  1. Hey I finally found a thread on quiet quitting. Now I understand it.
  2. I appreciate your perspective as a lifer in the area. I am almost the same age but moved in my mid 20s so I just kept seeing what was happening in other cities I lived in and kept seeing unfilled promises being made in a Buffalo for Baseball, the Peace Bridge, the failed aud revitalization, and multiple city projects that never amounted to anything or to much less than promised decades later. I lived in cities that radically invested in waterfront changes. It’s honestly been disheartening to see how slowly both Buffalo and Niagara Falls have taken to change over the last 30 years. The hockey arena is downright basic compared to other cities and there is no plan in place to fix that either. The UB stadium feels like a track stadium and has no game day feel. I agree the Bills and UB should have had a unified stadium but any college campus would want the games on campus, so you would need the games in Amherst. I don’t ever think there was a serious discussion about a Bills stadium in Amherst and there in no real Serious transport to UB Amherst. Many entertainment venues like Kleinhans are falling apart and many major concert tours also that are just choosing not to go play at the arena these days. In general the area facilities aren’t very good including the convention center. If it weren’t for the generosity of the Pegulas and local university and medical investments, who knows what would be going on downtown. I don’t agree that putting a stadium in the City would be great revitalization unless it was a mixed use stadium/convention/ hotel complex that hosted a ton of events kind of like New Orleans does. Frankly Buffalo does not have enough to do to warrant that kind of multi billion dollar structure year round and taxpayers can’t fund it.
  3. I agree. I live in Chicago and dabble in watching games and going to a few but it is hard to invest in the NBA after watching how they screwed us.
  4. Gotta figure the #1 question in all this is Dallas. They want to sign Lamb to a big contract and we want to sign Davis. Lamb earned big $$ and Davis really hasn’t yet. So they really can’t offer anything other than a 1 year deal to OBJ yet we can offer a 2-3year deal which is what he wants. I bet it will be term that makes it happen as a deciding factor if he picks here. It depends on whether Jerry is willing to offer more $ and for more term OR if OBJ is all about the bigger media market and just takes the 1 year anyway due to arrogance.
  5. I rewatched the Lions game and multiple times he was wide open in 3rd downs and they just won’t go to him. He just doesn’t have the confidence.
  6. This is the guy who broke my heart as a little kid by selling off our favorite basketball players so he could kill our attendance to justify moving our team. Not feeling remorse for his death. Sorry not sorry.
  7. The Bills have found the weirdest ways to kill people in every way imaginable via heart attack in my lifetime..
  8. Kirk Cousins is who we thought he was as yelled in my best Dennis Green voice….
  9. What a momentum and game changing weird play. He was down but they can’t see it.
  10. If there was a start to a game you wanted, this was it. Now it’s time to keep Cousins guessing and roll a safety blitz at him. He is really poor on the road when he is rattled.
  11. That Munich stadium was completed this year for 800 million US and it is nicer than what we are building. Is that due to legislation. Nope.

I like the winter games as long as the wind chill is reasonable, but the natural turf just isn’t made for winter games. It gets slick, icy, and uneven. Ice can cause ACL injuries just like turf can and it can also cause bad teams to beat good teams for no reason.

Grass fields may be safer but they are rock hard in the north. Did anyone play football in December or January ? Does anyone go to a game in Chicago or Green Bay and see their dirt fields in winter? They might as well be playing in the parking lot. What you lose in knee injuries you gain in Trauma injuries. It isn’t as simple as growing grass in AZ and Dallas and keeping it nice for game time and sliding it in for the game without very costly management systems. Besides It would freeze upon contact with the cold and be an ice rink if you tried to have a side of the stadium slide in warm grow area. Now maybe our new stadium will produce enough of its own shelter from the cold to make a grass field possible but it won’t be friendly in winter no matter what.
  14. I get it, I am just saying some things on that list are dirt old.
  15. An Extra $300 million I would guess. All kidding aside, Munich is not in a snow belt and I assume there are cost and safety concerns about snow weight if they extend the roof too much without it being closed.
  16. The problem is this is never updated. There are a few here in IL that aren’t even bars anymore.
  17. All of a sudden I remember this is the Hines coming out party game and I am pumped even more. Let’s put Hines and Cook in some 2 back looks and scare their LBs off the field!!
  18. If he were to sign for $10, which is what Phillips, signed in AZ for, I don’t know how you justify not signing him with no stud in the pipeline. Just don’t give him more than 3-4 years.
  19. Love Joe Thomas’ take saying this is what happens when you hire your drinking buddy. This is a scathing hot take.
  20. I learned this the hard way in my early 20’s during a sleet game when I was dressed warm but got soaked during a sleet storm. We went to the concession stand and we’re actually using hot chocolate to pour on ourselves at times to warm up.
  21. They should have been given suicidal wings with tainted blue cheese “on the house”
  22. Does Case start the game and then they use Allen like a planned reliever if they feel the game isn’t going as planned? Could that be another approach today?
