  1. Kerryon Johnson has been out for the past three weeks with an MCL sprain - he's probably their best skill player so him playing will make a big difference in their output
  2. Eh, I support the decision. He hit on Carr, Mack, and Cooper, but the rest of his draft picks (early and late) were major whiffs - DJ Hayden, Mario Edwards, Menelik Watson, and a few other guys I'm not too familiar with are some of his 1st and 2nd round picks. The Dennis Allen and Jack Del Rio hirings were bad, too. Mack and Cooper on this Raiders team would definitely give the team a couple more wins, but not many, so they were better off trading them. They definitely need to hit on these picks, but a the very least they have lots of them to use and Gruden will get a front office that pulls the rope in the same direction as him. That said, I definitely expect the media and general fanbases to say how he got shafted, but I don't see it.
  3. Castillo was McDermott's first hire, even before he went around looking for the scraps available as OC. His buddy (that laughingly replaced him as DC in Philly for one year) isn't going anywhere.
  4. I'd prefer 15 minutes as opposed to 10 since the receiving team definitely milks the clock and takes the thrill factor out of it; otherwise, I'm okay with it
  5. There are lots of good points here, but I can't really agree with the premise: all of us were pissed at how management handled the QB position midway through this season. Beane flat out admitted bringing in Derek 'mentor' Anderson so late was a mistake, so credit to him for saying that he was overthinking that keeping a third QB wouldn't have been worth the roster spot. Also, I do like the quote you brought up in regards to Peyton, but he and Josh obviously have completely different circumstances and skills upon being drafted. That said, I do have enough faith in Daboll to stay for this next season as we improve with the additions on this side of the ball. I was really excited watching Tyrod play his first year with us, but after he plateau-ed not so much. Josh definitely has single-handedly reinvigorated my excitement in this team, and winning last week would have been great on his career highlight reel and for keeping us in the hunt this year, but I'm not really even mad because aside from the NE game every single one of our matchups are most definitely winnable, especially at home.
  6. Pre draft, and especially right after week 1, the answer is obvious. Nowadays, a complete 180 and I couldn't be happier to be wrong.
  7. Now for Walt Coleman and the NFL to come to a "mutual agreement to part ways"...or retirement
  8. Beane insisted Shady wasn't going to be traded and will be a part of this team's plans for 2019, and I have no reason not to believe him. I thought he and the team would be better off if we traded him before the deadline, but here we are. If there's a trade offer we can't refuse, pull the trigger by all means, but if not, actually try to get some OL that can run block and spend a mid round draft pick on a potential replacement.
  9. He reminds me of Roethlisberger Not Josh, but daddy on the right
  10. It's gotten clunkier over the years and I'm not a fan of Chris or Murph's fluff pieces. I'm cool with Sean being all business all the time but it makes for pressers not worth watching. Usually 26CB's posts provide more than enough clips and info.
  11. I was at the event yesterday; it was mostly as advertised - got to briefly talk to Josh and Dion and get a picture with them The food wasn't a buffet - it was just one plate, pretty good pulled pork and pasta salad. One drink per person. For pushing it back twice, they said that every guest would get one piece of autographed memorabilia, but that was nowhere to be found. You paid up front in advance, and you take whatever they choose to give you.. They mentioned other autographs would not be given, but some little kids were able to get away with it. I was standing with sharpie in hand and ready for Allen just to take a split second and sign my jersey of his, but the guy in charge was being an ass and kept stressing no autographs would be given, though Josh didn't really seem to care and gave some away anyways. It left a sour taste in my mouth as I left, but so be it. As for the event itself, the host got to ask the majority of the questions, and a few other people (about 6-10) were picked from the audience to ask some questions as well, and that was about 30 minutes. I was hoping to ask Josh about AJ versus Derek as a mentor and Dion about his willigness to play another position on OL if it'd be needed in a coming year, but alas, I could not.
  12. Buffalorush He was talking about how he kept it a secret from his wife, but he honestly came off as an emotional teenager being full of LAMPs like you said
  13. During the bye, Dion posted a social media clip saying that it will definitely be happening this time around. I paid for a ticket and have been eager to go as well, but no luck contacting anyone either. Assuming this comes to fruition tomorrow, I can try and talk to the people that seem to be in charge of the event on your behalf? I wouldn't mind
  14. IIRC we flat out offered him the job during the disastrous 2009 search, only for him to decline and take the SF job the following year
  15. I don't have the cash for a parking spot but would be happy to come by the area and bring some brews
  16. Ehh..During his introductory presser he used the famous "I'm one of you guys" line since he's from the Bronx. Super "dynamic" hire, Russ. Lots of "forward thinking."
  17. We all but drove him out of town - in the form of McDermott's wants in a MLB and the ever-so-lovely presence of Bills fans towards subpar players on social media
