It becomes a thing, I think. If you have a great QB and can contend for a SB, it's best to win one early to get the monkey off your back. The Pats run might have been different if they lost that 1st one to the Rams. And I remember our own SB runs. Once we lost the first, it was so tense for the rest of 'em. I think I remember Madden saying something like "The Bills might want to win this one TOO badly" in the 2nd SB. Same thing happened to the Broncos around that time. But teams can shift the narratives. Peyton Manning turned his fortunes after years of being a "playoff choker" and all that. Elway did the same. Playing loose is such an important factor in high-pressure games.

We have to make it an advantage. Our team is in Buffalo. They'll likely make the playoffs often with Allen, and will be playing a lot of games in January in the years ahead. Weather is likely to be a big factor in many of those. The team can embrace crazy weather, as they did w/ the frigid playoff game against the Pats - or fold in it, as they did against Cincy last year. I think Beane has taken steps since that game to make the team more physical, and more versatile. We can block & run w/ the best of them now. And we have a tank of a QB who can make things happen in any conditions. We probably would have won that Pats wind game if they just let him sling it the whole game.

Congrats to BB on a great career, and for creating an entire generation of cartoonishly arrogant New England fans.

I'm worried about the weather, like most here. But what I like about it is that if we CAN take a lead of more than a score, we'll be sitting pretty. I don't think they can come back against us, if they need to pass in that weather w/ Rudolph.

It's close between KC and Dallas, but I chose Dallas. I still like Reid, and the KC market & history has always reminded me of Buffalo. I hate just hating a team because they've been winning. But Dallas, and the 90's....

That one play was 100% worth the entire contract. Harty saved our season, and gave us as good a chance for our 1st SB as we could have hoped.

Well, that for sure would be an extinction event. But we'd probably get another moon w/ that kind of collision, and possibly more than one, which would be cool for the next dominant species.

I'm anticipating the conditions to be like the Ravens playoff game. That was tough wind - but nothing like the Pats game. We could still pass, but some long ones were sailing, and we missed 2 field goals. The run game & run defense will both have to be on point.

Until the last few weeks, I thought the Steelers were 100% frauds. There is something to be said for eeking out wins in close games, so I have to give them credit for that - but they were one of the luckiest teams in the league to be in the position they were heading into the final weeks. Since they began starting Rudolph, they've looked like a different team. That concerns me much more than some wind. But I still think they're the best draw in the AFC, and a team we should beat 8x out of 10.

That's a pretty tough article. I think that writer is wrong. But I'm biased.

If it's closer to 20 - that really ain't too bad. The wind is the only thing that concerns me. Snow wouldn't be bad, as long as it's not like the Pats/Jets game.

Allen has been going high. He picks up more ground when he goes low. The last one the other night was tough - he put himself in a position where it was hard for any other players to give him a push. And a little nudge was all that was needed there.

If Douglas can't play, I kind of hope they can get Elam back into the mix a little bit. Though, Jackson played great last week too.

We'll stack the box too - and do it w/ more confidence. No matter what the conditions, the Steelers will have to defend the pass. They have a better running game & line, but it's not night & day. We're playing the Pittsburgh Steelers. This is not a very good team. We couldn't have hoped for a better draw. Weather or no, this game shouldn't be that close.

I think wind favors the Bills. Rudolph has a strong enough arm - but I've never seen anyone throw in the wind like Allen. Anyone remember the strike to Diggs in the EZ in the Pat/wind game? I think that was over 40 yards, and he put it right on Diggs hands. And, fortunately, the Bills have a run game now. We can run on anyone if we have to.

Wasn't the 2nd INT yesterday more of the back foot one? Watching that replay, that one didn't bother me a bit. If he throws it away there, Miami gets better field position. The 1st INT was weird - seemed like more of a miscommunication w/ the WR, but that was more on JA (imo).

Allen has what you want in a franchise QB (aside from ridiculous talent): a short memory. That 1st half would have wrecked the confidence of so many QB's. But Allen keeps slinging.

Dane may be the best tackler on the team. He had a few important ones last night, including the 3rd down where Berrios caught it just a few short inches from the marker and he kept him from getting the 1st.

THIS is where getting to 6-6 and having to fight & claw every single game to get to this point will pay some dividends. This team has gotten used to the season being on the brink for over a month now. They have learned all of the ins & outs of high-pressure situations, and how to handle them. I have a hunch this might be the secret sauce that's been missing from our previous playoff appearances. I think we're poised for a big run.

I'd encourage anyone to go to the 1st half game thread, and look at the posts from around the 30's to the end of the thread. It wasn't measured, "warranted" criticism. It was ridicule. Fans here made him sound like a clown.

The comments in the 1st half were unbelievably ridiculous. Allen was getting mocked. Fans here were saying they didn't want him as Bills QB anymore. They have to own that.

And Josh Allen says to everyone who doubted him and even mocked him earlier...are you not entertained?

This isn't the fanbase I thought it was. The mocking of Allen is.....stupefying. He has had some bad throws. We would not be in the game, and wouldn't still have a great chance to win, without him. It's actually kind of sickening.
