Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME
Success replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Anything to put the Bills in a negative light. Wright will pick against us every step of the way - and when we win, there will always be some reason unrelated to actually deserving the win. I like the other guys on that show, but simply cannot watch it anymore. He's trying to become the heir to Bayless. -
The Bills haven't been blown out once this year. Every loss (and many wins) have been incredibly close. I'd really like our odds. I mean, I always do - but we seem to be getting healthier at a time when most of the other contenders are having injury issues, and if we get the 2 seed, we may end up playing at home the whole way.

It’s division title or bust (updates on non-Bills games)
Success replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Either of those things could definitely happen. It's a weird year, and both are division rivalries. And both Pitt & Jax are pretty middlin' teams. -
How can anyone not pull for a team to get their 1st title, in any sport? If the Bills don't get there, I'd love to see this match-up.

Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME

Huntley has a fair amount of experience, and he's been pretty solid at times. Heard the weather for that game will be miserable. Maybe he can lead the Ravens to a W in a close, low-scoring kind of game. Not counting on it, certainly. But it'd be nice. -
Do you get happy when the Holiday season is over?
Success replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
I'm happy during the holidays - but afterward, there is definitely a feeling of some relief. -
This wouldn't be a dilemma if I was a Phins fan - I remember the drought, and how hard it is to find a good QB. And Tua is a good QB. They'll overpay a bit, but you sometimes have to at that position.

My humble quest to watch every single NFL game this year

I kind of miss the days before I was married... -
Just read some stats on teams that rest their starters - the % that lose in the divisional round are pretty eye-opening. Statistically, it's much better to treat the last game as a normal game. Really hoping the Ravens decide to play their starters, or at least most of them. It would be a nice surprise to head into Sunday knowing that we didn't 100% need to win.

Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME

Do the Belichick thing - focus on Hill, and limit his impact. Waddle will either be out, or playing w/ a hurt ankle. The Bills haven't had a "big" game for awhile, on offense. I think there is a chance this game might be over early. -
So how are we feeling about Coach McDermott?
Success replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought we were done after Philly. Even though there have been some nailbiters, we did just win 4 in a row at a very important time, against good competition for the most part. He's not top tier - but he's not bottom tier either. What coaches in the league are great & consistent week after week? That's really the question. Good coaching is hard to find, and McD is solid. -
It's a division game, it's on Saturday, and they have the bye. I'd be really surprised if they didn't play starters for a half. Which is about all they'd need. I'm still of the mindset that we'll have to beat Miami to get in, but we may get a surprise in this one.

Long conversation between McD and Belichick
Success replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll get some eyerolls, but I respect it. I think the "cheating" thing was way overblown, and there is no denying what that coach & QB did for 15+ years. I can praise it now that we're past it. It was tough for me to acknowledge what they accomplished while they were still on top. -

Phins are without their 2 best pass rushers. It won't be like yesterday. The Pats line - despite their record - is one of the best in the league, and harried Allen all day. Allen should have time next week and that could be the big difference in the game. -

Miami fans online are cracking me up - they think the move to primetime is the end of the season for them. Have they been that bad in primetime games? I feel like we haven't been great either. -
I'd probably give 70%. They're more banged up than we are right now - if Waddle tries to come back next week, he won't be as effective (imo). A high ankle sprain is at least a few weeks for a WR. Losing Chubb really hurts them against our run. I generally give Allen a big edge over Tua - but JA does seem off. Not sure if it's the shoulder. The Bills fought hard to get this opportunity, and eeked out a few nailbiters. Even I thought that things looked very bleak after the Philly loss. Miami hasn't really had that kind of journey to get here. I see a little psychological edge there. But it's a division game, and it's away. It certainly won't shock me if we lose. Miami's a good team.

Have the Bills been blown out this season? Miami has, a few times. Including against us. I respect the Phins, but they're hurting right now. They just got embarrassed, lost their best LB (which I hate, btw), and likely won't have Waddle next week also. I don't know. I feel like we lose perspective sometimes. Not that next week is guaranteed or even close to it, but we're so focused on our own struggles that we don't really see how common they are amongst our competitors.
-
What about my post was too much? I said I liked our odds, and think we're the better team. Do you not like our odds - and do you think Miami is the better team? I get that I veer positive, but it didn't seem like something anyone should have much of an issue with.
-
Sorry that it bugs ya.
-
The 70 point game skewed how people look at Miami. They're a very average team. The Bills have had a middlin' season also - but at our best, we're a tier above them. With the injuries they have, there are no excuses on this one. We have to go in there, win the division & get the 2 seed. You can't hope for a better opportunity, or a more achievable one.
-
The Bills are a very good team that plays down to the level of their competition. The Dolphins just aren't very good. I like the odds.
-
That Murray one stands out - soft pass, right on the hands, would have been a 1st down at mid-field. They scored after that. Had we kept going that drive & gotten even a FG - it's a whole different game.

Week 18 chat of games needed for Bills to clinch
Success replied to letsgoteam's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's still a division rivalry, and I'd bet Jackson & the starters play the 1st half. That said - it would feel kind of appropriate if we had to beat Miami. They are really banged up right now. I think we come out on top & take the division, and become a pretty unexpected 2 seed. -
My biggest memories of Sherfield from this season will be of him kind of getting open over the middle for a 15-20 yard gain, but getting kind of interfered w/ and not being able to complete the play.
-
We would - I just don't have a ton of faith in that, and I really can't stand KC.
