  1. I don't get how people aren't understanding how his cap # is basically meaningless at this point. the bills will have money to spare coming out of the offseason. his cap hit isn't affecting anything and its done after this coming season. also, while I think his skills have deteriorated, I think he's MUCH more valuable to the team as veteran leader and presence than any 5th or 6th rounder would be..... and make no mistake the bills wouldn't get anything more than that for him.
  2. are people really gonna do this again?.... it didn't happen when mccoy had any real value and it wont happen now that he has slim to none on the market. yeldon is merely depth. and who the heck cares about his price? it literally doesn't affect anything. the team will most likely go through the whole season with plenty of cap to spare and his deal is done after this year. not liking high priced running backs has little to no bearing on this situation.
  3. i would agree with that and I think the big move for solid role playing vets that can fill holes NOW in FA tips a hat towards that... I think he'll go to a team picking late, with an established roster and by 2020 it'll be absolute ROBBERY.
  4. @GunnerBill. Would Simmons be higher without the injury or is this already strictly off film alone? That being said, you can’t take a guy at 9 that might redshirt, right? Or can you? He just really interests me. Could they potentially trade back, Pick up Simmons(elite talent) in the 15-20 range, and nab an extra 2nd out of it to make up for him most liking being a PUP sort of guy until late season? .... is it likely he slips all the way into the 2nd? I would assume by the late first a team with an established roster is gonna see you only one elite guy(Simmons) left and easily pull the trigger. Im just firing spit balls here. But that scenario is interesting to me..... although I doubt it would be popular amongst the majority.
  5. They wouldn’t need to explain the move from a behavioral aspect in the least. If they made it it would be obvious why. Top DE that has kept his nose clean as a pro. College troubles are a none issue. I agree that our 9 is too much compensation.
  6. Could you cite any other trouble he’s gotten in since his dismissal from school? I can’t find any. So far you’ve said he threatened a reporter, which he didn’t, and have said he hadn’t stayed out of trouble since his college issues. And again, I’m not 100%, but after some mild digging I think that’s fairly false as well. Again, if the price is right, this dude has done nothing in the last 4 years for us to think he couldn’t work in buffalo
  7. If their only reasoning for not wanting him is because he got convicted of a felony as a college kid, meanwhile staying out of trouble ever since, then I would seriously worry about them running the franchise. There may be plenty of other factors in there that we don’t know about as they have access to info we never will. but if your reasoning is the main reason why then I would be worried about the intelligence of who’s running the team. Seems you may be projecting your own definition of “process” here...... I would hope they are smarter than that. And I’m confident they are
  8. National FOOTBALL league. Not the national Good Samaritan league. He was a really dumb jerk of a college kid.... Dude has been clean as a whistle for over 5 years now. He never threatened a reporter. He said she could have job cleaning his fish tank when her career was over. Get over it man. If the asking price is right, you bring him in. No brainer.
  9. fair enough. its odd to me that one person sees ROUNDS of difference from others saying a guy is gonna go in the top ten. something there doesn't jive. I guess we'll know soon enough. I've personally never put in the work, so I don't hold the right to have a strong opinion one way or another for any of them. i'm painting in broad strokes. with allen he was basically regarded as a top 10 guy. there are always outliers, those are the ones i'm trying to understand. jones? I would say 90% of what I've seen is anywhere from borderline top 10 to early 2nd.
  10. serious question here. i'm not trying to be a jerk. didn't you have allen as a 3rd rounder when every name brand draftnik had him in the top of round 1? he very well may pan out. I would argue down the stretch he looked 100% deserving of pick #7 overall. now you have a 4th on this kid while basically everyone we see on tv being paid to do this has him in the 1st..... at what point does everyone else not have the problem here and maybe your evals need some tweaking? I only ask this because we aren't talking about a couple of picks. we are talking a HUGE difference between what you are seeing and what it seems everyone else under the sun paid to do it is seeing.
  11. A lot of the same people that KNEW josh Allen was the wrong pick will be popping up to say they KNOW this one won’t work out either. I always chuckle when people act like they “know” how a player is gonna turn out. IMO anyone with a level head can see that if the draft has taught us all one thing it’s that having strong opinions on players is usually a silly approach. FTR there are a couple others I would much rather have there, but i’d be fine with metcalf.
  12. I like that 1600 number. I would add being able to pop it off at around 4.5 a carry would really loosen things up from the pass game. I think that's all do-able.
  13. these are all really fair and informative points. thank you. now with that said i'll ask you a question..... as a team that i think we call can agree is devoid of outside talent, why did they just let him walk? and do you think they'll skip a beat without him? i'm not trying to be a jerk. i'm honestly curious. IMO they wont skip a beat. plug in another journeyman and away they go.
  14. ya. I read it back and thought that could have happened. I was agreeing.
  15. uh no.... where exactly is the miscommunication here? I've basically said he was overhyped by the fans and media after a big playoff game and pedestrian regular seasons.... if somebody wants to say he's a solid #3 i'm cool with that. wheres the issue? and how did you get the bolded from what I responded to you with? I was agreeing. I think maybe you thought I was being sarcastic?
  16. that was a calculated strike against yours truly...… I've been clenching my *** cheeks the last 10 minutes trying not to respond to it directly. right. ok.
  17. his first season there he went off and had 9 for 180 in the afc title game and a large chunk of fans and national media crucified the bills for letting him walk for about a full year after that. "even a blind squirrel....."
  18. his high in buffalo was 450. his high there was 680.... sooooo much better. i'd be ok with a rings argument but a numbers one isn't very accurate.
  19. must be that time of year..... i'm fairly certain it was around this time last year I passive aggressively hinted I wanted you hit by highway traffic. ?
  20. why would you even do this.... there's so much context missing there. i'm seriously shaking like a gremlin sort of irritated by that statement right now. not gonna touch it. not gonna touch it. not gonna touch it...….. as far Hogan goes. I think his huge playoff game a couple years back, against Pittsburgh maybe, added a bunch of fuel to the fire. it shouldn't have. but it did.
  21. I never commented on him one way or the other because I never cared enough for him to get in a debate. this is as far as I've ever gotten..... and I'll say from what I noticed during my lurking on the subject. people cared way too much about his departure and one great playoff game in NE totally inflated peoples perception. I would agree but WEO already put me in my place ?
  22. season high in NE was only ever 680 and if you come on this board the last couple years you would have thought we let a first ballot wr walk..... never understood the hype.
  23. The poor guy is never going to be able to hold a job without Zay following him out of the huddle and physically putting him where he needs to lineup. .... what a bum.
  24. don't you mean plenty of tread on the tires? lol. not a lot of wear on them.
  25. he was a dominant run defender though.... if he shows he can still penetrate in the run game at that size he cant sit. no way.
