  1. His contract was up. The Bills got good results for the $$$ and wisely decided not to give him a new, more expensive contract. Easy to understand imo. He scored a lot of touchdowns for a guy with limited skills, perfect time to move on and upgrade. I doubt he ever scores tds at that rate again. The Bills score a lot of touchdowns by the way. I think they will find others who can catch them.
  2. Gabe Davis was 128 out of 153 wrs in the ESPN Analytics 'open' metric last season. That's why he disappears for so long ....... https://espnanalytics.com/rtm/ He was also 112th of 153 in the overall rank He can be upgraded
  3. Chiefs' Creed Humphrey, who the Bills passed on in the 2nd for Basham, has started and played at a very high level from day 1.
  4. I was shocked when they got Byram. He was the 4th pick of the 2019 draft...Sabres have him under contract through next season. I think he is gonna be really good.
  5. For whatever its worth: PFF says he was 12th out of 46 qualified (300+ run snaps) LBs vs the run.... and he was slightly better than Bernard in coverage, just behind (ex Bill) Terrell Edmunds
  6. I was also shocked and disgusted when the Bills moved up and took Watkins instead of Mack. He's still got it evidently...18 sacks 6 forced fumbles, ranked 6th out of 112 d edge last season If Mack had grown up in Buffalo instead of Florida.....but his only connection to the city is UB and the Bills are an NFL team that passed on him when they had the chance. Does he even want to come to Buffalo? I've heard the 9ers want him.. I could see that happening
  7. How much will Ridley get?
  8. I fully agree with that, but I'm puzzled by your reply. I thought I was commenting on a list of NFC QBs better than Mayfield. The other guys listed also make more than $50 million guaranteed. ????
  9. Could have gotten a much better player for that money imo. Another 'let's stick with the below average guy we know' instead of getting better. Too many of these middling contracts go to below average players and it adds up to less money for elite talent....this is not in any way a win for the Bills. Why they needed to lock him up before free agency starts is beyond my understanding. Mark my words, much better safeties will play next season for equal or less money.
  10. He was terrible last year........let's pay him starter money and consider one safety position filled? Wtf
  11. I'd definitely take Goff over Mayfield...Cousins too if he ends up back in the NFC
  12. Regardless of why he did it, I'm glad they got that done.......I hated the contract when he signed it, I thought it was a big mistake, but that's history. Going into next season would you rather use up $20+ million in cap for absolutely nothing at all or find out if he can still play for $9 mil.? Von could have made more cash than that getting cut. 🤔 I don't see how this is not a win for the Bills.
  13. To those saying Beane had leverage in demanding a pay cut, I'm pretty sure Von was guaranteed $10.9 million dollars this coming season. He could have collected that money for doing absolutely nothing if the Bills had released him. He could have just trained and waited for a contender to sign him in the latter part of the season. 10.9 million plus whatever else he could get for playing part of a season, no mini camps, training camps, etc. He didn't have to do this, he had lots of options; one of them being collect $10.9 million for staying home and doing nothing. I don't have high expectations but I also won't be surprised if he can come back and be effective as a pass rush specialist this season. I'd rather the Bills get to find out as opposed to just eating $20+ million in dead cap.
  14. Just not real confident he will be a good starting center. If that's their plan, I hope I'm wrong.
  15. Von taking a pay cut and loading his contract with incentives instead of guaranteed money is an incredible development. He was already guaranteed the money and didn't have to take a pay cut. The fact that he did and loaded his contract with incentives instead tells me that he plans on being really good again.
  16. I don't think McGovern was very good at guard. I hope they are not already determined to make him the starting center, he may not be good enough. Obviously there is a lot of time, draft, free agency, etc. until next season, hoping they have a plan where McGovern is a backup.
  17. I forgot he was even on the staff. His cousin Dave Shula (not his coach brother Dave) was a good friend and housemate for a couple years in Park City UT in the mid 80s. Great guy I've lost track of over the years....
  18. The only liqueur with a color named after it. Made by Carthusian monks in Chartreuse mtns. France. Originally created as a longevity tonic it is an extract formula of 130 alpine herbs, first made in the 17th century (1605). The formula has remained a well guarded secret for centuries. I used to keep a bottle around for a night cap.
  19. On PFF, Morse was rated 20th out of 36 qualified centers last season and has been slipping every season. He is near the end of his career and needs to be replaced soon. I know that many think PFF is garbage and I take their ratings with some skepticism myself; but on the other hand all 32 NFL teams (including the Bills) pay for their professional services.
  20. Sure, it's complex with a lot of moving parts, but no one is expected to get everything right. There are 31 other guys with the same complex job and you're trying to be better than them. Spending too much draft and cap capital on the dline with limited success; and taking too long to get a decent offensive line, while needing another top wr, have been his biggest shortcomings imo. Whether that's on him, McD or both?
  21. Grateful Dead Tour 💃 ⛷️Being a ski bum and living outside in Telluride and Park City before all the $$$$$ took over the towns. Hitchhiking
  22. 3 pts regulation win 2 pts OT or shootout (SO) win 1 pt to OT or SO loser It makes sense on so many levels. Each game having the same total points awarded being chief among them. Beyond that it fixes the incentive teams have in the late 3rd of a tie game. Would fans rather watch teams battle for a 3 point win or try to hang on for a guaranteed point? Teams should be incentivized to play for the 3 pt. win in regulation. Not to play for the guaranteed pt. of a tie. This is a huge mistake by the NHL that should be fixed after this season. If they don't like the 3 point win they should do away with the 1 pt. ties altogether. Using the shootout there are no more ties anyway.
  23. I'm not hell bent on them taking a particular guy or position in the first, but trading up for another crack at drafting a good de is just a terrible idea imo. How much draft and cap capital has he spent the last 4 seasons on this one position with what results? From the very start I said to build a great offensive line and give Allen elite weapons. Outscoring everyone should be the goal, not trying to stop a particular individual or team. Also, no matter how good the defense is they aren't used properly in critical moments anyway. It doesn't matter how many great players you have when you line up 8 yards back on 3rd and 3.
