  1. Best QB in the NFL if he wants to be. Unfortunately I'm not sure if he truly wants to be that. Or better phrased.. put in the required work/discipline to be that.
  2. First thing I thought of when I heard that he was getting surgery. Absolutely insane.
  3. Trading for Derrick Henry plays out in two ways (IMO): -It transforms the Offense and we brutalize teams that try to play shell defense on us.. which then opens things up down the field. OR -The season continues to spiral. Henry looks washed in our Offense, and we look back at this season like what the **** was all that?
  4. Tight Ends across the league drop passes... even the top tier ones. High end TE's aren't equivalent pass catchers to high end WR's. Knox isn't Kelce or Kittle, but he's good, and would have a legitimate market if we looked to move him in the off-season. Or we can keep him, like I said, he's a good player.. I just think we're about to find out that 12 personnel was a failed experiment and/or one that we just could never fully realize.
  5. IMO, yes, he is. He's a good player. I also think he's a luxury contract on a team that can't afford luxury contracts like his. Nothing against him.. If we weren't up against the cap, I wouldn't say the following.. BUT.. I have a feeling the Offense will look better in increased 11 personnel moving forward this season. Kincaid is already a better pass catching TE, and his run blocking is adequate.. as a rookie. It's time to look for a trade partner in the off-season for Knox.
  6. We have a couple extra Day 3 picks. -I can't imagine Hopkins would cost more than a Day 3 pick. He's also under contract for next year.. and while we'd have to find a way to get his contract under the cap next season, it pushes off the need to draft a WR, assuming Gabe Davis walks in Free Agency. I'm saying "need" because I'd still like the Bills to draft one high regardless. -I'd offer Elam in a player for player swap to a team that has a CB or DT that could help us. It seems pretty clear he's not a fit for McDermott's Defense, and we have nothing else behind Benford & Jackson (and truthfully, Jackson should be the depth corner). -DT is where I'd be willing to make a splash, as we only have Oliver under contract for next year. A multi-year player trade makes sense here.. even if it costs a higher pick. The cap next year is prohibitive to doing all this.. UNLESS the Bills are willing to let some guys walk, cut aging core guys in Morse, Tre and Poyer, while exploring a trade to get Knox's cap hit off the books. If they are.. we can both revamp this team before the trade deadline AND build a foundation for next year.
  7. The Offense has been a disaster for 4 out of 7 games. It took them an entire half to wake up against a defense missing their top pass rushers, which is devoid of talent to begin with, The Defense still has: Greg Rousseau Ed Oliver Leonard Floyd AJ Epenesa Taron Johnson Terrell Bernard Micah Hyde Jordan Poyer Von Miller (we hope, at some point) They desperately need something to click or be added to the IDL... but there is enough talent for McDermott to keep this group middle of the pack. We likely don't make the playoffs, let alone make a run to the Super Bowl, with our Offense doing what they've done through 7 games. ....and maybe we have in-house fixes, but when teams are taking away deep shots and that's literally all our "WR2" is good for in the passing game.... we have a major personnel problem.
  8. Honestly, the more I see from Gabe Davis the more I think he "should" be shipped out. He's a luxury high end WR3 on a team that can move the ball. One of the better non-WR1 big play WR's in the league. But we can't move the ball consistently, because he's the WR2 out there. It's not all his fault, we obviously have other issues.. but he has a horrible skillset as WR2 for this new NFL where teams just sit back taking away deep stuff and force you to move the ball in the short/intermediate, without making mistakes. If we can keep him as WR3, great... but if he's needed as piece to upgrade elsewhere.. I'm beyond ok moving him.
  9. I'd be more than content with Hopkins and a Defensive piece added before the deadline. -Hopkins, because I think he's one of the few WR's potentially available that Allen will feel obligated to look his way. I also like his contract for next year. -And we need something on Defense. I'd prefer a DT over LB, but maybe (wishful thinking) they believe they can get Daquan Jones back later in the season. I can't imagine it would take more than a couple Day 3 picks we have stocked up to make these moves, unless the Defensive piece is something out of left field.
  10. I'm torn between "this is just to create more money for in-season call ups/financials" and "THIS SOUNDS LIKE D-HOP MONEY"
  11. Going to listen to this later, but it seems like the other guys who break down tape all agree with Joe Marino here. Disappointing to see a guy who worked so hard when he came into the league to become someone who had control of this at an elite level, all of a sudden regress in certain games to the point where he's one of the main culprits of our offensive woes. I'm not one to say he isn't putting in the work or he's distracted, but something is off. The stuff he's been struggling with lately is all cerebral....and all stuff that he had made a strength of his game before.
  12. I remember people wondering out loud if SF could go undefeated last week. NFL comes at you quick.
  13. Vikings WR’s have some sort of sorcery that forces defensive backs to give them the ball when it’s uncatchable. Also, give me the Niners rolling up against the Bengals on a 2 game losing streak.
  14. You are correct. You also have the pleasure of rooting for a team with elite offensive coaching. We have straight up nonsense right now and have to hope for the coaching staff’s hand to be forced.
  15. What a bizarre thing to say…
  16. No, he won't. Yes, I'd hope he would. Reality is, should the offense struggle at home on TNF and we lose to Tampa Bay.... Friday will be a media bloodbath like we've never seen here.
  17. Really awful decision by McDermott. You've got to let him take his lumps. Especially when the guy behind him is so limited. And what did the Pats do when Dodson came in?... immediately attacked his limitations. While we're at it. Jackson is showing me nothing as to why we couldn't have seen what we have in Elam before the trade deadline. I know Elam was awful against the Jags, but he was serviceable against the Giants. On a defense increasingly devoid of talent, the "safe" options are much tougher to hide.
  18. Yup .. and the cap relief allows us much more flexibility moving forward. Maybe they hold out hope, but it seems quite obvious that Josh Allen performs better with 11 and Kincaid is clearly the better player as a rookie. We take a step back with blocking, but it seems very much worth the risk.
  19. It makes so much sense to trade Dawson Knox for a piece that fits (or recoup a pick we send out, along with his future cap relief) and go back to 11 personnel... which means we obviously won't do it.
  20. Miller, of course nobody is trading for him. Knox.. I do think there would be a market. He's a good player, and Tight Ends typically take time to develop. He's a vet and is capable of more than what we're doing with him in this offense. He's not elite, but he is good.
  21. This is why I think an offensive trade would have to be for a guy like Hopkins. Anything less than a WR that demands targets and A) Allen might not look his way and B) Dorsey may have no clue how to integrate them. A guy like Marshall, maybe even Jeudy... and I don't know that we can integrate them or if Allen will even trust to throw to them. IMO, it has to be someone that commands targets.
  22. I don't have the energy to rationally discuss Special Teams. For how heavily we invest in this unit, we better not be having any more conversations about them moving forward. Missed FG's, punt return for a TD in OT... gave up another big punt return yesterday. Feeling the need to justify their investment by playing games with their kickoffs. It's all exhausting.
  23. AFCE Dolphins Bills Jets Pats (not likely) AFW Chiefs Chargers (not looking good) Raiders (not likely) Broncos (not likely) AFCS Jags Texans (would expect them to fade) Titans (not likely) Colts (not likely) AFCN Ravens Steelers Browns Bengals AFC North is clearly the division to watch with all 4 teams having playoff aspirations, but they all have to play each other as well. Outside of the AFCN, the Chargers are the most talented team that, even with 4 losses, can make a run … but we also play them later this season so if they're alive, have a chance to take the head to head. Jets could hang around, but we get another shot at them, at home, in a few weeks. None of this matters if our Offense can’t figure it out and Defense keeps dealing with new injuries every week BUT the conference is kind of a mess.
  24. Agree, with the caveat of legit WR. Someone like Terrace Marshall, meh.. If they can bring in Hopkins, that's equally as big.
