  1. Nuh uh! We weren't mediocre, it was the media that just wasn't giving us the respect we rightfully deserve but didn't earn! Trust me, THIS year is gonna be our year. Just you wait until Brian Brohm gets on the field, he'll show ESPN! 😤
  2. Yeeeaahh... that alone is enough to concern me going into week 1. The team didn't do great opening against an underwhelming Steelers team last year, & TJ Watt was a big reason why. At least he isn't paired with Von Miller though 😉
  3. None of which played DT, a position which historically doesn't get the big numbers DE's & OLB who primarily focus on pass rush get.
  4. Well... he definitely has a "mean streak" in him. Not sure if that's actually more harmful than helpful at this point though...
  5. It's an Xbox emulator on your PC, or just Xbox for Windows that allows you to access all Xbox Game Pass games (including EA games like Madden)?
  6. I have a feeling the punishment is actually for the tanking, but they're claiming it's for the Tom Brady thing to save face. Talking to another player under contract is far more acceptable publicly than admitting the highest authority of a team actively offered bonuses to throw games. Of course the NFL is not going to acknowledge an owner was trying to pay his coach to intentionally lose. That scandal would be exponentially more catastrophic to the credibility of the game than "we talked to a player too early" (which likely happens all the time through unofficial channels).
  7. 1) Bills went 1-3 against the AFC South last year, so even if the AFC North is tougher, going 1-3 again wouldn't lower their W/L record from last year. 2) Last season's NFC South was better overall than the NFC North (who we play this year). NFC South was 34-34, while NFC North was 30-37-1. 3) We still play the Chiefs (who we beat last year). 4) We also play the Titans again, so even if we lose, it doesn't signify a worse record than last season. 5) The only major standout is playing LA Rams instead of Washington. *Last season the Bills finished 11-6, & I don't see the record suddenly taking a nosedive just based on stronger strength of schedule. When you actually breakdown the failures from last year, you can easily see why it doesn't change much. The 2021 Bills lost to the Jaguars. We lost to an inferior Pittsburgh team at home. We got blown out by the Colts at home. The 2-4 record against playoff teams were all 1 score games: *Pittsburg - lost by 7 *Titans - lost by 3 (went for it on 4th down hoping to win, rather than kick FG to play for OT) *Patriots - lost by 4 (it was our own homefield conditions working against us, sh*t happens) *Bucs - lost by 6 in OT We also showed TWICE we could hang with/beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead. Showed that when weather isn't a factor, we can dominate the Patriots. We nearly beat the #1 seed on the road while they still had Henry in good health. Played Tom Brady into OT. Point is that even though they fell short against some good teams, none were out of reach. Several we should've won but came up short. ***FINAL POINT: The Rams were 2-5 against playoff teams... THEY WON THE SUPER BOWL!!!*** /This ends today's Ted Talk
  8. Hey, we're not dead last anymore!!! Movin' on up! 😂
  9. How can the judge say - "...this is the most significant punishment ever imposed on an NFL player for allegations of non-violent sexual conduct, Mr. Watson’s pattern of conduct is MORE EGREGIOUS THAN ANY BEFORE reviewed by the NFL.”' Then she goes on to recommend only a 6 game suspension? If this is more egregious than ANY before, how did someone get suspended an entire season for gambling or smoking weed? "Special thanks to Mr. Watson for only sexually assaulting these women non-violently, & therefore I recommend only 6 games for showing such restraint!" 🤔
  10. 100% agree. Just look at how much Watt almost singlehandedly flipped games for the Steelers last year. Guy was a one man wrecking crew. Shutdown corners help the entire defense as well. Coverage sacks aren't noticed often, but that extra time it takes for the QB to scout the field hoping to find someone ends up giving the pass rush extra seconds to get to their man.
  11. Nope. It's just after the Davonte Adams & Tyreek Hill trades, the market shot up to reflect now that. Used to seem like QB's, DE's & CB's were the most sought after components. Now WR is getting its turn. LT & O-line play is vital as well, but individuals don't receive the attention or highlights that "skill" position players do.
  12. It's a good time to be a WR in the NFL! Everybody's getting paid!
  13. How does this work though? I've tried VPN's to do this, & most streaming services give you an alert saying "looks like you're using a VPN, disable to access blah blah blah." I recently tried it again to watch local/IN-MARKET games on YouTube TV (Dallas Mavericks) because it was blacked out, so I set my city to NY/LA/Chicago hoping it'd see me as an out of market viewer. Nope, instead got an alert telling me to turn off my VPN to access YouTube TV... Are there specific VPN services that skirt around this?
  14. I'd only be down for it if Diggs were down for it. I know most people really only factor in the coaching staff & possibly QB's input (if they're a star player), but if this could disrupt the chemistry & confidence of Diggs with Allen & the team, I'd stay far away from it. But if Diggs has a good relationship with OBJ already, then go for it.
  15. So stumbled across this strange clip which has multiple weird takes. One is Keyshawn Johnson saying "I don't believe Josh Allen is the reason that the Buffalo Bills were in the position they were in... I believe it was coaching. I believe it was the acquisition of Diggs through the GM in Brandon Beane..." going on to say he "needs to see more," before he buys into Allen... Diggs is great. Coaching is great. But how many times are we told "QB is the most important position in all of sports?" Why did Beasley, Brown, and DIGGS all have career years when coming to play with Allen? Even if you only count the last 3 years, why do you "need to see more?" After only 2 years of Mahomes playing, people were sold on him being #1 player in the league, but we need more time to see what kind of player Allen is? He walked off the field having put his team in position to be in back to back AFC championship games, after a flawless playoff run. Aside from a Super Bowl, what more do you need to see? And if it's only Super Bowl or bust, you're basically disqualifying every young QB in the league. Part 2 (which comes first in the video): The other take is a 40 year Bills fan calling in just to say Josh Allen doesn't have the "mind" Jim Kelly did, that if JA had JK's mind or JK had JA's athleticism, they'd be unbeatable. Then he wraps it up saying Allen is good, but he's not to Jim's level yet. My thoughts were "Ok, but why does that even matter?" Jim Kelly isn't playing anymore... He's not competing with Allen. He didn't win a Super Bowl. So even if he's CURRENTLY the best QB in franchise history, his time to add to his legacy is over. Josh has only played 4 years, still has MANY years ahead of him to do things Kelly never could. Why are we comparing his "mind" to Kelly's in 2022? What part of his mind is inferior? I'd say his work ethic may even be superior, so what is it that inspires a fan to call a show just to say Allen isn't as good as a QB from decades ago? Anyway, just my random rant on this clip that popped up today. Weird stuff from both the fan & Keyshawn imo...
  16. Just watched an interview today where Von Miller was talking about how he was very close to NOT signing with the Bills... going so far as to say he hid in the bathroom once he arrived & was brought in to sign his contract 😅 Said he was in there for over an hour, thinking of ways to back out, while coaches would be sent in one at a time to try & talk him out of there... everyone from Leslie Frazier to eventually Sean McDermott (after it had been an hour). His agent, his brother on the phone, all these people he kept telling them "I think I want to stay in LA" & was trying to find a way to apologize to the Bills, even telling them he'd reimburse them for the plane flight. EVENTUALLY he was slowly talked back into things, even citing the practice facilities & field being what helped win him over. A lot of people were unhappy with how he talked about the city (and the food) though. Made Buffalo sound like the dumps, or at the very least, like it was known as such among players & people who hadn't spent significant time there.
  17. "The Bills were missing four of their projected five starters on the offensive line" This is a bummer. Really was hoping it wouldn't be musical chairs this season for once. I know it's still early, but was very hopeful there'd be an established unit that had time to gel in the off season, all set & ready to go for week 1.
  18. Ah gotcha. Overrated in the sense that he's mentioned with the absolute best at the position, makes sense. I agree there. I'd also put Sanders, Payton, Jim Brown, Eric Dickerson, LT, Mashall Faulk & OJ above him when it comes to actual skill. Emmitt is an all time great, just not worthy of being mentioned in the same tier as the top 3-5 guys. Fair enough! 👍
  19. You're asking the same group of people who downplayed Brady for nearly 20 years (and still try to excuse away his SB wins) if they're now worried about Mac Jones?😂 Not trying to be mean, but the majority of us Bills fans aren't going to acknowledge another AFC East QB while the Bills are atop the division. Just ain't happening. For reference, us fans (I include myself in this) were often way too optimistic when we sucked... Now that we're good, fans are overly cocky instead. And even if I don't want to be that way, we have a QB that can give us a chance to beat ANYBODY any given Sunday, so it's hard not to be.
  20. Looking at stuff like this now makes me chuckle a bit. For year, even during the drought, fans would get pissed the media wasn't "giving us respect," even though the Bills hadn't done anything to earn it. The past couple seasons changed that, and now the Bills get a TON of love, even without making a SB. Funny how winning & having a great QB changes the narrative on the national stage huh? 😉
  21. I know this is an old thread, but I disagree that it's about scheme, play calling, coaching, etc. Talent & talent evaluation has been more of an issue. Snagging good DBs & developing them has been a strength, but other positions have been underwhelming.
  22. Fun fact - This was not photoshopped. Allen pulled off this maneuver during the 2020 October 19th MNF game against the New Kansasota Vikiots. That same game he also set the NFL record for most points from a single FG, resulting in a 4 point play. To this day, nobody knows how he did it, especially as a QB. Scholars have tirelessly studied & attempted to reproduce it, but to no avail.
  23. Thought this was an amusing video, so figured I'd share just for fun. Didn't realize Sam Adams weighing in at 350 lbs was the heaviest pick-6/TD ever though, nor did I realize he also did it with the Seahawks (but his Bills return was 12 yards further, so it's better)! 🤣
  24. "He has been the QB for a top defense for multiple years. That's a fact." Yes, BUT... As Phil Simms recently said, they weren't REALLY a great defense in the way that they were dominant, got after QBs or struck fear into opposing offenses, especially after Tre went down... They feasted on some VERY bad offenses, which boosted their overall averages. The best offenses we played - Bucs (2nd ranked offense) - 33 points (Loss) Chiefs (3rd ranked) - 21 points (Win) & playoffs 42 points (Loss) Patriots (15th ranked offense) - 14 (Doesn't count...) & 21 (Win) & playoffs 17 points (Super-Win) Colts (16th ranked offense) - 45 points (Loss) Titans (17th ranked offense) - 34 points (Loss) Every other team we played was bottom of the barrel offensively, including 7 of the 8 WORST offenses in the league (everyone but the Giants) - Commanders (21st ranked) Steelers (23rd ranked) Dolphins (25th ranked) Jets (26th ranked) Jaguars (27th ranked) Saints (28th ranked) Falcons (29th ranked) Panthers (30th ranked) Texans (32nd ranked) So yeah, he's got the leadership & playbook thing down, but it's not exactly wrong for fans to want more out of him on the field. Improved MLB play can really help anchor the defense & push them into dominant territory (along with a better pass rush). The 2014 Bills defense was "only" ranked 4th overall, but they were far more dominant & feared compared to our #1 ranked defense from last season.
  25. Tbf, he's only played 4 years in the league, is 26 years old & made 3 x Pro Bowls already. David Bakhtiari is 31 & makes $23 million, signing a 4 year contract extension in 2020. Trent Williams is 34 & also makes $23 million a year, signing a 6 year contract extension in 2021. So if Brown comes to market, he's going to get $25+ million anyway due to contract inflation + his young age alone.
