Maybe offer TT a new deal.... at our price
Mat68 replied to Franchiseneedsme's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I pick up his option and would only look to move him if an upgrade came along. 16 mil a year for qb in 3 years won more than he lost and threw 3 to 1 TD to ints. He will be very appealing to a team that could not land a qb or had a qb get hurt. -
Average arm, small, not overly athletic, an offense that doesnt translate to the NFL. Those are all reason why if you get past the hype he is probably 2nd or 3rd rd caliber. Mayfeild has 0 chance going top 5, 10 or 15. I think someone will take a chance with him like Tebow and Manziel were before him. If you want an improvement over Taylor but want a guy his height and will have similar restrictions with feild vision minus his A+ athletism you are in for a dissapointment.

Sam Darnold Declares for the 2018 NFL Draft
Mat68 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
Smart for both Qbs. Rosen would continue to get beat up and he doesnt fit Chip Kellys system. Darnold has all the tools and would be better equipped to just learn and grow in a pro offense. With rollouts and traditional play action. I think Buffalo goes hard for a shot at either. -
IMO going back to school puts more pressure on his play than going #1 would. Only reason he goes back to school is if his estimated draft status was 2 rd. I think alot of teams would pick him in the first rd and probably top 15. History has never favored a Qb going back to school especially USC Qbs. Would you rather be Marck Sanchez or Leinhart and Barkley? He will need to play near perfect be in contention for the Heisman and National Championship to even meet expectations.

Bills/Jags . Do you agree with this assessment?
Mat68 replied to billsbackto81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Mccoy plays I like the chances alot more which is true. Jacksonville is a streaky team and I think play to the level of there competition. I think they expect to win and Buffalo will give them all they can handle even if Mccoy is out. The game comes down to Blake Bortles he is either gonna make big throws or he will throw Ints. -
If Shady is Out, is it a Good Thing?
Mat68 replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is the bet player on the roster. Not having him would be a big blow. It seemed like he rolled is ankle. Its not broke depends on the level of swelling and degree of sprain. If he is anywhere above 75% he is playing and will perform ok. The offense needs a special set of plays for when tolbert is in the game. You cannot call the same plays you would with shady. Give him a lead blocker and maybe go 2 TE and run power runs. Russel Wilson abused the the Jags defense, Tayor will need to have a big game. He is capable of doing so and teams that we do not regularly face him have trouble containing him. If the Jaguars run heavily man coverage with their corners Taylor could have a big game on the ground and in the air. -
Jurrell Casey says Blake Bortles is going to choke
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need Taylor to play the best football of his career. He plays well Buffalo wins. As much as its stop tbe run. Its Bortles vs Taylor. -
By making the playoffs i keep Taylor and trade up for Allen. Dont have to rush him on the feild and can take time to develop him. If he is the next it QB Taylors stock will never be higher after a season he took us to the playoffs. Yes. Winning a road playoff game makes him the guy.

You keep him until there is a better option. Keep building no need for 2 steps forward 3 back.

Why I wouldn't want Cousins in Buffalo
Mat68 replied to essential's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you burn a couple of picks for on of top Qb prospects and and use some money to fill the holes on the roster? Do you dump most of your cap space into cousins and fill the holes on the roster with draft picks? That is the question. Seems to me Cousins fits Dennisons system and I would not be surprised if that is the first move Buffalo tries to make. Trade Taylor for a team that misses out on a Qb in Fa. Cleveland, Denver, possibly Jacksonville all may be interested in Taylor for the right price. -
Allen. he is vastly more talented. Better arm more athletic. His ability and potenial is going to get Allen into the top 10 maybe top 5 imo. He has as good an arm as Farve and Rodgers.

What QB do you want to draft.
Mat68 replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They got the picks go get your QB. -
I dont think they want to back into the playoffs. After having their worst defensive showing i doubt they want to lose to Tennesse only face them the following week
-
Doent mean that is what they will do. I think its a legitimate and the Colts have a poor roster with limited cap space. Ne coach new Qb? crazier things have happend. Brees with San Diego.

#1 Sam Darnold #2 josh Allen Both bigger guys with live arms. Darnold is more polished but Allen imo has more upside. -
Allen lead Wyoming to back to back Bowl games for the first time since 1987-1988. The year before Allen started they were 2-10. Its not as easy looking at his numbers or that they went to some B.S pre Christmas bowl and say well what did he do? Sure he didn't win a national title but he won more games there in 2 years than they did in 30 years before him.
-
He doesn't throw bubble screens from the spread for half his throws like the majority of college qbs do now. He makes throws that no other qb in the draft can.
-
Worst thing you can do imo is play a Qb before he is ready. Some Qbs take a year or some walk into the building ready. Idk what the rookie will be so I would hedge my bets and have an adequate qb in place to mitigate any pressure to force them on the filed before being ready. Unless I find an improvement over Taylor i keep him as Qb. He is about average but still would keep the team competitive and give the Bills the ability to bring in free agent this off season. No reason to cut off your despite your face. If you miss out on the Qb you want you are stuck with your pants down. Their are alot of teams that need Qbs and Buffalo is 20 spots away so I would play it safe and have an adequate starter before draft time.

Browns could pass on Rosen given his desire to go to NYG
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best hope is Cleveland gets cute again and fall in love with Baker Mayfield. They have 2 top 4 picks so they dont have to worry about falling out of the top 5. Pick up additional 2 First rounders and a mid rounder may makes sense to them Buffalo can pick whichever QB they want. -

If I am Cleveland I would say something along the lines I wont bring in somebody that doesnt want to be here. Get Both Darnold and Rosen to come out than draft whichever one I like more. I dont have to interview or have a personal workout, i would draft the best player and if you dont want to play QB for the Browns you dont have to play football.
