  1. Some of those stats make for a valid comparison. Team records & records in the playoffs do not.
  2. MVP is a relative award, and the SB is a team accomplishment In year 5 of both careers: JA had a better completion %, more yards, better QBR, and the same # of TD's.
  3. I suppose the bolded is true if you ignore JA's improvement in years 3, 4 & 5. By his 3rd year, JA was better in just about every aspect of the game. Years 3-5 aren't really comparable between the 2 players. Cam was only over 60% completion once. He was only over 4,000 yards once. He threw for fewer TD's than Allen in that timeframe, and his QBR was worse. It would be more accurate to say Cam was better in the 1st 2 years of both of their careers. After year 2, there isn't a comparison.
  4. I'd like to see Belichick throw a phone. Or a tablet.
  5. That's real trouble for the Pats. We're basically as injured as they are - but our depth and talent is so superior to theirs. We can absorb it. I don't think they can. This game should be a blowout.
  6. I said after the 13 seconds game that he had potential to be not just the best in the league today, but the GOAT. His skillset is so complete. He has ALL of the physical skills, all of the throws, and all of the intangibles & competitiveness. I still think that. As a possibility, of course.
  7. I love Harris. I was surprised we weren't utilizing him more, but Cook & Murray have both been really good. Still, Harris is great depth.. Hopefully he's back after the 4 weeks and fully healthy. Is there a limit to the # of players that can go on the more temporary IR designation?
  8. Mahomes has clunkers. Burrow DEFINITELY has clunkers. I find myself watching Mahomes, and when he makes a mistake, thinking "Allen would get slammed for that." It always seems to me like JA has much less margin for error, and when he makes mistakes, the reaction is more about "a pattern" than the fact that he's just a great player who makes mistakes or has bad games once in awhile. If I had to guess, I'd say it was because it took him awhile to become the QB he is today, and people formed opinions about him during his 1st couple of years, which were very different.
  9. The offense is carrying us this game, anyway. They've had 2 meh games in a row - this has gotta be a "get right" game. Put up a 2 score lead & see if Mac Jones can lead a comeback.
  10. I like the way both of these guys play. They just seem to be flying all over the place, and are always around the ball. It's a different LB corps than Edmunds/Milano. It just seems faster - but I don't think they give up much in physicality. Both Williams and Bernard are good tacklers when they have good position.
  11. My thoughts on the game: - I miss the days when Allen ran for big gains - It's time to retire the "shushing" thing that players do after a TD
  12. There is a ton of talk about tanking in New England. What do you all think? Would Belichick actually TRY to lose games? Obviously, not in the coaching - but in resting guys, starting different players, et al. Some would argue that they don't have to tank, and their schedule is really hard. But there are winnable games on there. They could get 3-5 wins along the way, and miss out on the top QB prospects (preferable). I'd be kind of shocked if out of the 5-6 teams w/ the worst records, they were the ones to really go all in on the tank for one of the top 2 picks.
  13. I think the Pats have close to 20 guys on the report this week. And that's w/ an already bad team..
  14. It's better to start off lackluster, and finish strong. We kind of did the opposite last year. We did it the more proper way the year before, but just blew it at the end of the KC game. Still, we were firing on all cylinders in the playoffs that year. I remember when the Pats used to start slow. Most of the nation would overreact..."is this the end of the dynasty?" Then, they kick it in during November and tear through the league until the AFCCG, and often the SB.
  15. I mean - both of those teams have struggled a bit, too.
  16. More worried about the Phins and Jags this year.
  17. Milano is great, but not flawless. Even the best players are out of position & miss tackles sometimes..
  18. I saw enough bad, meaningless football during the drought - which was lengthy. We're now the favorite in the vast majority of our games, and we have a team that can still win even if they're down a few scores going into the 4th quarter. The offense can be explosive, and the defense is stingy and one of the better D's in the league. We have a QB who is also among the best, and is always fun to watch. There isn't a single opposing fanbase who has us as a "W" on their schedule. No one wants to play this team. If you read other boards, opposing fans can only hope to get "bad Josh," or take advantage of some of our injuries. I'm happy.
  19. I saw that Milano & Jones were "out for the season" on another Bills site this morning. Do you know if that's really fact at this point? I was under the impression that the Bills had NOT ruled either out for the whole season yet.
  20. Some fans don't understand how good McD is. I don't think he's great. But I'd also put about 2 coaches in the league in the "great" category right now. If anyone watches other games on Sundays, it's pretty bleak out there. There is a LOT of bad coaching in the league.. And just to echo sentiments already expressed - who do you replace him with? If it's someone unproven - and the vast majority of candidates will fit that description - you could really take a left turn, and then you would really be wasting years while we have Allen.
  21. Super Bowl - which is what I've thought all year. But I feel better about it looking around the league. No one is that good.
  22. The Pats run against us during the drought was insanely lopsided. A run of dominance that is rare in sports. Pretty quietly, the Bills are moving to do the reverse of that, with the Pats only win in the last 7 games coming as a result of hurricane force winds. It's hard to imagine them beating us this year, and from the looks of it, they'll be starting from scratch (at least at QB) next year. Still a ways to go to match the record they had against us w/ Brady, but in the Allen era, I could see us having a similar lopsided record when all is said & done.
  23. It's good to remember. Against the Giants, we drove to their side of the field pretty often - but were derailed there by mistakes most of the time. 2 missed FG's, and one punt that should have been another attempt. One tipped pass for INT, and the fumble from Davis when we were rolling on a drive. There was also the PI that wasn't called. Seemed like almost a "Murphy's Law" kind of thing where just about every drive was undone w/ errors. But it wasn't like we couldn't move the ball.
  24. I'm torn on it. Sometimes when I'm watching the games, it seems like he's thinking too much - you can almost see the conflicting signals going on in his thought process, where his instinct is to run, but he's been told every day, "don't run!" Based on that alone, it would be easy to say "let Josh be Josh," and just have him go back to what he's used to. But, there is also a hope that as time goes on, it becomes a more automatic thing that he doesn't have to think about as much, and he can get into the flow of the game more easily. That said - it has tilted too far in the 'no running' direction. He needs to find a happy medium, where he runs like most other QB's - when it's there.
  25. Man - I checked a few Pats boards, and already lost count of the bitter, past-obsessed sentiments of "remind Bills fans they have 0 Super Bowls, and we have 6." Pre-game cope knowing that they have the ol' snowball's chance on Sunday. I knew I'd enjoy the day when all they can talk about is how good they USED to be. Gonna appreciate every one of these match-ups while we have Allen.
