Brandon Beane Set To Double Down on 2022’s Big Disappointments
Success replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
I actually like all 3 of those guys. I'm surprised some want to move on from Brown, after what happened w/ Teller. He gets one more season where he hopefully isn't dealing w/ an injury situation. Gabe Davis also had his own injury issues - and he has stepped up in both the 2021 and 2022 playoffs (his drop against Cincy notwithstanding). I'm also surprised how eager some fans are to move on from him. He's got the talent, and I'm going to bet when Allen has better protection, he'll excel. Oliver is the only player there that I'd be ready to move on from. But again - he has the talent, and in a contract year, I think it's a good gamble to keep him on the team and starting. He could have an Edmunds type of breakout year. -
My dream of the Patriots turning into a clown franchise for many years is progressing nicely. Really, the best part is how unprepared that fanbase is for stuff like this.

I'd trade a 2030 7th rounder to see if he could fit in as a 3rd stringer.

I just saw something on that! They were saying something about how it might be more of a donut shape, so it just goes around & around (so, we could travel all of those billions of miles and end up where we started). Or something like that. A good 80% of it flew comfortably above my head.

I’d like to see the Bills bring back Shaq Lawson and pay him fairly.

Loved how he played last year. He & just about everyone were even better when Miller was in the line-up. I really think that w/ McD calling plays, our D can be a true #1, and totally fierce. -

Our window is wide open and will be for many years (qualifier: only unpopular among opposing fans).

Nice Break Down on Bills Acquisitions By Fins Fan
Success replied to newcam2012's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Beane has done a great job this FA period, given our cap. I didn't have any expectations given that limitation - and we've added a group of very solid players. Mostly upgrades from what we had at OG, RB and WR. We also kept Poyer, and only really lost Edmunds. We'll likely be one of the top 3-4 teams heading into '23. Can't ask for much more than that. -
What's good for KC isn't necessarily good for the Bills. As much as anyone else, Diggs changed the culture here and was integral to making this team a contender. He gives opposing DC's a ton of challenges. I hope he's here for the rest of his career.

A lot of movies made in the '80's couldn't be made today. I get some "pc," but art should be allowed to be art. I miss the days when filmmakers weren't as concerned about offending people. So, '80's.

Name 2 players the Buffalo Bills will select in the 2023 NFL Draft
Success replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just saw something where they think Campbell's stock is rising, and they were talking about him in the top 20. Who knows - but based on mocks I've seen, it seems likely he'll go in the 1st. Caveat: I saw 2 college football games last year. -
I thought it was exaggerated. This past season was the 1st one we were favored to go to the SB.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

It's the ultimate team game, and rings are a team accomplishment. -

I think Reid is the best coach in the league. He is better than McD. But sorry - Allen & Mahomes are pretty even. Somewhat different skillsets, but I would not trade Allen for Mahomes. -
That wasn't really my point. I'm less concerned about them long-term. Next year, they'll be a tougher out. I think they're making a mistake. They had a very good thing going - a team loaded w/ great young talent. And there are other QB's available that wouldn't have chewed up miles of cap, and come w/ other moves that diminish their chances of contending after Rodgers moves on. I'll take that. I thought they were building a team that could be our primary competition throughout the Allen era. Not seeing that now.
-
I was actually careful not to say "washed up." I said "semi-washed," which many objective observers of Rodgers' play last season agree with. He is, without a doubt, not as good as he used to be. He'll make the Jets a LOT better - next year. But I don't think good enough to challenge us for the division, and they'll sacrifice a fair amount of future improvement to go all in for the time they have him. I dont care if you disagree w/ me. Disagree all day. But saying Rodgers is not playing as well as he used to is not a homer take.
-
You're not exactly the "credibility guy." So, ya know - I'll take that w/ a grain of salt & all.
-
Pretty well explained in the post you responded to.
-
I was more concerned about the Jets last year, when they had a talented young team and looked like they could build a contender for years. Now, they are set to go all in for a year or 2 on a semi-washed QB, who might get them to the playoffs but probably not a SB, and it will make them much weaker in the long-term.

As long as it isn't the Chiefs. The Chiefs are in an interesting spot in terms of WR. If they just stand pat, they'll have the weakest unit they've had since Mahomes has been there. -
I doubt they go defense for all of the high round picks - but it wouldn't disappoint me to see a few picks go toward the D. We need a LB, and we need a better pass rush. I don't expect them to stand pat on the O-line. We added 2 good guards, which is great. I think they are penciling Brown in at RT, and obviously Morse & Dawkins' positions are set right now. Really, all they have to do in the draft is find a swing tackle who can compete w/ Brown. 2nd or 3rd round probably works for getting a good player who could potentially start right away if needed. Beane has also talked about the depth in this draft at the TE position, so I could see another pick in the 1st rounds going that way - but otherwise I'm fine w/ mostly defense.

The Colts could have easily won that Saints SB, also. That onside kick turned the whole game. That's part of the game, but a pretty unlucky break for the Colts that the return team couldn't handle that kick. It's a somewhat similar situation. The Colts had to deal w/ the massive obstacle New England presented. We have the Chiefs & Bengals.
-
That's just football fandom. People forget that it's a team game. I hear it ALL the time on the internet this year. "Well, clearly Mahomes is better than Allen - he has 2 Super Bowls." This isn't tennis.

Jordan Phillips back with Bills 1 year deal
Success replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
A healthy Jordan Phillips would have made a significant difference for us in the playoffs. When he & Miller were BOTH healthy, they were a real force. Our physicality and ability to both pressure the QB and make impact plays on defense were night & day for the 1st couple of months to the season vs. the last month or so.
