  1. Agreed - there is so much time between now and then. I think it still could be on the table. But of course, I know very little. One thing I do know is that this staff is very cautious with injuries, which I love. They don't put winning ahead of player safety, at least from what I can see as a fan. They gave Tre all kinds of time, and no one would say they rushed him back. They'll be the same w/ Hyde. If they feel 100% that there is no risk, he'll play.
  2. Cook has had some "near" breakout games - I think this is one he's really going to shine in.
  3. I don't disagree - but the narrative on Mahomes would be a whole lot different if Jimmy G had hit a wide open receiver for a long TD pass in the 1 Super Bowl KC won. It's why I don't compare JA and Mahomes based on playoff successes & failures. For me, it was the same w/ the Brady/Manning comparisons. Brady had the GOAT coach and consistently more well-rounded rosters. Manning went through 5 coaches and often had to carry those Colts teams.
  4. It's a team game. We've had to play in KC every time, and they had the better team when we played them in the AFCCG 2 years ago. Last year, it was neck & neck, and I thought JA outplayed Mahomes in the 4th. If not for a complete defensive lapse, JA should have won that game. And Mahomes disappeared the next week. He has fallen short in the playoffs & SB more than he has come through.
  5. They have very different styles. I don't see how anyone could call it "ludicrous" to value Allen's skill set more. Mahomes' style is more akin to Steph Curry in the NBA. An amazing player, but he gets a little careless w/ his "Globetrotters" kind of style at times. He's a little too loose. Mahomes makes quite a few amazing plays that way - but also some bad ones. I just think Allen can do a bit more, and has a slightly better arm. It's close, but I think Allen will go down as the better QB when all is said & done.
  6. I'm not lecturing anybody. Just a thread of thanks.
  7. I think a lot of us here have been fans since the SB years, and even before. I still consider us incredibly lucky to have had a QB like Jim Kelly, even though those teams couldn't close the deal. A lot of fanbases are lucky to get a QB like that once in their lifetime. But we got another. And if you had told any of us on draft day that this is what we could have expected, we wouldn't have believed it. And I was really happy about that pick - but I never imagined he'd turn out to be this much of a force. There is a lot of debate about this, as there will always be w/ QBs - but I personally believe he is the best in the league right now. It's obviously close with Mahomes, but I wouldn't trade them if I could, and I like to believe I'm judging that objectively. It's funny how quickly we get used to amazing play, week after week. We're accustomed to it now, so don't really think about it. But for almost a quarter of a century here, it wasn't the way. I'm not sure if any other fanbase has had to endure so much bad QB play over such a long stretch - maybe Cleveland. The reward for our loyalty has come, in the form of a scrambling, running, hurdling unicorn, with a cannon for an arm and a fierce competitive drive. Just wanted to take a minute today to thank the universe.
  8. What have you seen to say something like the bolded? He can't move in the pocket, and his pocket awareness is somewhere in the bottom half of the league's QB's. He floats the ball when he throws more than 15 yards (which is why they have him doing mainly quick outs and slants). He's okay w/ a perfectly clean pocket, but if things break down at all, he can't improvise, and has limited ability to scramble or evade pressure. He's a middlin' game manager, regardless of OC. He will most likely be a career backup.
  9. It's kind of wild that Cincy could "steal" the 1 seed - feels like they've been flying under the radar until the KC win. That game is going to be humongous.
  10. I've been wracking my brain for days now. I can't think of a thing. It has brought me to the realization that I'm perfect. Thank you for this thought exercise.
  11. I'm already thinking about next year's Super Bowl.
  12. Honestly, if we had Beasley all season, we'd probably have 1 loss right now (at most).
  13. This isn't some marginal move - he's a great 3rd down guy. This will change the offense.
  14. I know. Sorry, I'm salty. It will be like this w/ me & the Pats the rest of my days, unfortunately.
  15. Oh, good. We're all so excited to hear that on this board. Thank you.
  16. They are, but the Cards also have no offensive line right now either. Pats fans will be full of themselves all week, but this is fool's gold.
  17. Their 1st string QB is out of the game.
  18. Right? What was that overturn? If anything, it touched a couple of blades of grass. It didn't assist the catch at all.
  19. I hate the Patriots and all of their stupid Patriots luck.
  20. I hope the Pats stick w/ him for a decade.
  21. Teams STILL fold against Belichick. I didn't have a ton of hope in the Cards tonight, anyway.
  22. Not at all. Most QB's see there efficiency reduced w/ pressure - but w/ Jones, it's pretty extreme. He looks good when he has a clean pocket, but can't create when it breaks down.
  23. When Jones has time, he can throw. When he doesn't, he can't.
  24. You'd rather face the coach that has been to 11 Super Bowls? Or is it 12? No thanks. Cards all the way tonight.
  25. McKenzie is a player who will have really good games for us, and really bad games. I wish fans would recognize that, and go a little easier on him. He's not supposed to be the starter. People get too crazy online when a player has a few drops - he's still a Buffalo Bill and has come up big for us at times.
