  1. So the latest the NFL network and ESPN are suggesting being tossed around is that should the Bills and KC win is they will decide by winning % and let the Chiefs pick between the bye or home field throughout the playoffs but not both. So KC would most likely pick the bye and we would get 3 home games. the other Option is KC gets the Bye and the AFCC game is played at a neutral site like Indy if Buffalo or the Bengals are in it.
  2. McDaniel is overrated and it only took the 2nd round of division games for everyone to figure him out.
  3. Just like any medical diagnosis, you stabilize and solidify the patients health first and foremost. You then in the future take all the analysis and then you systemically rule out what did/didn’t occur to come up with what created the outcomes. You don’t identify the root cause first. There are many types of underlying heart conditions that could have contributed and they will rule them out by process of elimination. Unfortunately the Twitter experts have already decided they know it’s either one root cause or vaccine related where it’s quite possible is neither. No matter, god bless Damar and get well soon!!!!!
  4. ARE THE BILLS INTRODUCING THE FIRST RESPONDERS instead of the offense or defense Sunday? (CAPS intended)
  5. They won’t change anything because basically the same thing could have happened to McKenzie if Josh Allen hits him with a hard pass in the Sternum at the exact right angle at the 30 millisecond wrong time. It’s just a one in a million thing. It doesn’t matter what padding he has.
  6. Is this still a topic now that it’s possible that 3 teams may all finish under 500? I heard it goes to Pats, Jets, then Dolphins in last from the AFC East Roundtable on YouTube and if the Steelers lose, the Pats still make the playoffs even at 8-9.
  7. By the way, I live in Chicago and have lived in East Coast cities. Dear Buffalonians, I hate to break it to you but you are considered the Midwest. You can call it something else, but you aren’t near either coast and there is no such thing as Great Lakers. You are the Midwest, so stop criticizing it. The Midwest is where the most genuine people live. If you think people in Iowa are cruel, you need to get your head checked and visit any East Coast city for 5 minutes. I lived in Des Moines and the first week i lived there, pre cell era, my wife got lost and some little old lady saw her confused in a parking lot and had her follow her 10 miles across the city to where she was going so she wouldn’t get lost. That doesn’t happen anywhere but the Midwest. By the way, the actions of the Iowa fans may be due to the behaviors or fan bases from Penn State. My wife used to play in the Illinois band and said both Penn State and Ohio State fans would literally throw trash at them in the stands while all other Big Ten venues were great. Of course that was years ago so maybe things have changed.
  8. I would let my kids play unless they were undersized. I played 3 different sports and sustained lasting effects from all of them. You are going to get neck, head, groin, ankle, back, and leg injuries almost as much in hockey as football mainly because you play so many more games. You will get just as many knee or back injuries in soccer when two people kick at the same time since you will get countless hyper extensions and tears. I have had neck, leg tears, broken bones, and back injuries in all 3 of those sports. It’s in the college years that those collisions get much more dangerous in my opinion. It also depends on what position your kid plays at high school ages. I have seen some 165LB kids trying to throw their bodies around as a safety and that will get them hurt in high school. In younger pop Warner years the leagues are weight controlled so everyone is similar sized, which helps. Once you get to JV and varsity you see there are kids who have matured faster crushing kids that are smaller. That’s when you see more injuries start due to random size mismatch, often on chop or blind block hits.
  9. Should the large not replay the Bills/Bengals game and they award KC seed # based on winning %, should the Bills and Chiefs get to AFC championship the league should have it at a neutral site. The Chiefs are all ready getting the extra bye week for free, let them give up the home crowd advantage.
  10. There is a rumor being floated that the league is recommending playing the NFC playoffs on schedule and playing the Bills/Bengals game only in the AFC if it is meaningful to seeding in the AFC after the outcome of this weeks games. This would be logical although it would give almost all the other AFC teams and the NFC champion a huge advantage in the long run health wise. So this type of dumb approach sound exactly like something the NFL would do anyways because it meets their primary desire of having games and TV revenue every week even though it creates a lot of disadvantage and actually create disadvantages for Bengals and Bills.
  11. A HUGE thank you to all that have contributed their expertise here. beck water, red tail Hawk, Herc11, garypnc, MR WEO, Turftoe and many others I have missed. Many of us have been through or had relatives experience induced comas but it has been through such a wide range of reasons that it is difficult to comprehend what is happening. I appreciate you helping us as we know this will not be a short process and there will not be quick public statements and Damar won’t suddenly be awake and talking. It nice to know he is in a top notch center and getting great care.
  12. I think it may not be decided until the day before and it will depend on what the team knows about Damar. I assume Sean will let the players decide. I think the league has already probably given them a Saturday time to decide so they can announce it on the night game.
  13. Knowing Damar is still purposefully sedated as they control his swelling on his chest and lungs, I have questions for those of you who are doctors and specifically neurologists. Isn’ t it usual that they wait around 2-3 days and then do something like a CT scan to confirm effective brain activity before risking removing him from that sedation and all o2 to make sure he will handle it effectively ? Then probably an MRI looking for further organ impacts at a later time? I am asking this based on experiences I have had with family and friends in traumatic situations and assume any cessation of oxygen must require some evaluation of these factors. Interested in your feedback.
  14. This was a great suggestion but the NFL will never take revenue off the table. I heard someone today say let the top teams play at a neutral site. That’s a new one.
  15. So is this what happened , I assume someone with more medical skills already mentioned this in the 99 pages… it says the athlete often stumbles a few steps before collapsing with no heart beat. https://ksi.uconn.edu/emergency-conditions/cardiac-conditions/commotio-cordis/ Sent from Mark's IPhone
  16. Who booked flights when the games and team haven’t been determined yet?
  17. If the game were to be played Wed they wouldn’t have sent the Bills home. They would be flying back today.
  18. It’s funny but how many times have the Bills had a TD scored on them in the first series in the last 3 years. It seems like a ton. I almost always say “well it will get better that’s just the Bills”, no matter who the opponent is. I was not writing this game off by any means.
  19. I thought about this and that they move the pro bowl to the day before the Super Bowl.
  20. I just don’t see how they play the Bengals game with Hamlin’s true status not being known for days or maybe a full week or more. A. I prefer they give both KC and the Bills a Bye and kill the #7 seed in the AFC. I know the NFL will never do this because it’s 1 less playoff game. B. If the Bills and Chiefs both win next weekend, we are 13-3, Chiefs 14-3, Bengals 12-4. they could rank Bills and KC 1 and 2 based on conference %. Though this really screws the Bengals because they didn’t get their shot at us. (Chiefs would 9-3, Bills better at 9-2, FYI Bengals are 8-3) C. They can select by plain win % then KC gets the 1 seed (assuming they win Saturday) and we get the 2 seed. Now we get stuck with an extra game and no bye through no fault of our own, which makes me push back to my option A because why should we be punished for an act of god? Other ideas?
  21. It totally does matter because 1 eats game and 1 hard game both at home is way easier than 1 easier game and 2 hard road games. I think there will some resolution in place of the Cinci game as well. I don’t think there will be a replay of the game. May even be a “gulp” coin toss for home field.
