  1. I would personally love to see that Also, welcome to the board!
  2. That's a sick hat he's got; I'd like to have heard Palmer say more about the details of what he's working on, but it seemed Chris quickly cut him off to talk about John Brown?
  3. That's possible, but it could also work - (responsibly) spending big money in FA is the way to go when you have faith in your QB that's on a rookie contract. We can all probably agree Darnold > Tannehill as well. Gase took the Dolphins to the playoffs in his first year, stayed afloat with Cutler year 2, and then the wheels fell off the roster year 3, so I don't think coaching was the issue - personality aside. He and Gregg Williams do make me nervous that they can get the job done.
  4. Per Rapoport It's good to be a safety or linebacker nowadays... Kwon surpassing Keuchly at $13+M was more than enough, and now this is. Jets are definitely improved, but at one heck of a cost.
  5. Josh comes off as the type of guy that may be willing to do a team-friendly deal with us IMO. He wanted to get to camp and didn't care about offset language like Darnold. He regularly mentions how he idolizes Brady, and everyone is aware of his team-oriented mindset and how he didn't sign for lucrative contracts (it helps being a trophy husband to Gisele). It's obvious Josh loves the area and wants to stay here if things work out, too. All this is a moot point for the next 3-4 years, though, but this crossed my mind and felt like sharing.
  6. That shouldn't and doesn't take away from how incredible of a coach he is
  7. Chiefs fans seem to have loved him and are warning us of his concussion history; like Kroft and KJ, this could pay big dividends if he stays on the field. Relieved by this signing big time!
  8. Sal's write up was a little uninspiring... Injuries, overpowered in terms of blocking, won't adjust to poor passes (which Josh needs to work on), etc. I think it's better than the Bengals choosing to resign Uzomah for almost the same amount with much less production when he started, but..my gut reaction means nothing, and I'll hope for the best.
  9. Even more money, or the chance to contend with Fletcher Coz, Brandon Graham, and Derek Barnett along your side? Easy choice.
  10. That was the game Bell had 200+ yards and Ben threw quite a few interceptions. All while watching the team flat out quit on Rex and put in some of the worst effort tackling you could ever see. Tl;dr don't watch
  11. With our top two RB's contracts running out, I fully expect us to draft a guy as early as round 3. I wouldn't expect WR to be our first pick unless it's a trade back and board value, because I fully believe Beane when he says he'll take the BPA.
  12. I'm as glad as anyone they passed on Edmunds, and it was dumb that he threw shade at the FO for drafting Karl Joseph which somehow prevented them from picking Derwin James. Miller was playing through lots of injuries - not an excuse, but things should only be able to go up.
  13. I can't entirely agree with this method of thinking. The Raiders had an easier schedule the year they had all those wins; it'd be one thing if they had sustained success like that for a couple of years, but it felt fluky more than anything in retrospect. Lots of McKenzie's draft picks have been whiffs, too. Yes, he struck gold in the WR-heavy-but-let's-give-up-a-first-for-Watkins draft when Mack fell into his lap and how he managed to get Derek Carr with the next pick, but otherwise lots of players taken in the top rounds over the years haven't amounted to much of anything (DJ Hayden, Menelik Watson, Mario Edwards, Karl Joseph, Jihad Ward, Obi, etc.) Plus, his two HC hires in Dennis Allen and Jack Del Rio were underwhelming. Some of Gruden's draft picks this year (Kolton Miller, Arden Key, Mo Hurst, Marcell Ateman) were strong contributors this first year, but all that is overshadowed when he decided that this roster wasn't good enough to contend with Mack and that rebuilding with draft picks was the way he wanted to go. The jury is still out on whether or not he and Mayock can right the ship, but the media is too busy hating on him anyways to focus on this being a process. If anything, McKenzie should have been dismissed with Del Rio if Mark Davis was determined to give Gruden full control from the get go.
  14. He talks about saving over $50M plus in cap, but there is a minimum amount of cash that needs to be spent to begin with... Moving on from a large majority of those guys makes sense, but trying to flip Xavien Howard for a first round pick that will likely not be as talented as he is? Why not just pay the man with the newfound money? Obviously building through the draft is the best way to manage the cap and develop talent, but those guys aren't going to be eligible for a new contract in the next 3-5 years, so where will all this money be spent? What players will want to come to a ****show of an organization that's visibly tanking? The Mario Williamses that are ready to retire in Florida?
  15. I don't doubt he can play for a few more years at SB-contention level, but Giselle wanted him off the field years ago. If he pushes this and has a life-after-football altering injury.... ?
  16. Yeah I understand that. I can't recall such a sharp 180 of feelings a fanbase has had with one player - from "worth every penny" in Schwartz's scheme to...whatever the **** happened the next year. He had nineteen million reasons to man up and just play football regardless of how disastrous the Rex hire was for our defense.
  17. It's not entirely on Rex, though. Mario flat out quit and made about a million bucks per tackle in his final year with us.
  18. He's been a great player in the league for a while on really awful teams - he'd not be a fit for us but should probably look for a short term deal with a contender
  19. I would think Damien Harris would be on their radar Rd 2-3...highly doubt we spend a first on a position that depends so much on a good OL
  20. There's no guarantees he stays in Detroit, Belichick will probably be trying to get him for a 6th rounder
  21. His defense was 31st. This was a foregone conclusion. With the years that Dee Ford, Houston, Chris Jones, and Fuller had, there was no reason for them to be that continuously awful.
  22. He was employed by us only ten years ago... This is crazy and very unfortunate.
  23. You bring up some good points, but there are always other cases that can be brought up - like Lane Johnson to Jason Peters and Jack Conklin to Taylor Lewan.
  24. Okay, I was definitely making an assumption there, but I really don't think he wanted to stay unless it was for money he couldn't refuse (which we couldn't do thanks to Whaley's cap management) - talking about how his relatives could finally get to watch him play, saying how the "pats were beating him his entire career," not even saying thank you to Buffalo once on his way out, etc.
