  1. Wishful thinking that it's make or break. They've clearly planned out a multi-year rebuild here and you don't do that without a blessing from management. I think as long as there isn't a scandal, they could win 6 or 7 games and still keep their jobs.
  2. Isaac Bruce ran a 4.55 40 at 5'11" and 173 pounds and was also drafted #33 overall. He did alright.
  3. I feel like they've been chasing this guy since McD got here. They just want rookie Kelvin Benjamin.
  4. You mean a 2nd round pick? Randy Moss was traded for a 4th round pick and and then he had the best season of his HoF career. I could easily see Diggs doing a similar thing under the Texans. I'm not about to start thinking that this FO has any idea what they're doing when they made Dawson Knox the 6th Highest paid TE when they signed Von Miller to $120M, when they gave Deonte Hardy a stupid contract based on no production, when they completely mangled the Hines acquisition, when they mishandled Wyatt Teller, when they were paying guys like Neal and Matakevich big money to play special teams, when they previously shipped out a ton of players for very little in return just because they weren't their guys. I have no faith in McDermott at all, and only slightly more so in Beane. if they didn't completely luck into Josh Allen turning the lights on in year 3 with the biggest improvement for a QB in NFL history, they're both out of a job years ago. McDermott would be coaching secondary for the Steelers and Beane would be a scout or bizdev guy somewhere.
  5. Yes. I would like any evidence because all you're doing here is proving me point. Your entire argument is , "well, it HAD to be something". Could have literally been anything. Maybe he and McDermott had a different favorite flavor of ice cream. You have nothing to substantiate your claim, just like thousands of other Bills fans, yet you've crafted a narrative for yourself that helps you make sense of it all. There might be something to it. Maybe he kicked a pregnant lady and her pregnant dog, but you don't know. You'll probably never know. You just find it easier to blame a guy that isn't here anymore than the people still here who will almost certainly continue to underachieve without him.
  6. Many rebuilds are silent - maybe they are pitched as "retooling" but that's not what they really are. To me retooling is when a team loses or gains key players and completely shifts their philosophy and how they win. We saw this in Brady's NE, Peyton's Indy, Mahomes' KC - the silent rebuilds are what we saw in Rivers' SD, Rodgers, GB, Rothlisberger's Pit. There were absolutely seasons in Green Bay and Pittsburgh where they had no shot to win a super bowl but they were still gonna go on and win 10-11 meaningless regular season games and ditto for San Diego and Pittsburgh. That's exactly where we are right now, imo. We can win 10, 11, 12 games, but we have as close to a 0% shot to win this Super Bowl as you can get. I know, I know - we have Josh Allen. I've seen enough great QBs on massively flawed teams to know that's not nearly enough to get it done. Watching the Bills try to win with their previous and current iterations of the team is a little reminiscent of watching Peyton Manning stack accolades and division championships until they had enough pieces come to together in their second iteration of the team to finally get past New England.
  7. but that argument goes out the window on game days. Dude's don't run straight lines in shorts against air. I'm not saying speed doesn't matter, but 40 time is historically a pretty weak indicator of NFL success.
  8. Coming fresh off the heels of a top 5 receiving season would have been a great idea. It worked out well for Jon Robinson.
  9. It's nice to see you have a suddenly renewed blind faith in our front office. Diggs has become the "emotionally exhausted" of the 2024 season around here.
  10. I mean, I don't disagree, but nothing that happened this week was about him. It's 100% Beane's call right or wrong.
  11. I think it has to be the standard since people are spouting off about the guy like he told their mothers to ***** themselves. People are carrying water for Allen that he never asked anyone to do. Allen has always said they're brothers, he said he texted Diggs after the trade, he repeatedly said the media was wrong about him and yet people invent these stories like they hated each other. Based on what? I'm not saying that there wasn't a problem, but there isn't a person ont his message board that knows for certain that there was and what it was about. They blew up at each other one the sideline that one time? You've honestly never seen that happen on a sideline? Does this guy "have to go"? How about this guy?
  12. Tell us what happened with your first-hand knowledge of the situation.
  13. Zero percent chance of that happening unless you're talking about the part where Floyd had 1 sack across his last 8 combined games. Miller might get to 1 this year.
  14. That's only true if the CB knows exactly where you're going and how you'll get there. Most of the game played between WR and CB is disguising that information. Isn't it telling that AB was the most productive of any of those players by a large margin and was also the slowest?
  15. I've been saying this since we cut ties with all of our captains in the offseason and no one wanted to hear it because of who was saying it. "reloading" is "rebuilding" with a PR spin on it. It doesn't have to mean that you tear everything down to the floorboards, but they most certainly jettisoned most of the the core of the team this year. The rest of the old core will be dumped last year. The only players who might survive will be Dawkins, Allen, Oliver and possibly Milano.
  16. Lots of really solid starting quality players out there right now if they want a vet and someone wants to play cheap on a 1 year deal.
  17. I've never seen anyone exaggerate about a player more than Diggs. The guy never said a peep in public that degraded the Bills, and by all accounts he was BFFs with the QB. There's absolutely ZERO evidence to suggest he was a cancer in the locker room. We've all been alive long enough to see Michael Irvin, Terrell Owens, Keyshawn Johnson, Chad Johnson, Antonio Brown and tons of other WRs forgotten to time who were all selfish, rude a-holes who threw their teammates and organizations under the bus repeatedly. The most Diggs ever dig was leave cryptic 1 lines on twitter that never made any sense or meant anything just to screw with people. Big deal. If he had a beef with anybody within the Bills organization, no one here has any knowledge of it.
  18. Anything that stops them from paying 3 million a year to guys like Matekevich and Neal
  19. I thought the same thing about David Sills V when he put up 33 TDs and 1800 yards in 2 years for WV and I was really wrong about him. Maybe this is a similar deal.
  20. yes, because getting WRs late on day 3 likely isn't perceived as being very high value. The difference between them and UDFAs is probably marginal. We're int he range of getting special teams contributors and priority UDFA targets here.
  21. You do when you draft 28th and the talent isn't there. The Safety will be starter this year, just maybe not "day 1". The WR will likely get 60% reps - that's starter level even if he starts the year as "WR3". The RB will likely get 30-40% snaps - that's a significant role. The DT will likley get 40% of the defensive snaps. Does it really matter if they dont get another 10-15% that the "starter" gets? The biggest deal is at the safety spot where whoever starts will have 80-90% of the snaps.
  22. I'm generally positive when I have reason to be and negative when I have reason to be. I think it was a solid draft for depth given what we walked into it with. I have concerns about where our elite defensive players for the next 1-3 years are going to come from, but we weren't in much of a position to do anything about that this year. I would expect next year we'll have to focus on a couple of playmaking defenders. I anticipate needing at least a dominant pass rusher and corner, if not a LB too.
  23. possibly, but does that matter? they drafted 4 players that will likely play a large amount of snaps year 1. That's a pretty big deal. If we can do it again in 2025, they'll be ina good position for the next few years.
  24. Idgaf what player the quarterback likes in the draft. It's not his job to understand draft prospects. Given he doesn't watch his own tape, I don't imagine he's spending hundreds of hours breaking down WR prospects.
