  1. Yeah, he can be solid, but his best seasons aren't close to comparable with actual top tier QB's. People like to say Kirk Cousins is just "above average" or pretty good, yet they give Jimmy G the benefit of the doubt more often than not because players like being around him. Sometimes he'll even gets that "he just wins" label, even though it's primarily the defense & run game like you said. Couple of Jimmy G's good seasons: 2019 - 3,978 yards / 27 TD's - 13 INT's / 69.1% / 102.0 passer rating (16 games) 2021 - 3,810 yards / 20 TD's - 12 INT's / 68.3% / 98.7 passer rating (15 games) W/L record: 22-9 Couple of Kirk Cousins good seasons: 2020 - 4,265 yards / 35 TD's - 13 INT's / 67.6% / 105.0 passer rating (16 games) 2021 - 4,221 yards / 33 TD's - 7 INT's / 66.3% / 103.1 passer rating (16 games) W/L record: 15-16 I think they're both just solid, but Cousins is has a higher ceiling & slings it deep better. 49ers are just a more complete team all around.
  2. Because it's unnatural for a QB to start for so long or at such an old age. He was drafted just 2 years after Peyton Manning, yet he's played 7 more seasons. Drafted 1 year BEFORE Drew Brees, yet Brees retired after the 2020 season at age 42, yet Brady's still going... Just further proof he signed his soul away to Satan 🤣
  3. "You wouldn't touch me with a 10 foot pole huh?!"
  4. I miss old Madden when you could pull up versions of old teams, & not just specific players in that micro-transaction, gambling mode. '90 Bills, '76 Steelers, '81 Niners, etc. or those All-AFC/All-NFC teams. Then again, I miss the old school design a team/stadium/player maker they used to have during the GC/PS2/XB era... Bring it all back EA!
  5. 1. Doug Flutie (most success despite lack of FO support) 2. Drew Bledsoe (most accomplished, fun offenses) 3. Tyrod Taylor (stability, broke the drought) 4. Ryan Fitzpatrick (beat the Pats at home, fun all around dude) 5. Kevin Kolb (concussed in a preseason game, never came back, year later retired....wtf)
  6. I'll take the red helmets all day, every day. With the red jerseys? HELLLLLL no! Honestly don't like the all red jerseys + pants anyway. I could tolerate just red jerseys with white pants (or vice versa), but the color rush stuff just looks off to me.
  7. Not a great look, but it comes with having a QB like Josh & WR's who fortunately have stayed healthy (for the most part). I have not looked at stats at all to back any of this up, but you often saw Diggs or Beasley run amazing routes, then go down quickly to avoid contact if pressure was nearby. Davis & others getting hit on those sideline routes or right in the end zone doesn't help those numbers either. And when Josh throws deep, it's often on the run & rolling out, so the ball tends to JUST get there as to where the target can just make the grab. Ball placement is definitely a factor, but Allen is still improving there too, so I expect things will get better. For now, I'm just glad Diggs has managed to stay healthy, so I'll take him avoiding contact over trying to break tackles after every catch.
  8. Ticket sales & attendance data can be deceiving though. I think it was 2017, but I remember watching on TV when we were playing the Dolphins fighting for a playoff spot for the first time in nearly 2 decades, yet the stadium looked 1/4 empty... A divisional rival was in town, one of the last few games of the season, chance to break the drought, yet it wasn't packed? I remember looking up attendance & seeing it said 100%, and replays showed mostly the filled out lower bowl or big plays where everyone was standing. But during the game when people were sitting, you could tell it was anything but sold out.
  9. Haven't been following it recently, but is this even a possibility? I would imagine it would have to be built with possible dome expansion/renovations in mind from the onset, but I have no idea. It'd be nice knowing that in future, it could indeed be possible to cover it if need be.
  10. Ok, so since I criticized other takes, here's my (admittedly bad) take: The entire 85' Bears, or more specifically, the Defense... I'm not saying they weren't great, but they're so fondly remembered because 1) Chicago market, 2) personalities, 3) peak 80's music video & 4) they won the SB. Based on actual statistics, there are several defenses ahead of them like the '76 Steelers, 2000 Ravens, or even the '91 Eagles. There's even articles breaking down the offenses each defense faced & their potency, which again place others ahead of them. But if you were to stumble upon any article just ranking "Best Defenses in NFL History," I guarantee the '85 Bears will be ranked #1 almost every time. Again, they were all-time great, but they've been elevated to near myth & legend status. Even the best of the best can be elevated to a point that reaches "overrated."
  11. I completely disagree on this one. I don't think it's possible, regardless of situation, to overrate ANY QB that went on to win 7 x Super Bowls & play in 10... all during the Free Agency Era where it kept being said dynasties like that would never happen again. Brady as an individual has more rings than any franchise in their entire history. The NFL is hard as hell to be successful in, a LOT has to go right, & you have to be damn good to even win 1 x Super Bowl. Combine that with the fact he's now about to be 45 & still putting up 5,000+ yard seasons? There have been old QB's that won SB's, there have been old QB's that have had good seasons, but to be THAT old & have CONSISTENT success on such a high level? Nobody else compares. The only thing I hate is that the Bills didn't get to be the ones to knock him off his perch. Maybe this year can still be that year. I hate Brady, but I want revenge, not him just leaving.
  12. His overall numbers might be "overrated" by some, but he was still 100% worthy of being a first ballot HOFer. He definitely was a great back in his prime, even if not the best. Barry Sanders will always be the best RB I've ever seen, & he would've cruised past all those rushing records had he stuck around.
  13. I'll take that bet. Burrow & Chase are just going to get better, that O-line HAS to improve (they'd hope), & the Browns shot themselves in the foot...so their only competition is the Ravens.
  14. For positions like QB or RB yeah, but for others like WR/CB/DE/etc. teams have multiple of each on the field simultaneously, so with 32 teams that avg. 2-3 CBs on the field, you'd be top 10%-15% of your position.
  15. But his shoulder! In all seriousness... I hate you for reminding me.
  16. I don't think it has anything to do with "punching up," or "punching down," and everything to do with it just being smack talk between your closest division rival. You think Ravens fans stop talking crap about the Steelers when they're atop the division? You think the Bengals fans stopped talking crap about the Browns even though they made the Super Bowl? Hell, do you think ANY of the NFC North fans stop talking crap about the Browns EVER? Acting like the Pats have been bottom feeders for years, when like he said, "they were out of the playoffs only ONCE after Brady," is pretty disingenuous. Not only that, the Pats were competing for AFC East champ until final weeks of the year, while also being atop the entire AFC at one point late in the year. Buffalo finished with 1 more win... Hardly "punching down." Factor in nearly 20 years of getting beat down by the Pats? Yeah, the ire is pretty well earned regardless of either team's record. He must have forgotten the early years of Brady when Pats fans were "punching down" on the Bills, which then just grew louder when Bledsoe (& later Milloy) joined the team. That's just sports. Calling them "irrelevant" doesn't make it reality, regardless of what the fans do. Max prime time games, NFL opener/Thanksgiving/#1 SB odds/etc. prove nationally, they're far from "irrelevant."
  17. Rusty Jones, now that's a cool choice! Totally forgot about him. Remember Marv talking highly of him, but don't remember much else honestly. And even though some of these guys made the playoffs at some point, I'd include anyone who was stuck on those Bills teams at any point during the drought. Very few guys started & finished their careers in Buffalo during that point, Kyle Williams & Aaron Schobel being the most noteworthy & relevant (I think).
  18. Yeah, it's pretty rough. Though I'd still take Drew Bledsoe over Fitz, but that's based purely on how entertaining I found that offense at times. If Kyle Orton wasn't so hell bent on getting out of football as soon as he could, he could've been a competitor as well 🤣
  19. So I saw this question on Twitter & thought I'd ask it here just for fun. What 3 players from 2000-2017 era of no playoffs would you guys choose to replace a current roster member with? Also, which specific known starters would you replace with them? ********** 1. Takeo Spikes, LB - He normally played ILB, but I'd replace Milano as I'd prefer to see him & Edmunds on the field together. But if it came down to it, I'd take him over Edmunds too. 2. Ruben Brown, LG - He sometimes was called "overrated" by fans, but the guy made 8x Pro Bowls & 4x 2nd team All Pro on the Bills. He made the playoffs, but he played for us until signing with the Bears in 2004. I'd replace Ryan Bates & hope Saffold can play RG 😁 3. Marshawn Lynch, RB - There's a lot of good picks for RB, but I think having a really powerful, hard to tackle back that can get those tough yards would be best. I know the conventional wisdom would suggest someone good at catching the ball & be a dual receiving threat, but I think Lynch would kill it in this setup. The field is so spread out, he'd have a field day, and Josh would be the additional running threat if plays break down. Plus, there are just those short yardage situations you'd prefer to have Lynch over a QB sneak or a more shifty guy like Shady. ********** Anyway, I really wanted to put Kyle Williams on the list, or an underrated guy like Terrance McGee who was a strong CB & ST guy (CB in particular has some nice candidates), but these are the 3 I'd love to take most.
  20. Of course not... He will be loved by many fans for his enthusiasm & support for the city, but the teams he lead did nothing.... He likely holds individual franchise records of some sort (can't be bothered to look), but nothing significant & no playoff births. He does hold a great moment in my heart, & defeating the Patriots while Brady was still there will always be a great memory to me
  21. Good question, though I'm sure plenty of schools don't have them. Ours does, but I see people think they're being polite holding the door open for others all the time, especially end of day when people are coming to pick up their kids.
  22. I'm in shock... Just got an email from work with the subject line "about the school shooting," and about had a heart attack. I work at a a Texas Elementary School, so it quickly hit me how close to home this is. Especially after what happened in Buffalo, it's like all aspects of life are being touched by gun violence, & it's truly devastating. Nowhere is safe anymore, I just wish we could put tribalism aside & come together to find a solution.
  23. He's going to be the first ever player to hold out for a roof on a new stadium. What a community guy!
  24. I know it's unimportant, but that thread title... "fairly significantly," maybe probably annoys me 😅
