2025 Patriots coaching staff - How competitive will they be?
Sweats replied to FitzShowUsYourTitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
No, but i didn't think either of those would pan out too much and ole Sweats dropped the ball on that one, i can tell you. -

I agree with this. When Maye was drafted, i wanted him to go anywhere but the AFCEast. If he can figure it all out and learn how to turn it on, he's going to be a handful for AFC teams. I think he's a little ways out yet, but he does have the potential to be a legit threat and regardless of what people say, he's not a Mac and Cheese 2.0........he's got way more tools in his belt. -

I think the Pats will make strides and may even challenge us for the division, however, it won't be for a few more years yet and i don't care how good of a draft they have this season........i really don't see too many impact players that will be coming out without some major development, so our AFCEast crown is safe for awhile. -
Anyone else for using our draft capital for trades?
Sweats replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not saying they aren't productive in their 30's.........what i'm saying and you seem to have misunderstood, is that it might make the FO re-think a strategy of bringing in a player nearing their 30's. I'm not saying our FO won't do it, I'm not saying our FO will never do it.......i'm saying they may think twice about it. That's it, that's all. -

I didn't say Von was nearing his 30's, son........i said that the FO might reconsider making any moves for a player nearing their 30's as they saw that a 30+ player was trash..........much like what you've written here. -
Franks.......i put that **** on everything.

You see, now that's a turn off for me...........mine have to look heavily used.

With the amount of draft capital we'll have next season and opening up a bit more cap space, i'm feeling confident that we're going to put together another team that can compete, however, keep in mind that other teams in the AFC that only have a few more puzzle pieces are coming in hot themselves.

You see, Brady's time at LSU had him scheming for long balls by using the run and they were unstoppable, so i don't understand all of this underneath, pump and dump, middle of the field strategy cause it goes completely against what made LSU a force.

Trading a 1st round pick for a proven commodity like Diggs, proves that Beane will pull the trigger if he believes that player can make a difference, however, bringing in Von (although not a pick swap) may make him think twice about FA's nearing their 30's. In the beginning, i believed in the FO strategy of building through the draft, however, it's not really working for us, so might as well try something else and kick the tires on a new strategy. Maybe we should copy the Seahawks old approach?
Sweats replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd like a secondary that plays "proactive" and not "reactive", but you need guys with experience to be able to play that way........guys who have the experience to be able to read QB's eyes, tendencies, etc. and be able to project what play is coming or where the ball is going. We play way too much "reactive" ball and give up a ton of yardage due to our "bend, but don't break" philosophy and in the long run when you want to tighten things up in the post season, i don't know how you can possibly win like this. -
Does our coaching staff not analyze our own tendencies as well as tendencies against other teams? Do they not understand that what worked in the regular season needs to be changed up for the post season? We're not beating KC in the playoffs cause we play them the exact same way that we play them in the regular season. Reid is way too smart to fall for the same thing twice. He understands coverage, tendencies and throwing different looks in the post season and until our own coaching staff understands this, we are 2nd fiddle to KC.

Kurt Warner breaks down the 4th down. Allen error?
Sweats replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know it was a tough ask with so much pressure being in his face, but if JA would have just looked immediately to his left, he had Shakir wide open with miles of daylight in the flat........easily enough for the 1st down anyways. I would trust the ball more with Shakir making a play than Kincaid, that's for sure. -
Just some thoughts before I log off for a while...
Sweats replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think i'm going to log off for a while myself and i'm not sure how much NFL i'm going to watch next season. I'm a lifelong Bills fan and i own everything Bills, Bills tattoos, etc. but it's killing me, and todays NFL narratives just don't sit right with me........Hey, if you know, you know. It'll give me more time to focus on college ball (my one true passion.......the Bills too, but i might have to step away for a while and let everything just settle a bit). -
Still cracks me up that we gave Mahomes to the Chiefs

Don't forget Coleman for Worthy -
If he couldn't play, then why was he even on the field?

I agree 100%, however, no one seems to understand what the problem is, nor how to even correct issues that keep plaguing this team year in and year out, including the FO and coaching staff. I am from a highly technical background where you identify the issues, you plan to correct the issues, you implement a system to address and then proceed in tweaking to satisfy the concerns and then adjust as you go. Do you see where i'm going with this? Our FO and coaching staff clearly haven't identified what the issues are in keeping us from beating KC and if you can't identify what the issues are, then how do you address and correct? And don't say that our FO knows what the issues are because they clearly don't........can beat KC in the regular season but not in the postseason, have never addressed a true #1 WR, glue and pasted a piss poor pathetic D, etc. It's the same thing every year with this franchise. Here's the saying in the nuclear industry........"if you can't identify the problem, then maybe YOU are the problem" (referring to our FO and coaching staff)

Yay, participation trophies for everybody...........jesus, i can finally sleep tonight knowing we've been 2nd best over a 5 year span with no end in sight, mind you. Now i feel a ton better.

But what is Mahomes without Reid? -
I'd rather watch my pooch do the butt skooch across all of my carpets before i waste one minute on this SB.........that's a true story right there.

Gut feeling...how would we have fared against Philly?
