  1. DL Chris Jones has a $27 million cap hit for KC He's a great player but ...$27 mil? I'm still disgusted the Bills passed on KCs franchise C, rated #1 C in the entire league in his rookie year, for a backup DE last draft. Beane said he took bpa (wrong) because they had no needs. Who needs an interior offensive line? Morse was rated 25th last season. I really need to let that go I guess.😜
  2. You mean what are they gonna get for him in a year? Paying Diggs 25+ million would be a big mistake imo. I think the Bills should be looking for his replacement in the draft this year. I'm sure that's not popular but the reality of paying a QB 40+ is that you cannot overpay anyone. Josh will make any receiver better and he can turn athletically talented young receivers into stars. Diggs and Hill were both 5th round picks so the next stars are out there, gotta find them. No more wasting money on guys like Star and Butler soaking up big chunks of cap % to completely suck. No paying big contracts based on potential to players who don't produce, goodbye Edmunds. The Bills have a superstar QB about to enter a huge 2nd contract, everything has to adjust and become more efficient. Need to find value at other positions.
  3. Hill and Diggs were both 5th round picks. Gotta keep finding talent in the draft, you can't afford to keep everybody without hurting the overall team. ~25 million for a wr along with the highest paid QB is hard to squeeze in, especially when you have a DL Chris Jones getting 27 mil. cap hit this coming season.
  4. I agree and I actually think they did get the D line right this time. I fully expect them to be a dominant force this season and the pass rush will make a huge leap. More pressure up the middle and Von Miller on the outside will be a lethal combination. The o line and cb depth are the only weaknesses I see now. If Allen had a better run game and pass pro the offense would be virtually unstoppable.
  5. I've always liked Crowder since he's been in the league. I hope he busts out with the Bills, having a great QB throwing it to him. He's another guy(Duke) who ran a really disappointing 40 at the combine(4.56) and then ran significantly faster (4.46 official with an unofficial 4.39 on one of his Pro Day runs). A former 3rd round pick, the talent is there and it's now his time and place to break out.
  6. Butler was ranked 110th out of 110 on PFF. He was the worst DL in the entire league. That's about the same as the year before. He made 2mil per on his first contract with Carolina. The Bills gave him 15 million dollars, 7.5 mil per, to be the worst DL in the league for 2 years. Star is still eating up 7 mil in cap this season and he's not even on the team. The Bills have completely wasted millions and millions of cap dollars on just those 2 ex Panthers. Meanwhile the offensive line continues to be in the bottom half of the league every single year, getting by on castoffs and scraps from the other teams. The starting right tackle was a rookie who was rated 71st out of 83 qualified tackles last season and a lot of people think he was good. They did make a big move this off-season signing a 34 old guard on the decline. Who needs an offensive line when you have Superman at QB? Right? Josh can be the short yardage guy again too because you can't hand off on 3rd and 1 when there are 2 or 3 guys in the backfield at the snap. As long as the Bills score points and Allen plays Superman the oline is not an issue. The Rams just won the SB with Stafford at QB behind the 7th ranked line, the Bills were 18th. The worst one of the Rams starting 5 was better than every Bill but Dawkins. Rams had 3 rated over 80. Bills had 0 and only 1 over 70. Can you even imagine how much better than Stafford Allen would be behind that line? Sadly it looks like we may never know, but one of these years they'll get that DLine right and stop the run. When they finally do we will all see just how amazing the 61st of 87 rated All Pro MLB really is. Just keep stocking up on overpaid dl, they're bound to find some good ones eventually. P.S. As frustrating as the o line situation has been I think Beane has done a mostly excellent job and I'm really psyched that the Bills are contenders again. The obsession with the DL and neglect of the OL are my only complaints. Without Allen the Bills offense would produce very little behind that line.
  7. He actually had a good year last season and can play all facets of the position. Be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.
  8. Johnson was drafted in the 3rd round (77th pick) while Mckissic went undrafted a year later. Scouts definitely felt Johnson had much greater potential. I definitely think the Bills got the better player who is more versatile, faster while being 15 lbs heavier, has a better resume', and will cost less. He's also a month younger. I like this pickup.
  9. Glad Mariota is getting another shot. I met him years ago on U of O campus, really nice guy. I have a good feeling he's gonna make the most of this. I think it's a great move for Atlanta as far as risk/reward and I look forward to seeing him play.
  10. For their similar length careers, Duke Johnson has a 20% higher yds/trgt, 20% more of his targets result in first downs, has a higher yards after catch/rec and a higher QB rating when targeted. What is McKissic supposedly better at? P.S. They both ran slow 4.59 at the combine. Johnson was disgusted and knew he was faster than that, ran 4.47 at his pro day.
  11. That's not necessarily true imo, I think with a serviceable backup this team could still beat more than half the teams in the league. If Allen went down for a few games they should still be able to win against lesser teams. The backup QB could be really important keeping the team in contention in that case. Keenum isn't at all exciting but should be a decent game manager backup if needed and a calm veteran presence on the sideline. Never seen that before but it sounds like he can buy out of his contract. Does Cle keep the 7th rounder if that happens? Weird.
  12. I didn't imply anything about those stats, they are what they are. The Bills defense couldn't stop them. Mahomes' offense scored their 2nd most points all season in that game so the 'he does that to everybody' does not apply either. It's not all on Jackson and he filled in okay I guess, he just wasn't as good as they're gonna need at cb2. Jackson was rated 82nd of 117 qualifying cbs on PFF for his full seasons work. Even if you think PFF is a joke look at their top 10 and bottom 10 and tell me they're not really good and really bad. Myself, I'm hoping the Bills have someone much better than Dane Jackson at CB2 next season. Jackson is depth and still developing imo.
  13. What game were you watching? Mahomes completed 75% of his passes for 378 yards and a 124 QB rating. 30 first downs and a 10 minute advantage in time of possession, 550 yards and 42 points. Josh Allen was the only reason they got so close and it most certainly had nothing to do with Dane Jackson's level of play. It would be stupid for the Bills to think that is good enough for CB2 imo.
  14. The Bills aren't getting to the SB with Dane Jackson as their CB2 imo. Cornerbacks are far more important than having 4 guys play 1 tech DL
  15. Here's PFFs assessment of Miller last season. Von Miller ED #00 Buffalo Bills SHOW BIO 2021 Season Grades DEFENSE GRADE 91.2 3rd / 107 ED RUN DEFENSE GRADE 88.2 2nd / 118 ED PASS RUSH GRADE 88.1 8th / 104 ED COVERAGE GRADE 90.9 1st / 24 ED Still right at the top in all facets according to whoever they are.
  16. Agreed I've no idea how fast he is now. I think he definitely improves the te group and possibly by a lot. We 'll see, I have a good feeling this works out really well.
  17. They said he was the most complete tight end prospect in a decade when he was drafted at #18. Hasn't shown it yet, but just maybe Buffalo and Josh Allen will be the key to unlocking all that talent. 250lbs and faster than Singletary, Moss, Davis,(much faster than McKissic😂) and almost as fast as Beasley. He and Knox down the middle will be matchup nightmares and keep safeties occupied.
  18. Dodged a bullet there😅 Dude was so slow and only broke one tackle all year long 4.59 at 185 lbs, Bills have multiple 250lb guys faster than that😛
  19. Comp picks should be 5th round at the earliest imo, extra 3rd round picks are far too valuable.
  20. Nothing against Mckissic but his volume was merely a result of their bad offense. He caught a ton of passes at the line of scrimmage because of their lame quarterbacking. It's not like he was out running great routes. To his credit he did a good job with those opportunities.
  21. Agree. A guy who avgd 8 yards after the catch is definitely a weapon. I could have phrased it better but I was referring to his less than dangerous speed. I'm glad they got him, Singletary's receiving was improved but a solid pass catching back is good to have.
  22. Undrafted out of college, elusive but slow for his size (4.59 40). He was mostly used as a checkdown dumpoff at the line of scrimmage. This past season his average depth of target was .4 yards, basically at the line. He was good with the ball in his hands, averaging over 8 yds after the catch. A good steady role player, but definitely not a dangerous weapon.
