He's back. WR Jake Kumerow signing to practice squad.
1ManRaid replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Imagine a lineup of Josh Allen with... WR- Stills, Kumerow, Duke, Gentry RB- Williams, Wade TE- Becker? May as well also throw in Sweeney even though not technically PS Would probably still be at least as competitive as some teams in the league, especially the Jets. -
The Bills Collection of Offensive Weapons No One Else Wanted
1ManRaid replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty sure you can still use voice commands to do punctuation and whatnot. I occasionally hear my disabled friend say "period" at his phone and I don't think he means it like "end of story" heh. -
This is the biggest tragedy of the Browns failing to topple the Chiefs. If they thought we were loud for the Ravens, imagine Bills Mafia cranking it to 12 for a crack at the Super Bowl. But yeah, as someone put in another thread, there are logical reasons how 6700 can sound like 67000. - More rabid playoff atmosphere meaning 100% of attendees making noise as opposed to the majority sitting on their hands for regular season games tired and drunk. - Plenty of empty hard benches and seats to bang with hands and rigid signs, greatly multiplying noise without immediate buzz kill neighbors to annoy. - Lack of soft fleshy bodies covered in layers of soft clothing to muffle sound, more hard surface to bounce sound around. - Likely lax, hands-off security allowing people to get as wild and crazy as they like.

So the Lamar excuses start????
1ManRaid replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just seeing the usual Twitter idiots claiming we only won because Jackson got injured, as if he was suddenly going to become a good QB and pass his way out of a 2+ score 4th quarter deficit. Some even saying we injured him on purpose. -
How 6700 Sounded like 50000: The Science
1ManRaid replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bothered me (perhaps a bit too much) when I'd be at games and 2/3 of my section would be sitting on their hands not making a sound while we're on defense on third down. I guess it depends on the section but I would give my left nut to be at a home playoff game where EVERYONE is going nuts. -

Justin Zimmer on Taron Johnson's Pick-6
1ManRaid replied to JESSEFEFFER's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exhibit A: Josh pulling a fumbled snap from the pile and fighting for a first down vs Cam Newton balking on jumping on a loose ball in clear space leading to a turnover. Jackson should have at least tried to shove the blocker towards Taron. Could have gotten lucky and tripped him up or forced him out of bounds or something. You don't give up on a play like that, especially in the playoffs. He wasn't even in a position to get lit up or blindsided for trying to make the play. -
I knew someone would try to bring that up. On those extremely rare plays, the runner didn't have clear momentum carrying them out bounds or is even that close to the sideline, and the defender is either being lazy and taking the play for granted, or afraid to get a penalty hitting the quarterback. I'm talking about the plays where the runner would need titanium ankles and the ability to break the laws of physics to get their toe down and change direction literally on a dime.

I am 100% fine with it. My biggest beef with the defensive side of the game is all the absolutely unnecessary hits. Defenders seem just unable to resist lowering their shoulder and blasting a guy who is already going to (or already on) the ground when literally just a graze of your pinky finger would count them down by contact. Or the runner is already going out of bounds and the defender lays a hit on them an inch from the sideline just because they can. Or the runner is crossing the goal line and gets blasted two or three yards deep into the end zone where it is already too late to cause a fumble. The defender on the Allen flop sold NOT making unnecessary contact every bit as much as Allen sold being hit. The instant contact was made the defender threw his own hands up in the classic "I didn't do anything I'm innocent" pose that ironically makes you look even more guilty. You see it all the time on block in the back penalties on returns. If you were a security guard posted outside of a store, and someone walks out and randomly declares to you that they are no thief, they didn't steal anything, they're completely innocent they tells ya, wouldn't you think they did something? So no I don't think this "hit" was that dangerous (although things can happen any time you go to the ground), but Josh taught him a lesson to keep his damn hands to himself after the ball is already gone. This wasn't like a receiver forgoing making a play on the ball specifically to try to draw a penalty, there was actual unnecessary contact and Josh just made sure the ref noticed.

Baltimore's Defence - As good as advertised?
1ManRaid replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Adam Schefter said on Twitter that he's concerned about the refs calling penalties "because of the way the Ravens CBs play defense". I was like don't you mean the concern is for the Ravens COMMITTING penalties? I hope they don't get the Gilmore treatment of a free pass on illegal contact on 3/4 of his plays. -
Well now I'm mad..... Talking heads Lamar vs. Josh
1ManRaid replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also have to consider the possibility of the Bills being more competitive in the followup game against the Chiefs if they didn't have to suffer through the Titans' nonsense. Aside from that, teams with a gimmick crutch like the Ravens are much more susceptible to being "figured out" and shut down by good playoffs teams rather than teams like the Bills who can say "We're going to pass the ball down your throats and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it". I'd much rather simply be the unstoppable force, than have to rely on constantly catching defenses off guard. The Ravens will inevitably roll snake eyes and catch a team actually prepared to contain Jackson (aside from the possibility of still outgunning them even without stopping him). -

Love how they talk about Jackson's best runs being important while not even considering Allen's best passes. Much more important to have a QB who can still impose his will on top pass defenses with his arm like Allen while also being able to run, than HAVE to run like Jackson as a crutch to make up for a lack of passing skill. -

I was more concerned about the whole having to prepare for two teams at the same time thing because the NFL waited until the last minute to see if they were going to reschedule the game again if the Titans kept getting positive tests. I'm still adamant the Titans should have forfeited. -

It's a valid vent. Ya, weird how they laughed when 55% of the popular fan vote took the underdog Browns to win (which had a better pick record than most of the experts) before it turned out to be right. Almost as if the so called experts only care about storyline narratives like it's the freaking WWE or something. An injured Allen, Titans Covid schedule shenanigans, 10 Bills penalties, Titans going +3 in turnovers, and a pre-bye Bills defense helped Tennessee in a game they only managed 336 yards of offense. -
Key to beating the Ravens- beating the blitz
1ManRaid replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think I also read that we're something like 2nd in the league in % of plays with 4+ WRs, while Baltimore is one of the weakest defenses against that lineup. So we have a Bills offense that is elite against the blitz and runs a ton of 4 WR sets, against a defense that blitzes a ton and is vulnerable to being spread out. Could be a bloodbath if we score early and Jackson is forced to pass his way out of a hole. But no, all everyone can talk about is how their rushing attack matches against our defense. -
‘Did You Know’ thread about the Bills

"Eric Dickerson Says New Rams Logo Looks Like a Penis After Criticism from Fans" They just had to consult someone named Dickerson for a quote about a penis, didn't they? -
Two missed tackles is THE reason there is still this flawed perception that the Colts "ran all over us". 62 of the Colts' rushing yards came on two broken tackle runs from Hines of 29 and 33 yards while we were defending against the pass, inflating the total and averages. We actually held Taylor to 3.7 yards per rush for the game.
-
Just take the L and get over it.
-
News flash CJ Spiller and Devin Singletary both managed higher averages in lower carry backup roles, then dropped off when thrust into a starting role. The "change of pace" or whatever you call it backup often gets a higher average. Would you call Hines better than Taylor based on their performances Saturday afternoon? I'm not even saying Freeman is good, just pointing out the flaws of simply invoking averages without context.

I also find it weird how he is criticized for "INTs that luckily were called back" on FREE PLAYS (is PFF still doing that) while Rodgers is hailed for taking the opportunity at a big play or pass interference. Some don't understand the INT never actually existed in the first place as it's a dead play if the penalty isn't declined.
