The Ryland Redemption game! Great day.
-
It's cool that we won't have to see Maye or Williams in the division.
-
Barmore is pretty amazing. He just bull rushes & overpowers.

Kicking is so weird. It's one of those things a lot of people can physically do - but the mental aspect is bigger than almost any other position. Once you lose confidence, it snowballs. It's happened so many times. Feel bad for that dude. Not a fun xmas eve for him.

Are you or anyone in your family big gift givers for Christmas?
Success replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
With my "birth" family, it was ridiculous. The presents would spread out from the tree & fill half the living room. It took us 3+ hours to open 'em, and we took a break for brunch in between. With my "married" family, it's much more low-key. Basically 1 gift per person. I like both. No rules at xmas. -
Why is it so hard for fans to admit reality?

If people want to be relentlessly negative, I don't really have a problem w/ it. But I'm not down w/ eyerolling or giving the thumbs down on posts that are more positive. We disagree on what this team is. They're inconsistent - but when they're on their game, they're as good as any team. -
I actually have no worries about the Pats tonight. They're at home, and they're really not that bad - a lot of close losses. Belichick still has some pride. They're winning.

Phins aren't real. The Ravens are. We'll get our division shot.
-
Refs call that phantom hold on Morse yesterday - but miss a textbook hold that they could have shown in football class on a crucial play today. I genuinely hate officiating. I hate it.
-
Should have been holding on that play - BLATANT holding. Refs missed a few in this game today.

Coaches tend to overcomplicate things.

The Cowboys are NOT serious contenders. They fooled the league for a few weeks there.
-
Dallas and Miami really are both frauds. But Dallas can still take this. They need a turnover.
-
We didn't lose to the Jags. We lost to Goodell.
-
Merry Christmas!

Great day except for that Cowboys turnover. Which, admittedly, was a downer.
-
It reminded me of the Jets, Pats & Broncos games. A game where we were clearly the better team, but gave the other team a lot of points via turnovers, and self-destructed on our own drives with penalties (in addition to turnovers). Hair-pulling frustration for most of the game - not enjoyable to watch, and basically just an exhale of relief when the clock hit 0. That said - Allen had some absolutely epic throws. Just superman, physics-defying, game-changing plays.
-
The Browns have flown under the radar - but they're gonna be a tough out for anyone in the playoffs.

Did anyone get a lump in their throats...

They showed it afterwards, too - and talked about how that lane was open. That would have been cruel. -
Oh, I feel great. Because I know how I would have felt if we didn't pull it out. Winning ugly is still winning. It means nothing in the scheme of things - many championship teams have multiple games like that. The key is winning it - we've won the last couple of close ones, which bucks our usual trend, and hopefully starts a new one.

It's a real testament to how spoiled we are not that many here think that was a bad game from JA. He made at least 3 absolutely jaw-dropping throws, and had a solid game overall. 2 very good throws were taken away by ridiculous penalties on what was likely going to be a drive that would have put the game away. It wasn't a great game for him. But it was pretty good. -
Goes without saying - but that game is a blowout without turnovers & penalties. We can win a SB if we tighten it up, or lose in the WC round if we don't.
-
I like that we're winning more close games. That's all I've got right now.

Eisen "Don't let the Bills in the playoffs"
Success replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
The AFC is a relative cakewalk this year. As we know, our team could lose to anyone. But there is no team in the AFC that scares me, like the Chiefs of the past few years. The Ravens are alright, but if both teams play their best game, the Bills win. The SB is a different story. It feels like the Niners' year, and they are truly an elite team. But getting there could be an easier path than we've had in the JA era to this point. If we make it.
