We just did one last year.

What I would do but know the Bills won't do.. -Look into player swaps for Gabe Davis and Dawson Knox to bolster positions of need. What I would do that I hope the Bills will look into.. -Look at trading for a DT and WR. What I expect the Bills may do.. -A Nyheim Hines type addition on the Defense. Nothing earth shattering but helps with the depth/rotation.

Yea... Miami lost to Buffalo (in Buffalo) and Philly (in Philly). Bills have lost to Jacksonville, New York Jets and New England Patriots. Yes, all technically on the road (or a bizarro situation)...but wake me up when Miami loses to a meh team like we're clearly capable of doing. Because right now, they don't look like they can beat the elite teams, but they look like they'll take a flamethrower to everyone else.

I get it... but this is always going to be the issue for a big part of our fanbase when we have a defensive minded head coach and haven't made the "all-in" moves on offense that we have on defense. I mean, the defense gets Leonard Floyd and Jordan Poyer in Free Agency. The offense gets Connor McGovern and Deonte Harty. The year before, we didn't do much of anything for Allen, but signed Von Miller. This past draft was a step in the right direction, but for the defense to not just give up 29 points and a game winning drive, but also struggle so hard to just get off the field.. against, potentially, the worst offense in the NFL, is not going to sit well with anyone here. And yes, the Offense is 100% the biggest issue right now. No arguments here.. but I'm not giving McDermott and the Defense a pass for that game.

I (think) he can get back to 80% Von by the playoffs. (Hope) However, he’s unplayable right now. He needs the snaps, but we’re in a fight for our season right now and can’t afford to have a dude out there who just loops 20 feet around the QB every play.

In real life Josh Allen had an NFL average game yesterday.
SCBills replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Honestly, great post. That said.. Allen takes up a massive portion of the cap, which restricts our ability in other places. This will truly be the case moving forward. However, to your point, yesterdays loss was a complete organizational failure. In a big game, coming off back to back weeks where everyone in the building acknowledged things need to change … it was more of the same, and McDermott’s Defense decided to join the party. And spare me the injuries. Yes, we are very banged up on defense. The Patriots are one of the worst offenses in football and have injuries to their OL and skill positions as well. About to be benched Mac Jones played his best game of the year against us and led a game winning drive. This entire team is a let down right now, and we’re hoping our cover of Madden QB can save us… but he’s also part of the problem. Not to the same extent, but by elite QB standards… They have to elevate teams. Allen currently is not. He’s missing a lot of big throws and not seeing the field very well. He’s caught up in the storm of organizational failure when we need him to rise above it. Fair or not. -
A trade is the only way to save the season

If this season doesn’t turn around, it may be machete time for the roster. It might be time to do that regardless. Cut Tre, Poyer and Morse. Let Davis and Hyde walk. Look into trading Knox. We can restructure and/or extend someone like Epenesa to a more backloaded deal to hit the following year when we can part ways with Von Miller. Draft a RD1 WR and RD2 Center, then fill out the Defense with the rest of our picks. -
Defenses are forcing him to play QB, instead of being a playmaker. He’s capable, but refuses to do it consistently. Add in the fact our coaches have drilled into him not to run, to the extent that he won’t even do it on broken plays. He seems to be playing a position now that he doesn’t have any passion for.
-
I have to say …. Everyone I watch games with calls some of our offensive plays before the snap. To an absurd level. Allen bootleg in the red zone that was blown up. We all knew that’s what we were going to do. So did the Pats.

A trade is the only way to save the season

I’ve heard speculation on how Davis is loved in the locker room, super close with Diggs etc. Well, the offense shouldn’t have started off the season looking like a dumpster fire in 4/7 games. They can thank themselves if he gets shipped out. (I’d be shocked if they did, but Davis & Knox should at least have phone calls made to gauge league interest in player for player swaps) Honestly, getting younger probably should’ve happened on defense going into this year. The injuries have only exacerbated it. On Offense, I’m not convinced this offense doesn’t desperately need a new non-Gabe Davis outside WR. May be much better with Year 2 Kincaid and a high draft pick. But Diggs only has a couple more elite years left in him most likely. -
Valid, but I’m sorry… no. This Pats Offense is that bad and are dealing with injuries of their own. Pathetic performance from them today.

Someone tweeted “Dorsey turned Allen into Herbert”. This was a quintessential Herbert type game from him. I agree with most of what you said, but I don’t think Allen is playing situational football to anywhere near the caliber Mahomes does .. again .. consistently. And that’s a huge difference in the two. It’s a big reason why KC wins these games (typically) and we manage to lose a bunch of them. KC’s offense this year is not more talented than ours. They’re 6-1 and aren’t an unmitigated disaster for half of the year thus far.

He’s not consistently patient. You seem to be one of the few people who thinks that a controversial statement. In a stretch where our offense desperately needs to just stack first downs, he constantly neglects the quick check down/release to the flat because he wants something further down field and/or goes to the short pass a second late due to holding for a down the field play, which negates any YAC ability.
-
I critique Allen on the same level as Mahomes. You seem to be critiquing him on the same level as Derek Carr. I don’t expect Carr to lead a top offense. I don’t expect Carr to be consistently great. I don’t expect Carr to make high level plays. Because right now… Allen isn’t blameless as to why this offense has been a high variance mess these past 3 weeks. He’s on the cover of Madden. Makes a ton of money. He should be held to a higher standard. Not a “well he played a good half.. what more do you want?”
-
If we get our act together and Miami struggles with NE next week, I’ll entertain the division again. As of right now, I don’t see them losing to the Jags, Jets and Pats of the world.
-
I think you’re right and that’s terrifying.. I truly think the staff/team don’t know what to do to fix this.
-
Mahomes will be patient, even though you can tell he hates it. Allen refuses to do this for any extended period of time. This is the main difference between them right now. I honestly can’t tell if you’re being serious right now….

Who was the 3rd best player on our roster today?
SCBills replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
1) Kincaid 2) Cook 3) Shakir? OL worst game of the season. Allen struggled most of the game. Diggs no shot on a 50/50 ball and then drops our last gasp. Knox with another key drop. Nantz/Romo weren’t announcing, so Davis wore his invisibility cloak. DL was trash all game. Run game and no pass rush. LBs got washed due to the DL being dominated. Secondary somehow got carved up by a bag of milk who never once threatened them deep. -
Prior to today, I was always concerned that maybe the Bills can’t win it all led by McDermott. I hate, absolutely hate, that I’m starting to wonder the same about Allen.
-
Oh boy! Almost an entire half!!!
-
Allen missed two TD’s today and seemed to consistently miss the quick check down when it was apparent the offense was struggling and desperately needed to just move the chains. He’s been pretty meh recently but with a couple god-tier winning plays per game. Today he was meh, without those plays.

SCBills replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know they won’t, and I know there’s locker room chemistry to take into account, but actions have consequences and to try to improve at WR, DT, LB and/or CB.. I’d make Knox and Davis available. 12 personnel looks a mess. Kincaid/Morris and Edwards is fine by me. Both are good players. Not sure if they’re winning players though. This offense has been a high variance, up and down mess since mid-season last year. Something has to change. -
Yup .. just realized how sad it is that im rooting for KC because I have no hope any longer for the 1 seed. Just need WC teams to rack up losses at this point.

It’s exciting how we get to rehash alllll the same issues of our offense post-Green Bay last year, including the “Is Allen injured” question.
