Who Was Better: Bruce Smith or Reggie White
Stank_Nasty replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i'll be honest. i'm not sure which way I would go here. I think bruce would be more revered nationally had he got just one Lombardi... I guess might give a slight nod to white, but I don't think lining up over the RT the majority of the time helps his case in the least. Bruce most definitely faced more talented tackles on the left side. -

I would think it would be about flip flopped but the average football fan isn't paying attention to schemes and what side of the line a player is lining up on. -

cant believe no one has brought up the fact that white lined up over the RT most of his career. its hard for me to pick one over the other but bruce lining up over the more premier position, LT, definitely is a notch he has on white. -

you just sound like the average fan that cherry picks stats and games and reverts to title talk in a debate. no biggie... you probably don't know anything about that 91 eagles defense I talked about either...…. because championships. BTW if that broncos offense was horrible what does that makes the bills offense from 14? they scored a point less per game and had 500 less total yds.... putrid maybe? horrendous? yet somehow they still had a winning record.....hmmmmmmmm but I get it. you don't care about any sort of sensible research...… because they didn't show up for a game against the raiders. MY BAD. also you'll notice I said I think the broncos d was slightly better. that's not the issue here. fans that actually know their history and do their research ARE the minority. you are correct.... you do you, boo. I think we can both agree this has gone about as far as it needs to go. you have a great day. -

I don’t really know. I think it’s a lame one whatever it is though... Production-wise the bills 2014 d was right on par with that broncos d. Actually better in most key stats. I do think the broncos unit was a bit more high octane with a better ability to totally put the clamps on somebody... But we never got to see the bills unit in the playoffs due to them be a lesser TEAM. I have no clue how somebody could sit here and say that wasn’t an elite level unit. Seems you are ripping on the couple bills fans that remember when maybe you should be educating yourself so you remember as well instead of cherry picking games to prove a sub-par point. 1991 eagles defense was one of the best ever, talent-wise and numbers-wise and didn’t even make the postseason. I’m sure you’ll shoot that one down with some lame points about championships too..... team game, man. This honestly just looks like I’m trying to discuss something with some bull-headed fan that’s not gonna use any sort of real discussion or reason in the matter just “CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! RABBLE RABBLE” How about take 5 minutes to educate yourself. Or maybe you already have and just don’t care “because championships”. In which case that’s just odd to me... The “few bills fans” are actually the ones that have a bit of knowledge on the matter. Why make that sound like a bad thing? it’s a team game and that the bills defense, statistically, was comparable and honestly was on a talent level as well. Not quite as good. But comparable for sure. The most ignorant debates are the ones that start or end with “.... uhhhh because championships!!” -

The bills 2014 unit allowed less ppg, had more sacks, more takeaways and a better 3rd down % than the 2015 broncos unit. Basically the only advantage that goes Denver would be total yds. That 2014 bills defense is one of the more underrated units in the last decade or so. It was easily a championship caliber defense. -

This is horribly inaccurate. That defense was 4th in points against, and 4th in total yds allowed. Not to mention 3rd in takeaways and 1st in 3rd down %. Good lord dude. -
"Pump the Brakes" Narrative by Reporters and Analysts
Stank_Nasty replied to tumaro02's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
its the same premise to me as when the bills had a hot start in 17 and half the fans wouldn't let themselves enjoy it or let their "guard" down until they made the playoffs. sorry, but you just missed out on half a season or more of good football... not this guy! I choose to enjoy the whole damn ride! what a fun season that was through the highs and lows! to the the reporters and even a handful of board members saying what you have explained..... I wouldn't pay it much mind. I'M EXCITED! that's part of the fan "process" for me. I love what i'm seeing and i'm gonna let it ride! its still early! don't buy into the hype just yet!..... it could end up being an awful day! ? -
Who goes up on the Buffalo Bills “Wall of Shame”
Stank_Nasty replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
cant believe maybin hasn't come up yet..... the bum held out and was so bad afterward they wouldn't even dress him. he was the name that immediately came to my head when I read the title. -
is the OP's title really that outlandish? I personally have always thought the chances of jones being on the roster were solid, but I cant call it outlandish when somebody liking the additions beane has made and teaming with the fact that jones hasn't been good and predicting jones may not make the roster. that's not some crazy over the top prediction. and like the OP has stated the improvement from year 1 to year 2 was basically like polishing a freaking turd. hopefully he takes yet another jump.

OTA Phase 3 updates 5/28 - media will be present

the clay drop over the middle vs the jets where he had room to run comes to mind and a handful of the usual characters around here were out in full affect with the "ya but it shoulda been a better throw" BS that always accompanied a timely clay drop. would be nice to see our qb's hopefully get rewarded trusting their wr's with some "area code" throws this year. happens all around the league on a weekly basis other than in buffalo it seemed. -
or Rahim morris taking a time machine back to his pop warner days as he totally whiffed on that awful prayer of a pass that flacco launched into the mile high air.... I agree flacco played great during that run but it never should have went further than Denver IMO..... what an awful throw and an even worse play by the safety.

Some more Ed Oliver titbits

Randle came out of college at 247 but was well into the 270’s and 280’s by the time he broke through. -
I’m really hoping for his sake he’s drunk. Sadly I don’t think he is. Let’s not forget that he was “ride or die” for peterman until the very end. I dont know of anyone, bills fan, media, or other teams fans, that know football and think white is “tier 2”

right on. I just remember that name always being concerned and having to take breaks from the board for "high level business meetings" quite often. -

Looks like somebody must have missed the 200 different articles explaining what his role was at Houston as opposed to what he’ll be asked to do for the bills. And sacks going up isn’t just dependent on Oliver’s raw numbers. It’s the fact that an Interior push makes Hughes MUCH more lethal coming around the edge.
