  1. Our record says there are a lot of teams we won't beat. I have zero expectation that this team can beat KC, Baltimore or Jacksonville in the playoffs. I think we could definitely lose to the Texans and Dolphins. The Bengals with Burrow would have been a lock to beat us. If by some miracle we get through all of that, the Cowboys, Eagles, Lions and 49ers would completely dismantle us. I've watched dozens of games this year. Pretending we are Super Bowl contenders with all the strength in the league this year is completely delusional.
  2. I blamed Leslie because the Bengals were down 3 starting offensive lineman and not only did we get 0 pass rush (1 sack for 2 yards - coverage sack if memory serves), but we didn't even scheme for it. Leslie never schemed to his opponents weaknesses and never exploited them in game. It was just nickel tampa-2 all day every day. Now, is it McDermott that's actually the cause behind that? Maybe, because we do the same ***** on offense. I've routinely watched us not exploit defensive injuries or inefficiencies year after year go back to the beginning of his tenure.
  3. You're conveniently leaving out the part where he's a Super Bowl champion. He has the track record and the DNA to replicate it at any time. That's while he's still there. He's succeeded without top tier talent ont he offensive side of the ball. McDermott has failed given every opportunity. Form my perspective he doesn't have the DNA. He's already shown us his peak. They aren't remotely similar situations, even when you try to time slice it in the best possible way to support a different narrative. It's pretty clear to me, and their teams, that Harbaugh and Tomlin aren't holding their teams back from winning another Super Bowl, but I'm convinced that McDermott is.
  4. I'd rather not make it this year. We aren't a threat to win the Super Bowl, so I'd rather have the draft capital to see if a new coach and a couple high profile rookies can be the difference.
  5. I don't think you remember who Joe Flacco was. He was elite for a half of one year, which is when he won the Super Bowl. After starting out poorly, we went on a tear to end the season and was the hottest player of the playoffs. He had one other good year in 2016 but otherwise was never near that level again. He had a very Matt Shaub-esque career, imo. As for the current state of things, the ravens are playing well and appear to be the best team in football right now. You could have made a case for firing Harbaugh during the Flacco slump years, but since Lamar got there he has a COTY award and 4 out of 5 years has a playoff appearance (soon to be 5/6), despite having a QB who's missed roughly a a quarter of each played season due to injury. Winning a Super Bowl gets you a lot of rope, but it doesn't mean you can't hang yourself with it. Again, I don't think Harbaugh is a the top of top coaches, but like Tomlin I think he's markedly better than McDermott. I'll never prefer a Defensive coach, unless your name is Bill Belichick, in an offensive league though. Even then, maybe his time has come too.
  6. What separates them between the most important achievement of their career? Probably the belief that Harbaugh will get his second before McD gets his first. He's not exactly my #1 coach or anything, but he's definitely a step above McDermott on gameday. Harbaugh has also had to fight uphill with lackluster offensive units most of his career. MCDermott on the other hand has had tons of offensive talent, but just squandered it.
  7. McD making the playoffs will have zero impact on my opinion of him. We already know that he can make the playoffs, and we also know that he struggles once he gets there. The latter is the part that concerns me. What happens from September-January is immaterial because I expect the Bills to make the playoffs every year. That's table stakes. Can he win a Super Bowl? I previously said it was only possible if Mahomes, Burrow and Hurts went down. Still 2 to go.
  8. What I do is not "authentic", but I don't care because it tastes better. If you don't want to spring for ribeye and happen to live near an asian market, they'll usually have presliced frozen beef like this that's used for bulgogi, hotpot, strif fry etc. It works excellently for a cheesesteak. just slice it into strips and you're good to go. I carmelize onions which takes about 40 minutes and in a separate pan I'll do peppers, mushrooms, and spicy cherry peppers (like I said, not authentic, but definitely better to me) and then I'll deglaze them with some vermouth. I like Costanzos rolls when I can get them, but anything with some chew should work. I split them open and toast just lightly enough on the oven to get a little crisp on the outside of the roll - it's very easy to go too far on this. Your beef will only take a couple minutes to come together. I use beef tallow as my fat which adds a lot more beefy flavor and season with salt pepper and garlic powder. Create a pile for each sandwich and mix in your veggies, add provolone on top and steam with a dash of water and a lid for your pan. Then just toss your open roll (with whatever condiments you like. I'm a fan of Sandwhich Pal Horseradish) on the pile and use a long turner/spatula to scoop under the whole thing and flip it over. the cheese will be inside the roll instead of on top in this version, but it's the best method I've found. Note the example below is an early version where I didn't use the carmelized onions (sauteed instead) and I didn't add the cherry peppers either. freeze it slightly or buy it pre-sliced (what I do)
  9. Give me the same team and staff in a Bills uniform in Buffalo and I will.
  10. How would you not? They have a star rookie QB that so far looks to have a ceiling with no limit, a WR room packed with talent. A young HC that looks like one of the next stars of the league. What's not to like? The bills on the other hand have pretty clearly peaked. Even if we weren't dumping games to bottom feeders and generally playing terribly, this squad as built and coached has never been championship worthy. We're like a worse version of the late 2000s Chargers.
  11. Not even close. They're going to get wrecked by Indy and Bal, will probably lose to Cin at least once, AZ will be tough, and so will SEA. Best case they finish the season 10-7
  12. Imma need you to define "dictator".
  13. Every head coach (at least every decent one) is a "dictator". It's their job.
  14. i dont see any way McD is canned before the end of the season. too much history, not bad enough of a collapse, and too weak of an owner.
  15. Bills get embarrassed again on a Zach Wilson game winning drive to win 12-10.
  16. He's been mostly terrible, but he plays fast and hits hard, so at a glance it looks like he's doing good things. There's a reason he keeps losing snaps to Dodson.
  17. In a totally different season with a different cap, post FA, post draft, post offseason injuries and prep. I couldn't think of a more meaningless argument.
  18. Yup, because we get smoked by the Bengals the following week. If by some miracle we survive, the rams embarrass us at the show where we would be outclassed in every facet of the game.
  19. The ball was delivered in the endzone to win the game. A catch or a pass interference ,as you should well known we are highly prone to, is a loss. Games don't get much closer than one play that sends you home with a W or L. it's a textbook definition of "a stop".
  20. You know the team just made a big stop to win a game two weeks ago right? They also did it two weeks before that. The issue here is that we've asked the team to make a stop to tin the game every single week for the last six weeks, right? That's untenable. We've won two of those which is one game shy of a coin flip.
  21. If you think the offense is going to be significantly different under Brady, you're fooling yourself. He'll be running Dorsey's playbook and he'll probably be running his gameplan until at least the bye. He got the job this morning and he has almost no experience outside of 1 year on a terrible Carolina team and led them to the 24th ranked offense. There's not time for him to change anything. The best you can hope for is slightly different situational playcalling, and there's go guarantee it's any better (it probably won't be). Expect him to be fired along with everyone else in January.
  22. Anything to not put the blame on the guy with the ball in his hands that botched the play. I'm looking forward to seeing you in the next gymnastics world championships.
  23. Meanwhile in 2023: You can't fumble in the postseason if you don't play well enough to go.
