  1. To me, I think it depends on how confident you are the Bills are for real .. and if they are for real.. figure it out, starting today. I want to believe that, but I need to see them win tonight to do so.. therefore I’m pulling for the Chiefs to keep us, at worst, one game behind Miami for the Division, with one game against them remaining and the tiebreaker if we sweep.
  2. Still cant believe the Chiefs pulled a Bills travel plan after seeing how it worked out for us. That being said … even though the Dolphins flew out early in the week, they weren’t there for over a week, with a game under their belt. It is what it is, but I will choose to remain salty about that for an inordinate amount of time.
  3. Yes .. The most common celebration in my family is hesitant excitement and the refrain of “No flags!? No flags!?” .. as we wait 2-3 seconds before we celebrate.
  4. I get where you’re coming from, but Beane mentioned he had been in talks with Joseph’s rep for weeks. We can’t force him to sign when, and for whatever amount, we are able to offer. Fournette replaces Damien Harris, who also brings that physicality. They probably waited to see how Harris’ situation plays out.. saw it will be a while, and then made the move. As far as Rasul Douglas, the foundation for that deal was also planted about a week or so prior, according to Beane. We clearly wanted the younger, potentially elite, player in Jaylon Johnson.. but once it was deemed Chicago was asking for way too much, we pivoted back to a guy we targeted as our B option earlier. Deals typically happen the day of, or before, the trade deadline for a reason. Deadlines spark action.
  5. Literally every breakdown I’ve heard talks about how the Bengals Offense needs to start strong. If they do, they’ll likely win the game. Fantastic news given our defense loves giving up points on opening drives.
  6. Yea.. big body DT seems like that sweet spot where teams can sign you for the last half of the season and you can still command decent money because 1) DL can be sign & play, without a ton of integration and 2) Big DT’s are not plentiful in the NFL.. if you’re one of them, and keep yourself in shape, there will always be a need mid-season.
  7. Agreed. That’s why 1T was such a big deal .. our linebackers are scheme fits to fly around behind a big DL that keeps them clean. This should allow Dorian Williams to get back on the field, unless they love what they stumbled across with Poyer at LB on passing downs.
  8. Mid-season, Bills spend a 3rd RD pick and 3-4M to get CB Rasul Douglas, DT Linval Joseph, RB Leonard Fournette and a 5th RD pick. Our Defense is now back to only having one glaring hole at LB.. which with the additions of an above average CB and proven, big body 1T, should be able to be schemed up to protect. This is about as good as we could have hoped for being cap strapped. Defense can reasonably be expected to be a strength again, once these two get up to speed. Well done Beane.. well done!
  9. I can’t dislike him…
  10. Nice! Sounds like Elam to IR could be one corresponding move if they make 1 of them active roster. Not sure what would be done to get a second active roster spot, should that be the plan.
  11. Whoa… ok, if the Bills turned down a 3rd Round Pick for Elam, this curious case of Kaiir Elam becomes even curiouser…
  12. Linval Joseph is a guy the Cover1 people keep saying they'd like.
  13. We’ll see what they do with Gabe and/or a surprise Mitch Morse cut, but outside of those two.. the rest of the Offense is coming back. -Allen -Diggs, Harty, Shakir, Shorter -Dawkins, Brown, Van Demark -McGovern, Torrence, Anderson -Morse, Bates -Cook -Kincaid, Knox If we let Gabe walk, I’d hope our RD1 pick is WR, but it’s likely going to be a heavy defensive draft at DL, S & CB. Cut Tre for 6M & extend Douglas at least gives us Douglas, Benford & Elam. No need to reach for CB, imo. DL is going to have to be addressed in a big way, without much foreseeable cap to do so.
  14. Tim Settle was a miss. We banked on him breaking out once he's not buried on a roster behind two elite DT's and he has not... at all. Beane can't predict Jones does down to injury. That contract, along with Oliver's contract... if Daquan stayed healthy were very much worthy of praise. Phillips and Ford are on cheap deals as vets because we are cap strapped. I don't know that I can fault Beane a ton for the DT situation.
  15. I mean, ok.. but Spencer Brown is healthy now and looks pretty good. Ed Oliver has become a top tier DT.
  16. He just stated that he's looking at adding a DT. Suh would be my guess. Off ball linebacker should not be a make or break position. It's the least important position on the Defense.
  17. Sounds like DT is incoming. Can't imagine Beane would publicly address him looking at adding someone in his press conference if he didn't think he had something lined up.
  18. Beane speaking on Elam dealing with an ankle injury and the potential of shutting him down to let him heal.
  19. I know you didn't ask me, but I'll answer.. because I think this is the key to our season. Kincaid needs to become a #2 option and Gabe Davis needs to show more of what he did last week, i.e. a more well rounded WR2 skill set. If we get that from them moving forward, this team can win it all. If not.. or if it's erratic again.. it's going to be a slog.
  20. Bengals looked great against SF, but SF is also looking rough lately. Cousins torched them the week prior, without Justin Jefferson. They also should've lost to Seattle the week before that if Geno Smith wasn't out there looking like an abject dumpster fire anytime they got inside the Bengals red zone.
  21. The talk this morning from the Packers reporter stating Douglas is a guy who should transition to Safety very well later in his career is pretty interesting..
  22. Elam is easily the most confusing player I've seen in recent memory. He was bad against Jax, but I would hope the Bills could admit that they set him up for a failure with being inactive all year and then starting him, under those circumstances, against the Jags in London. Outside of that game, he's been just as good.. if not better, than Dane Jackson.
  23. Have to wonder if the Packers wanted to do him a solid. Locker room leader, a guy beloved in the community and having his best year to date.. However, he is 28 and likely not a part of their rebuild, so maybe they wanted to do right by him when Beane made the call.
  24. Sure, it could .. maybe people who have some strange doom complex can provide more detail as to why they think this will happen … or they can just make themselves feel better by posting negativity, absent explanation, about their team. I actually wouldn’t pick us to win this game if I had to make a choice. I absolutely think we can, but we haven’t shown anything in terms of player execution, consistency and coaching this year, or against this team, that makes me confident in that. …but I’m not going to plaster social media with “this might get ugly” posts so that I can cope better. This team deserves better than that and if they want to be taken seriously, will come out and win Sunday Night.
