John Fina also called out 2 guys I’ve defended: Groot and AJE. He said next man up doesn’t mean you become Von, but it does mean you show flashes and produce. He was unhappy with the performance of both.

Locked On Bills is an amazing podcast with amazing insight. The elbow injury and arm angle is definitely plausible to being a part of why things got weird the last 9 weeks. John Fina hit the nail on the head yesterday as well. I’m sure it can and I’m sure it was, BUT these mechanic changes will affect his accuracy, which we saw. It’s made very clear in the podcast and the next episode, Bills didn’t lose because Allen’s injury or because “they ran out of gas.” They lost because of poor blocking schemes and a poor overall offensive game plan. Injuries, also, became a huge issue in the end.

He had more catches than Davis did last year… It wasn’t a blip, his drop and catch % have been consistent his whole career so far. There is no rebound for Davis, he needs a breakout. Bills need a backup plan if that doesn’t happen.

He needs to improve his catch percentage (51%) and get better about drops (10%). Specifically, he needs to get better with physical corners. Lets see if a new WR coach can help him, his book isn’t closed yet but he didn’t show the growth we all expected.

He was on the roster the same time as McKenzie, not only did he not beat him out “easily,” he didn’t beat him out at all.

Obviously a bunch of dudes on a MB know more than a 10+ year NFL vet.

It’s just crazy to me people care this much about a guy who, odds are, would be no where near the starting lineup on this team since he seems the best to be outside. He likely may not even make the 2023 roster here…

Isaiah Hodgins is the most over rated player on this MB right now. He couldn’t beat out Jake Kumerow. If he was on the roster, right now, he’s behind Davis, McKenzie, Crowder and Shakir. Seriously, y’all are whining over a guy who had 37 catches last year and is now on a one year deal. When the other WRs are healthy on the Giants he won’t see the field because he can’t block and doesn’t play special teams.

Oh for sure, especially in terms of catch and drop percentage. Metcalf hasn’t lived up to his potential yet, he could wind up being a top WR in the league but I’m not sure he’s earned the big bucks or the heavy trade value.

I’m starting to think it might be time to see if there’s a 3 Bills Drive, you’d think this team went 4-14 this year. Their record is even more impressive seeing Beane can’t draft, the FA signings are all busts, coaches are clueless, and Allen regressed.
