn't see it as a point of concern because Singletary had shown well in that area during camp. I haven't felt as confident in a Bills' running back going for positive yardage each time he touched the ball since Fred Jackson; if Singletary holds up in each of the areas mentioned, then there would be absolutely no reason to keep him off of the field, or reason to believe that he wouldn't be an All-Time great Bills' RB when his career was all said and done.

Bills Training Camp Day 13 (8/11)
BurpleBull replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perhaps it was because he was going against 2nd string players, but when Ford moved to RT he actually looked more at ease IMO. There were a few points in the game where a speed rush attacking the interior of the O-line seemed to overwhelm Ford while at RG; I thought NFL speed rushers could give him problems at RT and that he was probably better suited at RG, but he looked more vulnerable as an interior blocker. Not horrible, just more vulnerable than I expected.
