  1. We lost this most recent game because we refuse to give up on the run when it clearly was not happening with a 7 man box or whatever. Whether or not we should run or pass, or how 'balanced' our attack should be should not be something that is pre-determined at the start of the season. It should change game to game based on what the opponent is putting on the field to stop you. Take what they give you. If it's passing, you take it, if it's running you take it. That is what I want. A dynamic and adaptable offense that can beat you 10 different ways. Seems like what we have is the 'predetermined' we are going to do XYZ this season and not the game-to-game adjustments that tend to keep defense coordinators off balance.
  2. THIS!!!!! They blitzed josh a LOT in this game this would have been the game to be passing and carving it up even taking those deep shots josh loves so much. Instead they played them like they were in a 2 high shell all game, until late in the game anyways. This is on the OC man he has to recognize what the other team is doing and make the adjustments especially in the 3rd Q
  3. Agree with the OP. Is this not what we have all been collectively bitching and whining about the melt-down style hero ball? Josh has shelved it. If we're gonna lose, it's not gonna be his fault. I don't blame the kid, it's what the coaches and media have been clamoring for. Just goes to show you that playing it safe doesn't always lead to Ws, either. It was close to working out though, if defense could have mustered a stop on that last drive but the dagger to ridley with hyde in coverage was basically the end of the game. Even bills fans have to admit that was an absolute dime from Trevor Lawrence on that ball -- pressure was coming, hyde was 1 on 1, I am pretty sure trevor was about to get hit as he threw. It's a game of inches sometimes.
  4. I never like the tale of the tape for Ref calls... just saying jags had 8 for 56 and 10 for 80 (Removing one of the bills flags was DPI for 40 yards) make it seem like overall it wasn't that out of wack, however its WHEN the calls get made that has the most impact. At least THREE times the Jags drives were saved/extended by a wild 3rd and long penalty where our defense had held them. I mean I am pretty sure at least 2 of those drives ended in points for the jags, one a touchdown. They ALWAYs get calls though and even more this season.... doesn't seem like there are too many games where I feel like the bills are getting a great benefit from officiating yet there are numerous games where it seems to affect outcomes positively for KC.
  5. but they said on teh radio its the same day Jaxsonville flew over for their win against the falcons the previous week. I think they eluded to basically all the teams that fly over to london are doing that Seems like KC gets a lot of ref calls going their way for whatever reason. I know teams struggle on offense from time to time, is normal in the NFL -- but we have these wildly incosistent swings where it's top gun status or bust and it seems like we have the most 'extreme swings' of any team.
  6. It's not great probably to fall in love with certain schemes and over-force them, but you at least have to be willing to adjust when the game plan you brought in to work with is not getting it done in an entire half of football.
  7. Our offense has to prove they can be good consistently and for the past 3 years they haven't been. It's up and down it's whiplash it's kind of crazy. Like some kind of roller coaster.
  8. I don't like making excuses. Everyone knows jags had an advantage and it sucks this counted as a home game for us. At the end of the day, our team has shown inconsistency on offense for the past 3 seasons (2020, 2021, and 2022). Until we figure it out we are going to continue to drop a certain # of games per year and when it happens in the playoffs it leads to our demise. The only year where we have seen a streak of consistent offensive performance overt he second half of the season was the infamous 13 seconds debacle. Even in that season, our offense struggled up and down in the first half of the year and really only started clicking in the last 5-6 games of regular season which extended into the playoffs. I would call it our most consistent streak on offense. I am not sure why our offense seems to sputter randomly against certain teams. Who is to blame for that consistency issue? Is bad when you drop 48 but then can't muster 20 I am getting whiplash over here. Are we good or are we not? Seems week-to-week at the moment.
  9. I mean saying you wouldn't lose a player xyz or whatever is really just speculation
  10. I dunno my dad is almost 70 and he hates every time we run the ball. I feel like I have to remind him the balanced attack seems to be working better after all. lol
  11. I think it's both, dorsey needs to coach and josh needs to keep taking what they are giving him. It seems to be working and I hope they (both) keep it up!
  12. the big question is what has happened to daboll's new york giants?!
  13. I think russel wilson only plays well in one specific system and obviously denver isn't giving him what he needs lol
  14. Hey guys just think he accomplished this WITHOUT Dalton Kincaid blocking very well.
  15. the f#$k? Yeah exactly this is "The way."
  16. The thing is josh always does josh s#$! and it honestly wasn't any different vs LVR. It's just that when josh did josh stuff it worked out. There were at least a few head scratchers in the LVR game. I mean the touch down pass to davis into triple coverage could have easily been an interception, but it wasn't. There was the bad decision to chuck it up while being hit that resulted in an actual interception but sort of "Saved by the bell" moment as there was a defensive hold called on the play. Again, 2-3 plays in a game can make all the difference. In the case vs LVR, they went josh allen's way (as they tend to do). Against the jets, they did not go allens way and to top it off had the bone-headed miss snapped/bobble/fumble scenario that sealed the deal. Still, even in that game, josh led a tying drive with under 2 minutes left and you can hardly blame him for the opening sequence of overtime or the resulting special teams blunder on the punt return for TD (or the missed ref call on the play for the leg whip). Fact is allen's completion % was pretty awesome vs jets and had a solid first half, he didn't have many bad throws but the 3 that resulted in interceptions and the final fumble that sealed the deal was enough to lose the game. You can be 25/28 passing but if the 3 are interceptions that take points away or give points to the other team you're in trouble.
  17. I think we can mark this thread 'safe to let die'.
  18. The problem is with human beings, George Carlin said it best. Individually we're fine, but when we get in large groups we are very base.
