Here's what The Athletic thinks the Bills should do at deadline
SCBills replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall
A lot of Twitter buzz from people who may have connections about the inactives tonight. Screams to me that someone is being held out for a reason... -
Personally, I don't care to see any non-red zone Josh Allen runs. All we want is for him to scramble like a normal athletic QB. Mahomes doesn't have designed QB sweeps/draws, but he runs all over the place in games. Josh Allen has been turned into a dude who think the LOS is made of lava.

Mike Johnson, New Speaker of the House.

Trumps guy was Jim Jordan. He got shot down, so Trump jumps in last minute to take credit for the winner. -
I don’t think anyone is really arguing this with you. We all know this.

Purdy in Concussion Protocol. Likely OUT this weekend.
SCBills replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great example of you NEVER know what your schedule looks like until you play the games. Bengals get SF without Purdy and Deebo. -
If Oliver wouldn’t be playing if we won last week, he shouldn’t be playing tomorrow night. Tell the Offense to man up and let the chips fall where they may. We’re already down 4 major contributors. We can’t keep having these lingering injuries to Oliver, Rousseau, Floyd etc etc.. At some point, this Offense needs to carry their weight and not walk into the locker room with their heads down in shame. If that doesn’t happen, we’re going nowhere anyway.

Make a run in our current state, with the current landscape … absolutely not. However we don’t know how the season unfolds. News out of Miami today that they may be without Tyreek Hill for a bit. Is this the year KC finally loses the major injury horseshoe they have? Can Burrow/Lamar make it through the season? We’ve been hit.. hard… with injury. Maybe it continues, maybe it doesn’t … but injuries around the league are a constant. Get to the playoffs and potentially get some guys back, and who knows.

If we didn't fall on our faces.. again.. I have to imagine Oliver would be held out tomorrow night, with the extended break coming up before SNF/Bengals. I hope we're not making personnel decisions based on desperation. Oliver can't be the make or break piece on this defense.
-
I didn't say it's a good defense. McDermott got a lot of praise from me when they were dominating and healthy. Not sure why he needs to be here much longer, sacrificing an offensive mind at hc for Allen, if they put performances like that against Mac Jones out there when injuries hit. And we have a lot of injuries. Some you can't control... some might require some introspection when so many young guys are dealing with nagging injuries all the time.

If the Bills lose tomorrow night, I'd understand not being buyers. They probably stand pat and hope they can fix things internally. They won't become sellers. That's absurd for people to suggest. You don't sell if you're in the mix with an elite QB. Are the Bengals going to sell if they lose to the 49ers on Sunday? Of course not.

Kelce is THE best receiving weapon in the NFL. By far, my biggest annoyance when people discuss the Chiefs is their focus on WR's, as if they don't have the ultimate cheat code in Travis Kelce. Jefferson, Diggs, Adams etc., for one year, I'm not even thinking twice and taking Kelce as my first pick after a QB. --- We really need Kincaid to pop, asap, because when you look at our weapons vs KC and cross out Diggs with Kelce, then go down the line.. it becomes embarrassing that we all thought our weapons were the best Allen's had in years, yet KC's ho hum group is still deeper.

Why do the Bills always defer when they win the coin toss?
SCBills replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm fine with it. It's good logic. However, our Defense apparently has zero clue how to stop the first 10-15 scripted plays, so perhaps that logic should go out the window. -
So.. to clarify... you're trying to tell me that our Offense putting up 3, 0, 3 in the past 3 first halves makes no difference to the way opposing offenses can attack our defense? I know it does, because the past two have played us conservatively by taking points instead of going for it on 4th and shorts. If we go up by two scores early on Mac Jones, does he sit back and throw a million 3 yard passes all game? Maybe, but I doubt it. Do they stick with the run, when it wasn't really going anywhere? Maybe, but I doubt it. Our team was designed to get up on teams early and then rush the passer. That was before the injuries. It's even more imperative now. You can't pin your ears back when the opposing offense is perfectly happy playing it safe and we're worried that giving up any big play could be the game.
-
If our Offense wants to help the Defense, they'll score points before mid-way through the 3rd quarter. That's pointing out the obvious, but furthermore, the effective in-tact portion of our defense is our pass rush, fast linebackers in space and ball hawking safeties. Allowing teams to run, bleed clock, dink & dunk all game neutralizes any remaining strengths we have on Defense.

If the Bills defense is healthy, they're 6-1 right now
SCBills replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is true. KC has won a bunch of rock fights with a healthy defense and that's where they are sitting. We just don't seem to have their luck. -
Our OL and weapons are both probably slightly above average. Take Mahomes/Allen/Burrow out of it.. What does this Offense look like with Cousins, Carr etc..? Probably reflective of the OL and weapons. Slightly above average. Now if Kincaid becomes our 2, Davis slides down to 3... I have a very different opinion of our weapons. But as of right now, our weapons are driven by Diggs, and everyone else, in their current role are... ok. As far as OC goes.. I honestly don't know. JA is capable of doing so much, that at times it looks like we're doing "too much". If we had a guy willing to constantly check it down, the ceiling isn't remotely as high, but the floor likely isn't as low as we've seen.

Right?... People out here acting like we're some confident fanbase right now. I'd be worried if we had to play UB at this point.

Bills now Vegas betting favorites to land Derrick Henry
SCBills replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jeffrey Simmons would instantaneously fix everything on this defense. Just like how if Daquan Jones didn’t go down, we probably dominate the Pats Offense. Not just because of the talent at 1T but because of what it does for LB and Coverage. No clue how we’re affording his contract in future years, but we do need a 1T for future years. -
Bills restructured Dawkins contract, create Cap space
SCBills replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh, it can be .. If we needed more operating money, we needed more operating money. Knox going on IR isn't any different than Trent Sherfield if he had to. Just a random distinction to make on his part. -

So the Bills were so cap strapped that they had to hope nobody else, in Week 8, would have to go on IR...otherwise we needed to restructure Dawkins? Is that what Wawrow is attempting to tell us right now? -

This.. doesn't make any sense. -

Unless this was purely done for roster call ups/operating money.. I don't think you pull a lever like this unless you have a move lined up. -

Diggs is elite at a lot of things... contested catches are not one of them. We don't have that guy on the roster. -
Best QB in the NFL if he wants to be. Unfortunately I'm not sure if he truly wants to be that. Or better phrased.. put in the required work/discipline to be that.
