  1. Texans struck gold w/ Stroud & w/ Ryans (imo). They'll be a problem for many years.
  2. Love the shots of Stroud's mom. It would be hard being a parent of an NFL player. Fun, exciting - but hard.
  3. The bolded is correct - but it's not as easy as it sounds there. Like, it's VERY far from being as easy as it sounds there.
  4. I've been really happy for Singletary this year. The Texans have been a much better situation for him, and it seems like he's been able to really achieve his potential there. That last play notwithstanding.
  5. I'm probably too confident right now. I'll actually be shocked if KC beats us. We're better, I think last year's Cincy debacle is still fresh on the players' minds, and we just ran through the toughest part of our schedule with every game being a must-win to get this opportunity. I don't think the game will be that close. I see a statement game, not unlike the Pats playoff game. A "changing of the guard"-type of game.
  6. When I think about the injuries, I'm not so much worried about the "out" guys. I'm concerned that some of the players might be playing pretty hurt, and thus less effective. But, everyone is pretty banged up this time of year. We've been playing up KC's relative health compared to the Bills, but they have a whole list of guys they cleared today who likely aren't 100% either. Our depth is great this year, too. Might be the best it's been in the JA era.
  7. This game has potential to be surprising, in a good way. The Chiefs D is very good, but I don't think they're as formidable as many believe. They haven't been as good against the good teams - and they haven't been as good on the road. If the Bills can get off to a good start, I really feel like we could win by a wide margin. I also think that Allen is locked in right now. That long run last week felt like a statement of determination.
  8. Love all our traditions - except this one. It's a sporting event. A FAMILY event. Enough of this one.
  9. The Chiefs injury report actually isn't anything to discount. Not having Nnadi could be a big deal for our running game, and when they try to stop Allen on short yardage. They also have a bunch of guys who were cleared but have things like hammy's, obliques and calf injuries. They'll be limping around like we will.
  10. I wouldn't change that decision for anything. That would have been a 50/50 game if it was played on Sunday.
  11. I mean, really - what other GM would anyone want? What he did after we lost White, Milano and Jones, he was fantastic. And now we see a lot of draft picks really pan out - Bernard, Epenesa, Cook, Shakir, Kincaid, even Oliver is exceeding expectations. He's doing as good a job as anyone.
  12. This needs to be a great game for the line. And when they get to Mahomes, they have to contain - without big passing plays, that offense is only really dangerous when he is able to break free of that 1st line of defense and rack up big yards.
  13. I don't think so. I said before the season that this is the best roster Beane has put together - and I still think that's true. But we've been hit harder than most with injuries this year, and certainly much harder than our opponent Sunday. People can call that an "excuse" if we lose and it's brought up. It's just reality. How can we judge someone for the roster construction when at least a third of the starting roster is out?
  14. Hopefully Dodson & Bernard.
  15. Oops. Meant Dane.
  16. Bummed about Benford - but we're still pretty solid at CB. If Douglas & Davis are starting, that's a very good tandem. And if Bernard can play & be effective, it's huge.
  17. The media is in such overdrive about how big of a "legacy" game this is for Allen and the Bills, and the whole "if they can't beat KC now, when will they ever?" It's truly annoying. We lost one game we should have lost in the AFCCG, and then lost to a coin flip. If we get the W Sunday - the narrative should shift significantly. It will likely become that KC has NOT won since 13 seconds, can't beat the Bills in the regular season, and can't beat the Bills in the playoffs anymore. Looking forward to that narrative.
  18. I knew it as soon as that game ended. And it bummed me out, because that game is an incredible classic, and features my favorite QB playing probably his best game. But like you said - I can't watch a second. If they start showing even a small highlight, I change the channel as quickly as possible.
  19. Bernard is still the biggie there, imo. Obviously, losing Benford would hurt, but I like our depth there - if Douglas and Davis are the main tandem, with Elam backing up & Johnson in the slot, that's a pretty capable group of DB's and not a huge drop-off. Davis & Rapp give us more versatility at their respective positions, but again, not big drop-offs w/ the guys who can play. If Spector is practicing tomorrow, I'll feel a little better about the LB position.
  20. Man, I'm just so happy we're here. There was a 4-week stretch where we lost to the Bengals, had the 12-man fiasco w/ the Broncos, and saw Philly's kicker make a 60-yarder in the rain. We were at 6-6, with something like a 14% chance to make the playoffs. The division seemed out of reach. That article came out about McDermott that seemed like it could send things spiraling. We were starting to talk coaching changes & the draft on here, and I was getting a ton of laughing emojis for still hoping beyond hope that we could go on a run. Now here we are w/ the 2 seed, in the divisional round, and favorites against a VISITING Chiefs team, which we haven't seen in the Mahomes era. McDermott deserves credit, imo. It was a lot of close games and nail-biting, but he put together a fantastic run to close the season and bring us our 4th division title in a row.
  21. I'm not as worried about the D as a few others here. McDermott is excellent on that side of the ball. He'll make things tough on the KC offense no matter who can & can't play. I feel really good about this one. I think this team is motivated to avoid what happened against Cincy last year.
  22. I'll be crazy nervous for every game, and the Ravens are great. But after KC, it will be nice to have a game that has no other baggage. And I definitely think the Texans can win. They remind me of the Bills from a few years ago. Still young & without big expectations, and just having fun. Stroud is legit.
  23. My own feeling is that if we get past this one, this is the year. We might face better teams after the Chiefs, but none that have the psychological 'hurdle' that KC represents. It will feel a little more downhill if we're still playing after Sunday.
  24. I wouldn't say woefully. We're about as banged up as many teams are at this stage of the season. The Chiefs just happen to be healthy by comparison. I anticipate most of the guys on our injury report will play on Sunday. That's just how it goes in January.
