I feel like this is more likely to end in Shady suing his ex-girlfriend's friend for slander than him getting charged with domestic abuse at this point. So... does this mean the only accusations of domestic abuse are coming from Shady's ex-girlfriend's friend???? I'm thinking this looks more and more foolish. But there's no investigation right now, or at least no charges, is there? He's not even a suspect in connection with the robbery or assault, is he? Is the investigation related to previous domestic assault Shady's ex-girlfriend's friend made relating to her, their child and their dog? Has any evidence been put forward at all or do we just have the words of a friend of the alleged victim but nothing from the victim herself? Were the pictures posted and taken down of his ex girlfriend a couple days ago or from a time Shady supposedly did it to her? She dated 2 guys before her who also beat her and apparently the whole eviction thing has gone for months with her refusing to leave the house, so she's gotta have at least a little gold-digger in her, was there a timestamp on that picture of her bloodied up to know that it was even taken while she and Shady were together rather than her being with Vick or Mayweather? I know I might come off as blinded by homerism with all those questions, but with at least what I've heard from the story so far all we have are he said/she said regarding the supposed domestic abuse which was brought up immediately after a robbery and assault that we KNOW Shady did not personally commit (pictures of him practicing in Miami 4 hours after the assault took place) in the very same week (or was it the very same day???) that she and Shady were due in court relating to him evicting her out of his house after a year of her refusing to leave. Is that all we know so far? Anything else? I'd legitimately like to know, because if this is all we know, I think it's kinda shocking that the court of public opinion (and that's the only court the league truly cares about) has already pretty much found him guilty.

On the DP show today, Patrick said that with what they know right now, if this were during the regular season, McCoy would have been immediately placed on the Commissioner's Exempt list and suspended indefinitely. Am I missing some crucial piece of evidence that's been revealed??? Last I knew Shady's ex, who he is has apparently been trying to evict (trying??? I didn't know it was so difficult for a landlord to evict a tenant when he owns the property) was robbed and assaulted by someone that wasn't him and a friend of Shady's ex simultaneously, in the heat of the moment, accused him of being responsible for the robbery and assault while also accusing him of being a woman, child and animal abuser. Is that all we know? Has more evidence come out? I know there were pictures posted by the friend and quickly taken down. Were those pictures of the girl after the robbery and assault or were they supposedly pictures that were months old that were proof of Shady abusing her? Has this turned into something different thus far??? OP... update page 1! Or someone who's on this **** can you please start a separate Shady update thread for those of us who just want updates and don't want to partake in (or have to read through) dialogue about possible water problems in the house that may have contributed to something.

You think he's off the team despite the fact that he didn't lay a finger on her and the victim, who was scheduled in court about what's apparently been a year-long eviction battle with her famous and wealthy ex-boyfriend in whose house she has been living (squatting???) against the owners wishes, has simply said that she thinks he's involved. And you think he's off the team????

It's a shame what happened here, but it's really looking more and more like Shady is just as likely the victim of a smear campaign as anything else.

This is a great example of two people reasonably disagreeing. I completely understand and respect your reasoning here. I'm of the opinion that Allen, if he's the best QB on our roster right now (which you concede he likely is), should start right away because he'll learn better on the field than on the bench. My reasoning essentially boils down to the fact that Allen is by all accounts a very late bloomer and late to being immersed in the position of QB the way most other Division I QBs are and, therefore, also seems to be a very fast learner. He's smart. On top of that, he's big, he's tough, he's elusive and athletic (faster 40 time at the Combine than Carson Wentz), so I'll be less worried about having the perfect OL--and I actually think ours will be significantly better than most believe. If Peterman or McCarron are the better QB during the offseason, he should start. Otherwise, I think this team as a whole is built up enough to weather the storm of some rookie yips. Afterall, we had a QB who was one of the worst QBs in the NFL last year and we broke the longest playoff drought in sports

David Carr was thrust into an absolute shitstorm. He never stood a chance with that team. They were an expansion team and their #1 player in the expansion draft never played a down for them. That was All-pro OL Tony Boseli. Yeah, he might've helped a little. Otherwise, they had absolutely nothing. Again, they were an expansion team and they decided to start their #1 draft pick immediately despit bringing entirely new players and coaches together across the NFL and college in their very 1st year. And David Carr, while very talented and likely ruined by poor choices by the Texans, was pretty immobile. He wasn't remotely elusive in the way Allen is. I agree that Carr is a great example of a rookie QB being mismanaged, but we look NOTHING like the 2002 Texans.

Wish the OP were updated with the real story on the 1st page. This looks more and more like McCoy is innocent to me. I'm guessing there are a bunch of people who feel differently now that this thread is 75 pages deep. This is all going to play out, obviously, but it seems pretty clear that the initial insinuations made in that Instagram post that was quickly taken down and made private were false, or at least misleading. This is going to be a 300 page thread by Friday. Can the OP or a mod please take it upon themselves to update the very first post when actual news breaks so the rest of us aren't subjected to pages and pages of he said/she said or "well I've been falsely accused before" discussion, as interesting as that might be? Shady claimed in his statement on Instagram he hasn't been face to face with any of the people involved in months. I think if this is all true, Shady should be immediately cut and locked up. But I'm a little skeptical of it considering all the other circumstances (they had a court date today????), and on the flip side, if the woman made this up, she should be locked up. On a side note, is Shady also saying he hasn't seen his kid in months???

Maybe the stats I brought up don't definitively prove that point, but the stats you initially brought up to disprove the point I was making are far from accomplishing that.

It's going to be extremely difficult to explain away to your vets why you aren't starting the best QB on the roster. And McDermott preaches open competition all the time... If Allen wins that competition, he's the starter. Dabol and McDermott will likely have some sort of plan in terms of game planning and what not to protect him throughout the season.
