  1. Yes he certainly is . Trump’s only hope to win is low voter turnout. So of course he is against mail in votes. 2,things that make him clueless 1) in state GOP are actually running campaigns to say to ignore trump because they’ve are afraid the rural elderly who overwhelming vote GOP via mail in now won’t Vote and open the door to local losses in rural counties where they were never possible before 2) more mail in votes tend to favor the GOP- military, elderly, rural
  2. I love the title of this “liberal protests”...... that’s exactly the reality in this country . We have a % if people who want everything and everyone to have their place in society. Let’s call them the Archie Bunkers. It’s why we have protests. We have others who could care less because they “aren’t affected.” Bottom line is there is a % of society of all colors who want what the founders said we should all have “all men are created equal” and the unalienable right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. Personally it is a no brainer to see that not every person in the US is treated equally and they therefore are not given the same amount of liberty. It is true for people who aren’t white, it is true for women, it is true for immigrants, it is true for anyone with a handicap, and it is true for poor people. These shouldn’t be “liberal” ideals to treat everyone fairly. These are American ideals. It’s why most of our ancestors left their countries of origin, namely because they weren’t being treated fairly if given opportunity. Do you realize that the act signed by LBJ with MLK signed in the 1960s actually began with protest that started around WW1? That’s how long and slow change had been in this country. So let’s not talk like this is a new topic. If we really want to be the greatest country on earth maybe we should stop patting ourselves on the back for ignoring our greatest weakness.. If we actually gave women and minorities a true seat at the table our country would have much more power and influence than it does today.
  3. Why is everything a conspiracy ? Oh I forgot because 45% of the people elected the conspiracy king to lead out country. Hu the way why did he disband his election fraud commission that was gonna to find that widespread voter fraud that caused Hilary to win the popular vote ?? Because they found little irregularity and ones they do find actually favored GOP candidates. That’s why. How come you didn’t bring up the Georgia governor elections where non mail in polling was rigged by the then Secretary of State for the candidate for governor to just narrowly win. By the way the guy doing the rigging was also the candidate and is the now the governor and he is still trying to rig that whole state. I have voted mail in in the last 7 elections, so it is hardly a new concept. 34 stayed already allow for it. 15 others already allow for it under unique circumstance of which COVID is one. Funny but the MAGA folks always wuiye the constitution and rule of law unless it doesn’t favor their outcome like here..... By the way, rigging machines is easier than rigging paper ballots because the machine paper trail just comes from the data in the machine. Change the data and if changed the paper trail. HBO had a pretty interesting documentary showing just how easily hacked our systems are. For instance in that Georgia election, one very populated precinct has 75% registered dems be 5% GOP. At the end of the day the law says each machine had to put the computer tally from each machine on its windows as a sort or public display of the honesty of the election. That precinct had 12 machines. 1 machine had registered 85% of the people vote straight GOP on it. In a precinct with 75% registered dems to have one machine have that kind of number shows fraud. The rest of the machines were all in line with the registered Dem vote %. They modeled the odds of that occurring naturally. It was 1 in 1.5million. So the solutions have already been proposed by Dem congressional leaders and have been rejected over and over again. 1. Have an election holiday 2. Everyone who is a citizen is automatically eligible to vote 3. Have every system also have a paper trail that isnt system generated so the tech can’t be rigged. 4. Allow early paper voting. If you miss that window then you have to go to the polling place to vote.
  4. So you mean CFL football???
  5. I don’t agree. He can look great for a half and then be average for another half. He also is not a in defender. I’m fine moving on. He’s had his multitude of chances. We should have skipped on Josh Norman and signed Logan Ryan.
  6. The concept of NFL bubbles makes sense from a isolation aspect, BUT the ability to have equal world class facilities for that many athletes in a small area is not good. That is an Olympic size undertaking and can’t just be thrown together due to the size of teams, the requirements for weights , training, and field requirements and privacy.,(remember every Team in your bubble wants your detailed playbook) It won’t happen unless it is for a limited end of season playoff need only, IMO. I would require the NFL to guard my facilities if Belicheat we’re in my bubble!
  7. Dear Lamar ...good luck with that. I am all for anything that destabilizes the locker room of one of our contenders. Hope he goes ape and visits 30 strip clubs before game 1.
  8. Well at least he can’t blame injury as the reason for not being a starter / nickel this year. Let just cut bait on this dude next year. This team keeps giving him a zillion chances and he’s never on the field. Wasn’t Beane high on availability ?
  9. 77 catches 1190 yards 8 TDS, 135 yards rushing (he now gets some of the jet sweep action) .....
  10. Sorry to hear about Mongo. He was definitely an emotional leader. That being said, I felt he probably was a average performer against the pass rush last year and maybe the poorest of all the starters. He whiffed quite a few times including the playoff game. I think Long or Williams will not be a drop off in play and may actually be an upgrade in pass protection. The main downside is Feliciano was awesome as our backup C and with Mitch’s injury history I think that is the worst part of this news. In a no preseason year not having a backup center getting game reps is a very bad thing.
  11. It had been suggested that 26 million people have walked in protests so far. Based on my personal observations, that’s real. I would suggest that the regular giant crowds of ordinary people walking and protesting in agreement shows that there is belief in the citizenry that there is systemic racism in this country. It is overblown in the media, maybe. However it has more everyday Americans mobilized than anything I have ever seen in my lifetime. A lot of this thread have been about personal views and random websites but to disregard what is happening in huge volumes out there is to ignore society. Whether BLM plastered all over the stadium is an effective way to solve this doesn’t matter. What matters is that people have had enough of our country sweeping this under the rug. They will always be 2 parties and therefore disagreement. For those who say they aren’t watching the NFL because of kneeling, good riddance. You wear their jerseys and your kids run plays in the back yard wanting to be them but suddenly they are bad because some draft dodging rich guy says they are. That’s the truly disgusting part IMO. There is only 1 person forcing this as an issue in this country and the reason isn’t even patriotism. It’s a sad desperate man who hates the NFL because he isn’t part of the owners club and always treats his past competitors like enemies and who happens to love McMahon and the XFL. That’s because my 20 year white son getting pulled over routinely isn’t something I have to worry about. If I were black, I would worry about it every day and I would have to give my kids a whole group of “extreme safety” rules in dealing with the police. I have friends who sadly do this on a regular basis because income and education doesn’t wash away skin color. Their kids have been treated differently already. Obviously you don’t have many friends of color or you would get it very easily.
  12. This may be the ultimate test of team and local culture. Those teams who really want to win and stay healthy will do whatever it takes to do so and will treat Covid just like they treat their diet and working out and learning their playbook. Those teams that blow it off as an inconvenience will more likely suffer and catch it. It’s just too contagious to avoid it if people don’t buy in and purposefully try to follow the guidelines.
  13. Question, if someone tests positive during the year are they able to also opt out after they test positive? In other words “change their mind” due to the positive test result now affecting their health?
  14. How many tweets and retweets will there be of the first smuggled twenty second 17 to 14 passes in camp....can’t wait.
  15. Wow “the city of good neighbors” just doesn’t quite earn its nickname in this thread. There is a politics section so hey mods isn’t there some way next time to find a way to steer this whole thing there ! This isn’t a football discussion. This country is totally divided so can’t we at least acknowledge it and keep the Bills fans away from these topics in the football discussion pages ? I can rant about my political views to my 20K Twitter followers if I want to feel heard about that....I come to TBD to talk football.
  16. Next year I would like to see our MLB, RB, DT, and either OLB/SS/TE also be on that list. That would mean we had a great year.
  17. Agreed this will have some cancelled games no matter what. So it all comes down to which ones. All I know is I want KC. I want them to lose to us...bad.
  18. By the end of August, the best SEC teams will be the ones with any actual players left who actually don’t have Covid, due to those bonehead sunbelt states. I think the NFL has the tech and huge financials needed for them to be able to start stop a few times if needed. IMO college football will have many cancelled games and we will end up with an extended playoff there to make up for it. This might be exciting if this ends up as a top 16 tourney because there is a shell of a season.
  19. Why is Logan Ryan always sitting out there late into the fire agency period and then only getting prove it deals ? The players put him in the top 70 players in the NFL 100, he has playoff experience and seems to make plays. Why wouldn’t a team want to drop 7-9mil on a guaranteed top flight CB? What is his knock?
  20. This is a win for the Jets long term and further pushes the Pats down to the cellar in the next 2 years. This draft capital makes this look like it could be a very tough division in a few years. We better go get some divisions NOW while the getting is easier.
  21. Here is the big miss. Players won’t all be “back” in 2 weeks. We can all deal with 2 week known injury windows because they happen all the time. In baseball there have been multiple situations where starting pitchers can’t even throw 25 pitches after the 2-3 week window without being super winded after getting the virus. Now we move on to Football where you need intense cardio ability and you are lugging around huge frames with those lungs. Some of these players may miss big chunks of the season. So I am glad we have depth this year because we are likely going to need it. Let’s just hope this doesn’t become some cheezy strike type year because a bunch of major superstars go down and now you have 3rd string QBs and CFL kickers playing major roles.
  22. Predicting games in advance this year is a joke. Any QB3 could be playing on any given week...at least our team has depth at many positions for once..
  23. Enough with the XFL. It’s never been a viable league unless the NFL funds it as some sort of developmental league like NFL Europe whet they can test new rules and train refs and put kids that don’t belong in colleges into a league. It has no TV money and that is why it fails.
  24. I didn’t read the comments because these QBs went in the 3 and 4 the rounds so if we really wanted them we would have pulled the trigger by the 2nd.
