Its true In plain words, the new rule allows teams the ability to place two players on injured reserve at the roster cutdown deadline to return during the season. That has not been the case in the past with the NFL; if a player went on injured reserve before the active 53-man roster is set, he was out for the season
-
Well the "53 man roster" is a misnomer of sorts. Literally every year the Bills and many teams cut to 53, put a guy on IR and sign a guy the next day back to the 53....the Bills cut their long snapper Reid Ferguson routinely with a wink/nod he will be back tomorrow. Also this year I believe you can put two guys on IR before cuts and still cut to 53 man active roster so their is easily a path to 55-56 guys "making it". And those two guys can come off IR later which is new. The downside of this is all their salaries count towards the cap.

My 57 man roster...57 men account for IR and the traditional cut down day "roster move"....probably have to cut 1 or 2 from this list. Offense (25) QB (2) - Allen, Trubisky RB (3) - Cook, Davis, Johnson FB (1) - Gilliam TE (3) - Kincaid, Knox, Morris over Davidson for special teams WR (6) - Coleman, Shakir, Samuel, Hollins, Shavers, MVS OL - Starters (5) - Brown, Dawkins, McGovern, Torrence & Edwards OL - Depth (5) - Van Denmark, Anderson, SVP, Grable, Collins Defense (28) DT (5) - Oliver, D Jones, A Johnson, D Williams, Carter DE (6) - Miller, Rousseau, Epenesa, Smoot, Jonathan, Salomon LB (7) - Milano, Bernard, Williams, Morrow, Ulofoshio, Jones, Spector CB (5) - T Johnson, Douglas, Benford, Elam, Lewis S (5) - Rapp, Hamlin, Bishop, Edwards , Jackson Specialists (4) - Ferguson (LS), Bass (PK), Martin (P) & Hardy (KR) - camp battle (1) - Isabella & Hamler (For the KR job)

That play was just awesome. He understands the moment. Only If the defense could do that once in a while…. -

Yes and no. The dolphons only win was a game dominated statistically by the bills. The bills sometimes blow them out and sometimes win close games. Chiefs games are always close with both sides winning about half. U fortunately the chiefs win the playoff games. -
I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better

I think we see it the same way. If they keep 5 then it is MVS vs Shavers at this point IMO and while Shavers can play teams, MVS has a guaranteed contract so it actually costs more on the cap to waive MVS and keep Shavers.....essentially you have to pay both in that scenario Claypool, Shorter, Hamler and Isabella are cut at this point....Hamler maybe has an outside shot if he returns kicks or there is an injury. If they keep 6 then it is probably Shavers and MVS but MVS will likely start out inactive until injuries occur or not. -

That is strong also I think we put too much emphasis on each training camp day and report, LOL. However it sounds like Shavers is getting enough work with the ones that it is plausible he makes it. That would leave MVS as expendable, but the contract is guaranteed, at this point he is a potential trade candidate like OJ Howard or he stays on the team an provides depth. I think Shavers brings more to the table for special teams vs MVS. -
Not sure if this is serious.....but if it is you are kind of ridiculous. You can find an issue with anyone who plays QB if you want to make a case (nit pick one play) they are the reason a game was lost. But if you actually look at the overall performance of Josh Allen in pressure games and think Josh is the problem then you are not really all that knowledgeable in football. You could look at the defense who has elite performance over the last 5 years but routinely collapses when the chips are down but nah lets blame Josh Allen. Right, people talk about how the Bills have all these losses and ignore the Dolphins lost more important pieces who are young and in their prime.

Is it really price gouging? Even if you have only watch one game a week it comes to $20 per week. Why is that price gouging? Is pay per view boxing WWE or MMA price gouging? -
Now would be a good time to move Douglas to Safety
Matt_In_NH replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not to mention he is really good at being a CB. -
My memory if that camp was Josh worked as the #3 all camp and got very little work with the ones. Peter mean did look better is what was reported. They were planning on taking three into the season but the raiders made a strong offer for McCarren and then Peterman showed who he was in real life forcing the bills to put Allen in at halftime.

James Cook has less touches than Ray Davis over past 5 seasons
Matt_In_NH replied to freddyjj's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most would have guessed this to be the case. Cook had limited touches in college and as a rookie. Davis made the rounds to various colleges getting lots of touches. Cook has limitation is pass pro and short yardage situations. You need a ying to his yang. Cook will get paid decently as a fa if he stays healthy and productive. Hopefully not by the bills. Davis is a different type of back. You need different types of backs. Davis will likely be here longer than cook and if that happens there will be another new guy to put in the mix. Had not heard an about Davis fumbles. That is concerning. -

Thanks captain downer! 7-9 teams have made the playoffs, lots of 9-7 teams have made it and missed. The fact is they made it, this post is the most pessimistic view of something that was significant for the team and franchise you can have. I have a feeling when the Bills win the SB you will have a post like this explaining why there were lucky, never should have won and how they are the worst SB winner ever.
