Signing and or roster bonus proration is not wizardry. The Bills have been taking from future years cap to use in the current year, lots of teams do it. There is no magic way of creating extra space rather just different thresholds teams are willing to go over for how much to take out of future years.

Henry has a very similar statline to Knox the last two years, he has worked out fine for them. Smith was an unmitigated disaster.

I agree this is a need but I also think this is something you can go into and potentially out of the draft without addressing. There will be future cuts from other teams, yes guys will get signed. Zeke Elliott? No effing way in my book. That guys lost what he once was years ago.

Evidently NFL contracts have language allowing the team to make these decisions unilaterally. It is good for the player because it gets them money sooner. But Diggs did not have to agree to this restructure.

I dont think they have much space really. The new Guard is not yet on the books. They need money for the draft class and for in season IR, probably 10M or so total. I dont expect blockbuster moves at all, maybe a couple moderate signings.

Maybe we can trade them a late rounder for George Wilson since Rodgers doesn't need him. Well the Pats should be squarely in last place so there is that. I get what you are saying but this will be temporary and I would take 27 year old allen over 40 year old Rodgers all day. Also, I would not jump to conclusions. Remember what everyone thought about the AFC West last year with the arms race behind KC and KC had to trade Hill for cap reasons. What happened? KC still the cream of the crop. Sam will happen in the AFC East.
