  1. I was "Future Success" on the old BBMB. I joined after that Dallas MNF game. I was just despondent, as I'm sure most of us were, about how that game fell apart. I wanted my board name to be a positive affirmation for the days ahead. On this board, I ditched the "Future," because hey - we're there!
  2. Unpopular opinion - but I think Wilson has had more "wow" plays than any QB in that class. With him, it's just cutting down the mistakes. Whether he can do that remains to be seen - but the skill is there to be a very good QB.
  3. If I'm honest - Allen is just like Brady & Peyton Manning, both of whom I have complained about often. Really, they all do it. But JA - because of his high profile - is definitely getting a reputation around the league, judging by some of the other sports message boards. Which is fine by me. After being on the other side of it for decades, I love that we have a star QB who asks for, and gets, the calls.
  4. Great team for Hodgins right now. Happy for him.
  5. We're also at a different level of talent on this team right now. It will be less likely that late rounders are able to make this team in the next couple of years. This was just a great trade. I have loved reading the comments from Colts fans online about him (they're mostly pulling for the Bills, too). It sounds like we got a guy who is great on the field but also a positive presence overall.
  6. Colts fans LOVED this guy. High character, high energy - fun personality. And loads of talent.
  7. The Falcons really put out the blueprint for how to blow a lead in a big game. I get what they were trying to do - "don't play not to lose." But Ryan was rushing up to the line when they had that big lead, and they were getting a lot of plays off with over 10 seconds still on the clock. It's case by case, but the clock CAN be your friend when you have a 2+ score lead. The best teams can usually switch to the run game & break hearts as they grind out one 1st down after another....
  8. I've eaten a large amount of wings, and just about everywhere. For my money, the best I've had were at The Distillery in Rochester.
  9. Bills fans - we've got a good one w/ Brandon Beane.
  10. That would be a smart move for them. Hodgins has talent.
  11. Thanks - I'm still learning these things...
  12. I mean, that's one play - and he was right there.
  13. I wish Hodgins had gotten more of a shot here - but we have so many good receivers. Hopefully he finds a home w/ another team.
  14. My son has Jonathan Taylor on his fantasy. He'll love this news.
  15. Yeah - this by no means should be interpreted as "giving up on Cook." Cook is a big part of the Bills future, imo.
  16. We didn't give up much, and Hines is good. We got better.
  17. How do they do that? That's lightning quick...
  18. I'm surprised at this board. Beane knows what he's doing. He's not going to force a trade on an already stacked team just to "do something." His acquisitions have been very calculated, and very strategic. He doesn't part with draft picks foolishly.
  19. Fans there can't stand it. He's one of their few playmakers when he's out there. But Bill has some sort of weird Bill thing w/ him.
  20. Here's the deal w/ the rematch against the Dolphins - they won't be able to enjoy spending most of the game in weather that's over 10 degrees cooler than the opposing team. They gotta come to the cold. I wonder if we can prevent them from using heaters on the sideline, just for a little tit for tat?
  21. Good. Better chance they can beat KC in the playoffs before they even get to us.
  22. "Mediocre" is an inaccurate characterization. We tend to always judge players more on where they were picked, or the capital we invested in them, instead of on their own merits. I can accept that he may not have lived up to the draft position & trade for that position yet. But he's a very good player, and a key part of our defense. He's not mediocre.
  23. What I liked about Cook's game last night is that it wasn't one of those things where he had some gaping holes and just burst through them, as any RB should. He really showed how shifty and creative he can be once he gets the ball in his hands. And he's had a handful of plays prior to last night where the potential was pretty visible. With the way Singletary is playing and Cook is emerging, I think we could easily stand pat and be fine. But I trust the Bills' braintrust, and if they make a move, I'll be stoked.
  24. One phrase that we truly haven't celebrated the demise of - "Same ol' Bills." Couldn't stand it when people said that (though, it applied for years).
