This is not correct at all. He is out an can not practice for the first 4 weeks. Once the Bills decide to activate him - which they can do at any time after week 4 concludes - they then have 3 weeks of roster exemption for him to practice before they add him to the active roster. So at this point - the only contact with the team is look at his rehab - he can not participate in any on field practice activities at this time until after the Ravens game. The Monday after the Ravens game is the first day they could activate him, but they do not have to - he can stay on PUP longer and still not practice - just as he is now. Once they decide to activate him to active PUP - then the clock starts ticking and they have 3 weeks for him to practice with the team, but still not count. During this 3 weeks at any point the Bills can move him to Active Roster where he will be available to play and will count against the roster and a move will need to be made. The team could decide to move him to active PUP the Monday after the Ravens game - give him the entire Pittsburgh week and the Chiefs week to get back into shape and then activate him to the roster before the Chiefs game (or Pittsburgh if they really wanted to) or they could wait until later in the season if everyone comes back to being healthy. The one thing that is certain is he can not be activated after the Dolphins game - the Ravens game is the 4th week and that is the minimum. Once he clears a hurdle and gets activated and can start practicing- then we will get some answers, but before that - there is little to see or talk about.

I agree - you don’t blame Chubb, but watching that drive - I do blame Hunt who twice went out of bounds well after picking up the 1st downs that cost them a ton of time. Stay inbounds and the Browns win. Now Chubb could of easily just ran out of bounds at the 1 because the 2 minute warning was after his play - so the clock was stopping either way, but I think that had little outcome - it was decisions before and poor coaching after that cost them the game. I agree, but as this was the play that took the clock to the 2minute warning - so the clock was stopping- he could of ran OOB at the 1 - much like he did years ago and guaranteed the win. I don’t blame Chubb - Hunt was a much bigger issue - but that was bad situational football for an offense that entire drive.
-
I will repeat that Chubb should of known better, but his TD run started at 2:02 - without a 1st down (sliding down inside the 2) the Browns couldn’t run out the clock. The Bonehead was Kareem Hunt - he cost the Browns the game. The Browns scored on a 42 yard drive that took just 35 seconds and was 6 plays, but the biggest issue is twice after getting 1st downs - Hunt ran OB before the 2 minute warning and both times he was well past the 1st down line and just needed to get down. 1st on 3rd and 6 with 2:15 left - Hunt catches an 11 yard swing pass and goes out of bound taking only 6 seconds and leaving the Jets 1 time out. Then after using a timeout on Hunts next run- Hunt breaks outside for 11 yards and goes out of bound with 2:02 left. That was egregious. That made it 1st down from the 12 and of course then Chubb scores. The only chance the Jets had was if Chubb scored and then he did them that favor. That was terrible coaching and more importantly terrible field awareness by 2 veteran players - and I hope that costs the Browns their season. Stupid team, Stupid coach, Stupid organization.
-
Not only that, but if you watch the DL - AJ goes upfield outside and the other DT and DE both were sliding to the right. I think it was a designed slide right - giving Edmunds the inside gap, but the DT got stoned by the guard and it opened a hole where the DT should of been. You would love to see Edmunds then forgo his gap and fill the opening, but that is not Tremaine - he does his 1/11th and is right where he should be because McD teaches do your responsibilities and allow others to do their responsibility. If Edmunds hits outside and the DT fights through - suddenly you leave a gap in the middle. Without benefit of knowing the call - I do not blame Edmunds and to go a step further - The DT got moved backwards into Edmunds and that limited his flow once he was sure his area was secure.

Is Christian Benford better than Wallace?
Rochesterfan replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
My take is if the Bills had resigned Wallace as many wanted - most likely Wallace and Jackson would have been starting. Benford (and Elam for that manner) are both way more gifted physically than Wallace and both can make plays Wallace simply couldn’t, but they also have a benefit of a pass rush in week 1 that was devastating and a team in week 2 that was limited at WR. I would most definitely take Benford and Elam (and Jackson) over Wallace - especially long term, but there will be games where they get tricked and Wallace would have done his job. To me Wallace is like Edmunds - he manages to do his job correctly almost 100% of the time, but that means many times he is not in the best place to make a huge play - he just make the steady correct play and move on to the next down. I think they wanted more at CB and therefore you have Elam and Benford locked and loaded - long term improvements in place. -
Shakir Should Not Be Inactive
Rochesterfan replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Overall - once again it shows McD and the coaching staff know and understand the team better than the fans. They recognized Game 1 in prime time is a tough spot to insert a rookie full time. They split time with the CBs, didn’t give Cook a go until the initial emotions settled and he still fumbled, made Shakir inactive - They recognized the difficulties. Shakir will be fine - he and Josh have almost no time together on the practice field and Josh is not a 3 step drop and throw to a spot QB - it takes time to understand how to read Josh and be on the same page. Nothing in game 1 discourages me - it is the start of a long path, but he was not ready and Moss - even with all of his faults - was ready and that is why he is dressed for now. -
I know - maybe if you lookin a mirror you will find out. It is pretty easy.
-
I don’t know about that, but the real issue is that twice prior to that Hunt went out of bounds including the play before with 2:02 left. If Chubb goes down the clock stops with 1:55 and it is 2nd down (unless he just slides at the 2, but either way the bigger issue was Hunt. Did anyone notice who the holder for the Browns is? Good old Bojo holding on a missed XP - coincidence? Hmm.
-
I said he should of just slide in bounds. Earlier on the drive - twice Hunt went out of bounds on runs to the sideline. Bad coaching and worse execution.

Another Gem from Einstein. Love that any troll can just post whatever garbage flows through the tiny brain. 🤦♂️🤦♂️

My god this is just terrible. Dane was tackling a bigger receiver and Edmunds was rallying to the ball. Burks dropped as he saw Edmunds coming causing Edmunds to go over the top. If Edmunds doesn’t rally and Burks breaks away people complain that why didn’t he make the play. Friendly fire happens all the time - Diggs does that same thing where he just drops and the coming defender hits another defensive player that is on top. Edmunds was never going to get penalized for that play and it is not done to get Stats - it is done as part of team tackling - everyone get there and take these guys to the ground. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
-
Yeah and only on TBD can you find “fans” that complain about how a guy is slow, lacks instincts, can’t make plays, doesn’t tackle, etc. and then also complain when said player comes up to hit a guy and make sure he is down and when that guy ducks accidentally hits his own player. That happens all the time and it especially happens to players flying around making plays including some HOF level players. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
-
So you think Matt is making it up? What is the point of this comment? Who are the 2 Friendly Fire? Dane was obviously. Poyer got hurt making a solo tackle - hit his head on thigh. Phillips got hurt in the open field running all alone looking to make a block. Milano got a stinger destroying the QB 1 on 1. Who am I missing?
-
Not according to the OP. I believe the quote was we have not drafted anywhere near enough high impact players. LOL
-
Agreed - Question Beane with what these guys have drafted and retained. 🤦♂️

It pisses you off, but you still watch it - along with tons of other fans and because it is so popular and because people flock to it to see continuous action - you get this experiment. The Monday night games have been bad for a number of years and the NFL and ESPN are trying to find ways to keep more people involved and if it takes 2 mostly simultaneous games to ensure there is action for fans that are not invested - then this makes perfect sense. if no one watched Red Zone and Mixed NFL channels - then this would not be an option, but they seem not only to be popular, but growing in popularity with betting and fantasy football and to me this is a brilliant attempt that I think will get more play going forward to get more football overlap.
-
It isn’t- they want the overlap to test out the RedZone style format that is highly popular. This is not some random ill thought out idea - this is the NFL and ESPN looking to the future and ways to give them more and better games for the money. It also is a way to ensure eyes on TVs to increase revenue dollars and ensure - even if one game is a blow-out - they have available action to keep viewers. If will continue to grow and expand, but there is 100% noting wrong with this. Much like Amazon Prime - it is an attempt to engage fans with the things they like and see how that can make a more monetary experience for the NFL while keeping fans engaged.

1st - I like that crew way better than Aikman and Buck - who I think are just terrible. They were bad on Fox and terrible as the only pair. I wish we had the Manning cast as that is at least entertaining. I have no issues with what they are doing - they are catering to the majority of fans to bring more viewers in. Good for the NFL and Good for ESPN. I personally will watch the single channel game and don’t want split screen, but considering the number of RedZone and NFL mix channels available- this format makes so much sense for the modern fan and ensures eyes on TVs a lot longer as there is not just 1 potential blow-out game where most of the nation shuts the TV by 9pm eastern.
-
I understand what you are saying, but the truth remains many, many, many fans watch things like the Red Zone channel - TV flipping between games where the action is rather than you deciding what to watch they decide. In addition things like the Sunday Ticket offer several mixed channels where they might be 2,3 or even 8 different games on at the same time and you can choose which broadcast to listen too. I know it seems crazy, but I think ESPN actually got this right. They want more diversity of games to help ensure there is action going on to prevent loss of viewership. They also want the ability to collect NFL AD fees at a better time to maximize their profit. I have no issue with what ESPN is doing - I will switch to ESPN2 for the Bills only version - just like watching a single game on DirectTV, but I wish this was more permanent because there are many weeks where I would prefer a split screen over Dallas/Philadelphia or Seattle/Denver games.

On the I-Pad - when I selected the game - instead of hitting the watch button - you scroll down like you want to see other episodes of a show or “similar” shows and there were 4 broadcast options. - National Feed - National Feed - Spanish Audio - Prime Vision - National Feed - Dude Perfect Simulcast The Prime Vision was absolutely awesome - I thought. You got a bit more of an All-22 look, They had names of either the offense or defensive game changers. They used motion to show certain routes and runs with the lines right on the field - just like when you are watching highlights. It was very busy, but on the side you had a tracker with relevant things like win probability (needed to update faster), 4th down Go versus punt or go versus FG graphics, limited stats, who the team has looked for on 3rd down, etc. They also ran a “tracker” along the bottom with quips, stats, funny tweets, relevant things going on, just tons of info. I thought it was fantastic - although some of the data on the sides and ticker was not updated fast enough for the next situation- for a first broadcast- they did great. I loved how live they had the data from the players sensors seamlessly embedded into the live video. I could of done without the Dude Perfect simulcast as they are no Mannings, but it was a similar idea - people talking about everything as the game is on-going. Just no where near as good or relevant.
-
They also lost their Center - Linsley - in the first half. I watched the game on our Firestick and then moved to an I-pad and thought the picture and sound were fine. I did have one small hiccup where the load rate dropped, but I have the same issue with Prime when I watch movies and with the NFL app when I stream a game. Typically a closing of the app and a reload fixes everything.

It is part of the reason people think PFFsucks. Lamar was not good against the Jets. Tannehill was alright against a weak Giants defense. Mahomes was brilliant against a previous playoff team - not a top 5 team. I love Josh, but even if you take away one pick - he still had another that was not great, Mahomes just completed everything with 5 TDs and no picks - sure seems like they should be closer. 🤦♂️ Add to that Burrow being out all preseason with appendicitis- not even able to practice and you have a recipe for what happened Sunday. I think they will get better as Burrow gets more comfortable, but I don’t think that is the upgrade at OL that the media envisioned during the off-season.

Terrible take. This was an absolutely terrible trade when it happened. Jamal Adams - a box safety - for even 1 1st round pick is a fleecing, but Seattle gave up 2 and extra picks. Terrible. In retrospect- the trade has only gotten worse as Seattle has watched Adams not live up to the hype, repeatedly get injured, and then way overpayed for a guy that can no longer cover and makes no plays. There is nothing Seattle can say or do to make this look better - they made one of the worst trades ever and then have watched as it gets worse and worse each year.
