So I just lost my very first fantasy match-up ever by 0.58 points in our Yahoo fantasy league. It came down to the Ravens defense for me tonight vs Justin Tucker for him. Fantasy interests made that game more interesting... not that it wasn't. If only Allen didn't lay an absolute egg... If only I didn't drop Deebo Samuel for Jarvis Landry because I saw Curtis Samuel was injured and out and stupidly got the 2 mixed up... Oh well... Onto the next match-up. How the heck does this fantasy stuff work once you lose, anyway?

This is less about that single play than the inability of Daboll (who was with the Patriots and saw Brady's success rate on those plays over the years) to understand the asset he has at QB and the proper way to train that asset to run a 4th and short play. There should be no thinking about it... it should be automatic.

Now this stat is from about 6 years ago, but between 1999-2015, a QB sneak on 4th and 2 or less were successful 89.7% of the time. https://sports.sites.yale.edu/success-short-yardage-play-types-fourth-down Now, granted... on 4th and 1 it drops to 82.8% for the QB Sneak, but that's still significantly more successful than the 63.4% success rate of all non QB run plays, but an 82%+ percent success rate on 4th and short along with having a 6'5, 240+ lb QB makes the answer obvious. Any (and I mean ANY) time it's 4th and short (definitely less than 1... 2 or less in certain parts of the field) you don't huddle up... you don't take timeouts... you run up and hike the darn ball and run Allen under center for the 1st down! This has been a huge frustration of mine ever since we've drafted Allen. That's on Daboll... period.

Wait... are you saying you're a much better team than you were last year or a much better team than Buffalo? If you mean the former, I could see that. I already said I think Buffalo wins by about a TD... you consider that domination? Okay. Now, if you mean that Pittsburgh is a much better team than Buffalo, you need to get your head checked. I don't think this game will be a route. I think Buffalo will win, but it'll be relatively close most of the game. But what I think you're underestimating is how good Buffalo was last year and the fact that they've brought back 21 of 22 starters and arguably upgraded that starter who left and have almost certainly upgraded their pass rush. But I'll say this... I think Pittsburgh's best chance to win this game is a very run-heavy game with Harris. With Star out of the game, I could actually see Pittsburgh potentially winning if they commit to the run. -

Since when is 26-15 barely beating a team? Okay.... maybe we only win by a TD... that's about what I expect. A W is a W. Also... the Steelers were 11-1 when Buffalo played them. Soooo... you think they're winning their first 12+ games this season? We could bet on that if you like. -

Would we save anything off the Cap if we cut him right now? -
Calling it now: Devin will be a 1000 yard back this year

I hope so. I'm the idiot who drafted him at RB in the 5th round. He and Mostert are my 2 starting RBs -

I will put this here as opposed to starting a new thread, though it may deserve it: I just watched Inside the NFL and the woman who is evidently the investigative reporter on that show said that among ALL NFL players on a roster as of this week (after cutdowns), the vaccination rate among players is 93%. Seems pretty Bills related considering that from what we know, our team is currently far below that number.

I really don't like the idea of Star not being 100% and a full go at this point. As much as he's been kind of a sacrificial lamb, his absence last year was one of the most significant reasons our run defense got noticeably worse than the year before. And I really expect Najae Harris to be a big part of the Steelers game plan this week. All of that combined with my continued lack of faith in Edmunds as any kind of a true run stuffing MLB has me slightly worried about our D on Sunday. -
Why bother wearing a seatbelt if you can still die in a car accident? Why bother wearing a condom if you can still get a girl pregnant? Why bother wearing a helmet when riding a motorcycle when you can still die if you get into an accident? Why... well... ya know... Whatever anyone's reasons might be for not getting vaccinated, that one would be stupid.

Sheesh... this should establish that I don't know SQUAT about Fantasy. Just setup my automatic draft player ranking (cause I don't know if I'll be around for the actual draft later today) with McCaffery as my #1, Kelce as my #2 and Allen as my #3. I assume this means if Kelce is available in the 2nd I'd get him. Any other suggestions? Is Diggs a better Fantasy bet than Allen? I don't even understand how that would be possible.
