Unless they can get pressure on the QB and lighten the load for our CB's/DB's, then i can't really see any difference.

So......limiting penalties (which have been atrocious for us this year), play fundamentally sound (like actually making a tackle, which has been horrendous for us this year), and forcing your opponent to earn everything (like always giving up huge chunk yardage in the air and rushing, which has also been horrendous for us this year) is not really the identity that we should be aspiring to. Also, this "bend, but don't break" D is more like "bend over and take it".........which to me, is the true identity to this team.

Honest question....... What is our team identity? I mean, we're not a run first or pass first team. We're not a down your throat running team. We're not a finesse passing team. We're not field stretchers.........and on D, we're not aggressive, we're not "in your face", we're not tough, etc. "Taking what the defense gives us" is not an identity, it's a system. I have tried to figure out an identity to describe this team and how it plays and i have no clue.

I sometimes have some problems logging into the site, but i highly suspect it's from too many cookies due to my high porn usage. That's a true story right there.

If, by "playing it safe", just keep doing what we're doing and spinning our wheels every season, muddling in mediocracy with our FO never addressing glaring needs and trying to ride the coat tails of JA, then count me out. I seriously think this regime has taken this team as far as they can take them and there is no shame in that, however, someone needs to be able to see that in the FO and make changes.........which will never happen.
