Buffalo Bills select Verzion as Founding Partner
SoCal Deek replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I cannot believe that the Verizon dude allowed them to use a blue helmet. Everyone knows their corporate color is RED, not blue, which is their rival AT&Ts color. Someone’s gonna get a talking to. -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
SoCal Deek replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
As you just happened to mention it, the new seat test video is also one of the best representations they’ve shown to date of the extent of the roof overhang. For good or bad. -
Again, huh? The moved the schedule release to a traditional DOWN MONTH to fill air time on the television network they own and operate. It’s not complicated. And it’s not a conspiracy.
-
Huh? What’s ridiculous about it? Would you prefer to just show up at the stadium this September hoping there’s a game and wondering who they’re playing? 😳

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
SoCal Deek replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s not weather that the contractor would be concerned about. The seats are designed to be outside in the elements for many years. It’s breakage from construction activity. And it’s just that sort of breakage that gets into protracted finger pointing between the various subcontractors on the project. As regards the overall schedule, it’s most likely not an indication of anything more than that the seats were ready, and delivered, so the General Contractor elected to take the risk of having them installed ‘early’. -

It sounds like a lot but I can assure you it goes really fast. That’s why I’m amazed to see them going in so early. What the construction team is generally concerned about is breakage if they’re installed too early. It’s the same with all finish materials like glass, cabinets, etc. -

What I noticed is that this wasn’t just a ceremonial test fit. If you look closely you’ll notice that they have the framework for the entire section’s seats already installed on the precast concrete risers. It’s pretty amazing considering there’s over a year left if the construction schedule. -
So by that account we have ZERO chance of playing in a Super Bowl in 2025. In short….we are doomed!

Thought Exercise: Best Bills QB (99-2017) who'd be JA17 backup
SoCal Deek replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Has to be Peterman. He’s the one guy that would keep Josh on the field no matter how bad any non life threatening injury might be. -
We’ve yet to lose a single game this year….so there’s that.

Huh? I believe the new pope is from Chicago. First American pontiff. Seems like the post had ZERO intent to be anti-ANYTHING! Relax.

TJ Watt Speculation after Pickens trade (Nothing Official)
SoCal Deek replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
They should just wait and see who falls out of the Browns training camp. He’ll most likely be young and darn cheap! -
So did I, but then again blocking was greatly discouraged in architecture school. 😉

First things to look for when the schedule comes out

4D chess. It’s all part of their D Line rotation plan. Masterful! -
Who’s your defensive surprise of the year?
SoCal Deek replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m praying it’s Bosa. After the disappointment of Von Miller it’d be fantastic if our high name recognition pass rusher showed up on the field instead of on the training table. Fingers crossed. -
The Bills strength is because of the AFC East….so don’t read too much into it. You’ll notice that Miami, the Jets and Pats are also above the line for the same reason.

For those who sit in the lower bowl, where’s your ideal view?
SoCal Deek replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Virgil… I imagine that you’ll regret if you’re not under the roof. ( I always say the same out here in Southern California if the shadow is just quite not reaching our row and we’re cooking in full sun.)So if it was me I’d definitely go for the first few rows of the upper deck. The new stadium is smaller and steeper so the sight lines should be perfect. my two cents -
It looked like a sea of people. Could you sit down? Were there restrooms anywhere around?

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
SoCal Deek replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
He probably wanted to drive by the new stadium to check out the amount of roof coverage before making a longer commitment. -

On a related note have you ever seen the graphic where they show the position of a baseball to home plate depending on the speed of a pitch? It’s pretty amazing how much different a fast ball is from a curve. A curve is something like six feet out in front of the plate when the fast ball is already crossing the plate. -

SoCal Deek replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks! Also true…and my point is it doesn’t even matter if he gets ‘open’. Thinking that the safety just sits on the underneath stuff because the WR isn’t quite so fast is plain foolish. A good OC designs the route tree to clear out for the underneath crossing routes no matter how fast the outside WR is. -
Are the selected players going to run through the reflecting pool to get to the podium like in Forrest Gump? 😳

What is your favorite totally random Bills game?
SoCal Deek replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Totally random? Okay…some similarly old fan can correct me but I think it was a preseason game when James Harris was at QB and he took a quarterback sneak something like 98 yards for a touchdown. I believe it still may be the longest play in Bills history…but being a preseason game it doesn’t register. -

SoCal Deek replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s true but it doesn’t mean that the safety allows a slightly slower WR to just run right by him. We’re talking fractions of a second on 40 yard times here. It’s as much about route construction and play design as it is about pure speed. -

That’s an amazing amount of progress in a single calendar year. With the superstructure completed you’ll see what looks like a slow down in the coming months as much of the work will be happening on the interior of the concourse levels.
