  1. He presented himself as attending to his children in his vehicle, turned his back and was shot 7 times. Did he resist the arrest? Yes. Is that an opportunity for a police officer to use physical force? Yes. Could they have defused the situation by having two of the officers maintain their position with the suspect in their gun sights and have the third restrain him physically and put him in cuffs? Yes.Did he deserve to be shot seven times? Any person who cares about human rights says no. If you’re not one of those, good luck to you and your future encounters with the police force. Just like citizens, the police force must be held accountable. This cannot be in question. No one is above the law and shooting an unarmed man in the back seven times sure isn’t within the law. edit: If police forces want to have respect in the community, most specifically the black and liberal left community, they better stop creating martyrs
  2. One of those electric ones?
  3. I was considering making up stuff just to make this thread more exciting as well.
  4. Honestly? You’re so out of touch. Make America Great? Make it more like Canada. You are the breathing stereotype of the people that the vast majority of Canadians think of when the word “American” is spoken. Your superiority complex is so misplaced. You are a divided land, much of it due to a misguided trust and belief in one of your two political parties. By all evidence, there is no grey area for a right wing, Republican. Consider an alternate point of view? Find common ground? Nah. Too busy being self righteous.
  5. Please go away with this topic. Mods, where are you?
  6. C’mon guys. I’m just as mad about that situation is any of you, but we need to separate what happens on the stadium wall from what happens in PPP. If you want to go in and discuss this topic, that’s the place to do it. I understand that this issue has integrated into all aspects of our lives, but it’s part of why we may need this release in the form of sport today. I have discussed this in PPP, and I’m happy to continue to do so as long as it is kept over there.
  7. I was thinking the exact same thing. Scrimmage is the highest risk form of practice. Why risk the health of the guy who has been destroying practice day in, day out? He’ll be ready. Just started. Not much to report yet.
  8. Bryan Colangelo...or his wife at least....
  9. Yeah, I overestimated that one…
  10. 4 years/$82million if I had to hazard a guess
  11. I think the statistics and evidence are in place to indicate that there is a problem in America, and in my country too, in which visible minorities are dying at the hands of the police force at a rate much greater than Caucasians. The gentleman in question was shot in the back 7 times in front of his kids. 7 times is absolute overkill and denying that is ridiculous. So, my “predetermined narrative” does seem to have some substance behind it. I understand that I have dropped into the world of the right wing, anti-BLM folk here on PPP. I should probably just go back to my liberal and generally friendlier group on the stadium wall and avoid this place. Sorry for interrupting. Continue on with your banter. Q will drop some knowledge for you later, so be sure to prepare.
  12. And what if he was unarmed and had just broken up a domestic disturbance which has been reported as well? Would that change YOUR opinion?
  13. Why don’t you watch the video and see that he didn’t have a knife? Do we all just see and hear what we want to hear and see? Fox News would like it if you did. Do we think that being shot in the back seven times is sufficient when carrying a knife and walking away from police officers? i’m not going to sit here and tell you that looting and rioting is the answer, because it’s not. However, the number of police killings of black men and women this year alone has got to create uproar in the black community. You cannot imagine how much fear you would live in unless you walk in their shoes. Despite the number of marches, protests and riots that have occurred the last three months, these cops continue to make life ending, and altering, decisions that cannot be solely attributed to the actions of the individuals being killed and seriously injured. There is either a fear or a complete lack of respect for black people among a far too sizeable portion of the police force. That has to stop.
  14. Diggs. Love Smoke And Beas, but Diggs is in a very elite club of WR’s. If he stays 4 seasons, I see no reason why he wouldn’t get 350 receptions or more. Betting on Knox or Davis right now is extremely challenging.
  15. I was thinking Trey Adams would be that guy ( I know, not a WR) from a team perspective. Not sure it’s going to happen though.
  16. Solid athlete who was probably overdrafted, but had a very nice season statistically in 2018. I recall him going to KC last year, but he didn’t work out there it seems.
  17. Bad sign. The Saints starting LB’s are decent ( Kiko....I guess qualifies as such), but a vet presence with a solid resume and a recent SB win Should have been able to crack that roster. Maybe he hasn’t healed up or maybe he’s just logged too many miles....
  18. There is no possible way to run the type of schedule that the NBA has in the NFL. They could, possibly, do four hub cities and play the games through those on Saturdays Sundays Mondays and Thursdays, but it wouldn’t be anywhere near as much of a bubble as the NBA has created.
  19. I think that I should clarify. I am aware of his feelings towards the Seahawks management team and also feel that he was extending his middle finger to them and not to the fans whatsoever. However, it comes down to optics and those were bad optics. Although a lot of people around the country believe that Seahawks fans are not a strong fan base, or are bandwagon, a lot of my friends who are hawks fans here in the Pacific Northwest were definitely not elated with his actions. The team has a very strong Fanbase and, in my experience, Is largely quite a knowledgable group. They understood why he did what he did, but they did not understand why he would do it in the way that he did and it showed poorly on his character, despite what he had shown publicly to that point.
  20. Although I am a definite mask wearer and am, if anything, overly cautious in regards to my proximity to others at this time, I think there will be a way to get fans in the seats. It’s gonna be hard and it’s going to really test security measures, but I think they could definitely do some thing with about 20,000 people in a 60,000 seat stadium. The fear that we can all have is what happens when something goes wrong and people stop listening to the measures in place. If there is a giant outbreak out of a football game, it shuts down the opportunity for further attendance and has implications away from the game. That is, more than likely, the fear the NFL and its owners harbour. The press and optics behind that are very undesirable.
  21. To be quite honest, yes. Or rather, it would not surprise me if he did take a bad turn. And, as I stated, does it surprise anybody when somebody with the transgressions that have occurred in their past has an additional transgression? No, it is not a surprise. Earl Thomas also had one heck of an off-season where he was caught naked in bed with his brother and a female . I think we can all agree that’s a bit messed up.
  22. So what you’re saying is that he stuck his middle finger up towards John Schneider and Pete Carroll and the rest of the management team without any fans in attendance? No, that’s not what he did. He stuck his middle finger up directly at the stands when it happened. I’ve seen the video. I know what happened. I also live in the Pacific Northwest and know what that represented to fans. The players who are not willing to live up to the contract which they signed, need to reevaluate their standing. The guy is a major league prima donna. I get tired of guys making millions of dollars playing sports not agreeing to the contracts that they signed themselves. This wasn’t the decision of the management. It was a decision of the player. The management agreed to the contract, the player agreed to the contract and the management honored that contract while the player determined that the contract did not warrant him going to work. In what world is it right for the employee to agree to a contract in the millions of dollars, decide not to show up to work and then get mad at the management about that?
  23. Sorry to have offended your sensitive sensibilities by saying the word “friend”. I guess that, by the tone of your response, you don’t get called that much? Regardless, as someone who follows not just the NFL, but the Seahawks, intensely, I am well aware of what the Fanbase saw and how it was taken. That was a giant middle finger to a bunch of people who are very loyal to that player and it was seen as very offensive by the Seattle Seahawks 12th Man
  24. Appearances my friend. It was done as he was carted off the field and he may have directed it towards management, but there were about 10,000 fans in that direction.
