JA will get his payday, for sure and he deserves every penny of it, however, by aligning the roster with young players on rookie contracts all but guarantees a little money left over to fill in holes on the roster, gives us a chance to compete and still pays JA. Everyone complains if they don't make a big splash in FA, but if the current roster of rookies and low wage contracts can carry the load, then maybe our FO isn't doing such a bad job in looking long term to ensure we still have JA on the roster and a decent team around him.
